Just stopped by their new location on Clinton, same man who listened to me patiently when I asked him about fixing a lock installation. Once again, didnt try to upsell me. Went here today to get my keys duplicated. I've gone to many different shops around the LES/EV area whose duplicated keys have not worked on my locks. I told the worker that this has happened before and he told me I could come back if the keys didn't work and he would help fix them. I got home later and the keys all worked! Arrived ahead of schedule, friendly, professional, and with great workmanship and advice on how to maintain the high security locks I purchased. This locksmith has been in business since at least 1989 so the level of experience and care is totally worth it. This store doesn't show up in google maps. I asked the locksmith why that is and he said because Google demands they pay for advertising. The folks who work here are so incredibly efficient and professional. They saved me when I had locked myself out of my apartment and came very quickly when I asked for their services. I think it's cash only, so had to withdraw from the ATM to pay the $60 to have my door unlocked. I've received quotes from other locksmiths to unlock your door which have easily been over $100. These other locksmiths also say they won't be able to let you in without damaging the lock (i.e., you'll need to replace the lock as well which is an additional cost for you). The gentleman at Good Locksmith got me back into my apartment quickly without damaging the lock and for far less than what it seems like other locksmiths in the area charge. I've also had spare keys made here - I believe it's $1.25 per key (if memory serves me correctly) and they were done in a matter of seconds. Superb service that would make a non-Manhattanite (moi) bumble out of Brooklyn to get keys copied and purchase a good lock (in my case, several). The gentleman of the shop is extremely kind and knowledgeable. Like many unorganized people of NYC, I have lots of keys but have no idea to what do they open. My particular annoyance is the pair of semi expensive locks to my home to which I lost keys to. Instead of getting rid of them and just buying a new set, I decided yo give Good Locksmith a visit. My key broke in the lock. They came within an hour after I called, and had my door fixed in a few minutes. They quoted me $65 on the phone, and that's what I paid, plus tip. The one thing I wish could improve is that I've been having problems with my Multi-lock dead bolt on stainless steel doors. The Good Locksmith shop is a hidden gem that has been a part of the NYC Chinatown community for decades. The owners are friendly and helpful people. They have a wide array of keys and make a good quality product. If you should run into any issues with a key they make, bring the key back and they will try their best to make it right. They do their best to take care of their customers. I do not live in Manhattan, but every time I need keys made, this is always my go-to shop. I have been a customer for over 20 years now. Their prices are very reasonable for the products and services they offer, plus it is great to support a true community-focused business. One more point, for some reason, Good Locksmith is showing as closed on a number of sites, including this one. This is inaccurate, the shop is open five days a week. I only need them once every few years, but they're always knowledgeable, helpful, prompt, and friendly. They just replaced an old Segal lock whose spring had broken. They suggested keeping our existing Medico cylinder rather than replacing it with the cylinder that came with the new Segal, as the Medico is better, and holding on to the new Segal cylinder just in case we need it in the future. I had an awesome experience here as well. I recently moved from the East Village to the LES and didn't know where I could get keys duplicated so I consulted yelp and found Good Locksmith to be the closest to me. The shopkeepers, an old man and woman, spoke perfect English. She took the two keys I needed, told me the price of each key up front and duplicated the keys in under a minute!! I was skeptical thinking that the keys may not work but I got home and tried them on each door and it was as good as the originals. I will definitely be going back to duplicate my keys.
