Seriously one of the most honest businessmen I have ever encountered! Visited them years ago on Grand Street when I had an issue. Instead of trying to make a sale or have me spend $ at their shop, gave me priceless advice which I followed and cost me zero dollars. Just stopped by their new location on Clinton, same man who listened to me patiently when I asked him about fixing a lock installation. Once again, didnt try to upsell me. Told him I would try to send some business his way since he is such a decent guy. So if you you're looking for an honest, friendly, trustworthy locksmith go visit this spot. This is a real review and not some scam fake review, have only met this man twice since I moved to NYC in the 90s and can wholeheartedly recommend this spot which is tucked away just south of East Broadway and Clinton in the LES. read more

This place is great and the guys are so nice, they moved to Clinton street but Google hasn't updated yet. Make keys in like 30 seconds

Amazing service! The person who helped me did not have the key but called around to get the key. This was what I would have to do on foot so the help was amazing. read more

Went here today to get my keys duplicated. I've gone to many different shops around the LES/EV area whose duplicated keys have not worked on my locks. I told the worker that this has happened before and he told me I could come back if the keys didn't work and he would help fix them. I got home later and the keys all worked! The service was quick and efficient and the worker was very polite. Cash only. Prices are more affordable than at other shops I've visited. read more

By far this locksmith done a very great job They recommend us the locks and advise Also very good service, the prices was so responsible read more

I needed to install a new lock on my door. The guy is a perfectionist. He even cleaned while he worked. We tested and retested the lock until it worked perfectly. I can't say enough good things about Stephen. And to add to it all, they are very reasonably priced. I highly recommend these licensed locksmiths for your lock needs. read more

I have been using Good Lock since they opened in my neighborhood. The owner is really sweet and responsive. I've only had keys made from them but recommended them as a locksmith and he had a great experience. Having keys made by them costs less than local hardware stores read more

I was looking for a locksmith or hardware store that was open on the weekend so I could just copy some house keys. I was very happy to come across this place that was open on a Saturday. The gentlemen took my keys and made 2 copies for me almost in the blink of an eye. He did them very quickly and efficiently, I've already tested them so I know that they work perfectly for my apartment. And it was only $1.25 per copy, such a good price. read more

Good Locksmith - Outside - Keys & Locksmiths Near Me - New York, New York

See all

Arrived ahead of schedule, friendly, professional, and with great workmanship and advice on how to maintain the high security locks I purchased. This locksmith has been in business since at least 1989 so the level of experience and care is totally worth it. This store doesn't show up in google maps. I asked the locksmith why that is and he said because Google demands they pay for advertising. Since they don't pay the extortion fee then they don't show up in the map, but they are still open and doing great work, getting business from word of mouth. read more

I have gone here many times to have keys made. Always a great experience. Knowledgeable. Staff and friendly service

Isaac the owner I believe is extremely friendly and helpful and I always use them as my Locksmith

The folks who work here are so incredibly efficient and professional. They saved me when I had locked myself out of my apartment and came very quickly when I asked for their services. I think it's cash only, so had to withdraw from the ATM to pay the $60 to have my door unlocked. I've received quotes from other locksmiths to unlock your door which have easily been over $100. These other locksmiths also say they won't be able to let you in without damaging the lock (i.e., you'll need to replace the lock as well which is an additional cost for you). The gentleman at Good Locksmith got me back into my apartment quickly without damaging the lock and for far less than what it seems like other locksmiths in the area charge. I've also had spare keys made here - I believe it's $1.25 per key (if memory serves me correctly) and they were done in a matter of seconds. Really pleased with their services and if you're considering Good Locksmith, know that you'll be in good hands! read more

Superb service that would make a non-Manhattanite (moi) bumble out of Brooklyn to get keys copied and purchase a good lock (in my case, several). The gentleman of the shop is extremely kind and knowledgeable. Like many unorganized people of NYC, I have lots of keys but have no idea to what do they open. My particular annoyance is the pair of semi expensive locks to my home to which I lost keys to. Instead of getting rid of them and just buying a new set, I decided yo give Good Locksmith a visit. Gave the owner the doorknob and deadbolt to see what he can do, fast forward 2 hours he rekeys it with swapping out pins and ka-blammo, the bum doorknob and deadbolt are now in working order! read more

Great work at a good price. Used them 13 years ago and again 2 weeks ago. Highly recommend.

Very affordable and friendly service. If your keys are made and they don't fit right, you can always bring it back and they will fix it for you. read more

Excellent services with extremely fair prices, particularly in comparison to other competitors in the area. Steven was both friendly and knowledgable, and took the time to ensure his work was perfect. I really thank him and this business, and would recommend it to others. Thank you. read more

It should be called WORST LOCKSMITH INC.!!! This locksmith may be the most corrupt business owner in NYC. He keeps you waiting in a hot hallway on a summer day... then arrives and breaks your door down. "You pay me to get in" he said... Yeah, well- he breaks the door for $100 fee and now wants to charge you for an entire new door lock and repair for another $100.... Maybe there was a language barrier? Because, yeah- he could barely even speak english! I've heard better english in a Taiwanese massage parlor! Do not use this locksmith! read more

Good Locksmith - Avoid this Locksmith At All Costs! - Keys & Locksmiths Near Me - New York, New York

I came here on a Saturday afternoon to get a key made. $1.00 per key and you're out of there in less than 2 minutes. And the new made key is even better than the old one. Awesome. read more

Steven was the best! He was immediately available, kind, warm, and considerate. I did a lot of research and he has the best prices and reviews. I highly recommend him! read more

My key broke in the lock. They came within an hour after I called, and had my door fixed in a few minutes. They quoted me $65 on the phone, and that's what I paid, plus tip. Mandarin speaking even (the guy said he was from Guangdong, so probably Cantonese speaking too). I was afraid of dealing with shysters, they were totally not. read more

Isaac and Steven are a great bunch of guys and they know their stuff. The prices are reasonable and they have done quite a few jobs for me. The one thing I wish could improve is that I've been having problems with my Multi-lock dead bolt on stainless steel doors. The thumb lock often gets stuck and there doesn't seem to be anything these guys or anything that anyone can fix without an expert coming in. read more

Amazing locksmiths! Steven was very helpful and got the job done quick. I got here for key copies with reasonable pricing! Great locksmith around the neighborhood read more

Best in the area absolutely caring professional service. It's extremely hard to find these mom and pop shops. Go by this place is always on point. The owner and family is one of the best in the area. Did I say the best!!! read more

The Good Locksmith shop is a hidden gem that has been a part of the NYC Chinatown community for decades. The owners are friendly and helpful people. They have a wide array of keys and make a good quality product. If you should run into any issues with a key they make, bring the key back and they will try their best to make it right. They do their best to take care of their customers. I do not live in Manhattan, but every time I need keys made, this is always my go-to shop. I have been a customer for over 20 years now. Their prices are very reasonable for the products and services they offer, plus it is great to support a true community-focused business. One more point, for some reason, Good Locksmith is showing as closed on a number of sites, including this one. This is inaccurate, the shop is open five days a week. I went there last in early May 2021. I hope this helps! read more

I called to inquire about getting my lock rekeyed and was quoted a fair price by Isaac. He came the next day and my lock was rekeyed in less than 40 minutes. The price was exactly the same as quoted and he even took the time to explain how to maintain the lock. I highly recommend these guys to anyone in need of a locksmith! read more

Their name says it all! This is an excellent locksmith. I've had a lot of keys made in my life (for property rentals) and I've never had a key made here that didn't work. You wouldn't think so, but that's actually pretty rare! Plus, this is a great small business and has been a valuable fixture in the neighborhood for a very long time. read more

I only need them once every few years, but they're always knowledgeable, helpful, prompt, and friendly. They just replaced an old Segal lock whose spring had broken. They suggested keeping our existing Medico cylinder rather than replacing it with the cylinder that came with the new Segal, as the Medico is better, and holding on to the new Segal cylinder just in case we need it in the future. And suggested how to maintain the lock over time. read more

Great service. Quick installation. Plus he helped me to grease the door to it won't squeak anymore.

The cheapest key copies in NYC .75 each. Quick and friendly staff.

I wish I could give 10 stars! Steven helped with a botched smart lock installation. He was prompt, courteous , kept a clean workspace and trouble shot the situation until he found a solution. I am so grateful and I highly recommend this shop. read more

Good prices, excellent service. They have a greater selection of key blanks than any shop I've been to in the city, and chances are, they can make your spare! read more

I had an awesome experience here as well. I recently moved from the East Village to the LES and didn't know where I could get keys duplicated so I consulted yelp and found Good Locksmith to be the closest to me. The shopkeepers, an old man and woman, spoke perfect English. She took the two keys I needed, told me the price of each key up front and duplicated the keys in under a minute!! I was skeptical thinking that the keys may not work but I got home and tried them on each door and it was as good as the originals. I will definitely be going back to duplicate my keys. BTW- they also sell tons of locks. If you wanna change your locks check this place out. read more

Very friendly. Great customer service and response time. Fluent in Mandarin and English. Fair prices and efficient work. Impressed!

Fast, efficient, and friendly. Got locked out and they came within 30 minutes. Got it done in 10.

Inexpensive and really quick service. Copied my door and mail key for $3. They sell other stuff too like doorknobs and lightbulbs lol staff was also very friendly and speaks English! read more
