Absolutely love this restaurant. I was staying down the street At Arrive. We were recommended this restaurant at one of the stores that we went in. It turned out to be amazing! We started out with the chard edamame and the rolls. We also had a couple of yummy drinks! although I can't remember her name, our server was top-notch and she really knew what to recommend! Our main dishes were the star of the show with the homemade noodles and fried tofu in the Coco curry to the sauce that was a little bit spicy in the chicken bowl. FINALLY some good food in Memphis. If you like Asian food - you HAVE to give your business here while visiting. Alright so after an atrocious day prior, over on Beale St (plz avoid the food establishments there - zero quality to be found), my brother and I were getting fairly frustrated as to where to go for dinner. Wanting to maximize our short stay in Memphis, we didn't want to go to a chain, but was wary to take a chance on a local spot having been steered oh so wrong (by other Yelp users and locals). So when I came across Good Fortune and it's photos and positive reviews, we snapped to. A short walk from our downtown hotel, we were seated right away. There's a sign at the host stand, that says there's a TWENTY PERCENT SERVICE CHARGE. The kid at the desk explained it's for the gratuity but we can tip on top of that if we wanted to. This didn't sit well with me. 20% is not insignificant, and on our check it brought us from a reasonable two person dinner to NYC prices. Okay on to the review. Decor: it's pretty modern, bumping pop music, no acoustic sound dampening so everything is amplified and loud. Very much designed for the Instagram crowd. Cocktails: extra thumbs up for having mock tails available. Their Old Fortune is bright and reminiscent of my favorite drink. The mock tail, [ __ ] Sailor, received compliments as well. The food: delicious. Handmade noodles with filling broth, packed with flavors and extras available. I had the Coco Curry, my brother had the Big City. Really well done on both. I also appreciate the vegetarian options made standard. The Lumpia had a very sweet yet citrusy flavor to it that was surprisingly welcome. The ice cream was AMAZING. Holding up a star on this review by itself!!! The service: very good. Cassidy hooked us up with some great insider info on the area and where to get breakfast tomorrow morning before we flew out. Well you have to start with 5 stars for the effort. This is pretty ambitious for Memphis. And the locals seem to have rewarded them accordingly. But yeah -1 star for the presumptuous 20% tip, and -1 star for not taking covid seriously and sitting people way too close together, and -1 star for bringing out our app and ramen at the same time on a very small table (and generally having poor service). Finally had the chance to enjoy this South Main gem! I started with the Bruce Lychee cocktail (delish and not super sweet) along with the island poke, shrimp dumplings, and gfc chicken wings. The island poke was SO fresh & flavorful - I could literally eat this for every meal. The shrimp dumplings had a ton of filling and their house made chili oil was bomb! The wings were HUGE and they were almost a little too crunchy - seemed to be more breading than actual chicken - but still had incredible sweet/heat flavor. I ended up ordering a bowl of the coco curry noodles because why not? It was a very large portion and the tofu was perfectly fried and the broth had depths of flavor. Don't believe the hype. This restaurant is overpriced, underwhelming, serves tiny portions, and employs rude wait staff. I've been coming here for months and each visit gets progressively worse. From the kitchen messing up my order, to waitresses forgetting to put food orders in, to the bar refusing to accept tickets from their own bar crawl. Each time I come, the employees are more and more rude. I came in to turn in my drink tickets for their bar crawl and the woman behind the bar refused to assist and told me "we aren't participating in the lunar new year drinks anymore". I came in on February 28th - the date they wrote out on their Instagram post - the date they had written in their own graphic. Run, don't walk to this amazing ramen spot!!! Good Fortune Co is a relatively new ramen restaurant in downtown Memphis, TN! Pictured is the Tan Tan Ramen! It's completely vegan and features a TVP beef substitute, boi choy, cilantro, and their amazing chili crisp all in a umami based broth! Their noodles are homemade and fantastic! I think this is my new favorite ramen spot! ...And don't get me started on the wontons. They are TO DIE FOR! In the corner is the spice bomb that you can add for a fee. It's amazing and SUPER spicy, so don't try to add the whole thing! I also tried the Coco Curry! It was a very unique ramen to me! It includes one big cube of tofu, which I didn't think was enough tofu personally. The broth was amazing though, so it made up for that! The spice bomb also went beautifully with this ramen if you're into spicy foods! I loved this, but I would say that the tan tan was my favorite ramen! I looove how many vegan options this place has to offer; there are actually more vegan options than not! I will say that this place can get very pricey very quickly. The noodles are all $16, and the dumplings are $12, so you end up paying at least $28 for a meal ( + an automatic 20% gratuity). And yes, the wonton dumplings are a MUST. Another downside is that they are only open for about 6 hours a day, 5 days a week, so it can be hard to catch them. Overall, I love the fact that this place takes simple ramen ideas and enhances the flavors so much! Their broths are just simply the best in Memphis. You have to try this place! read more

I've been to one pop up and the ramen was pretty good! So I couldn't wait to go to the actual restaurant. For whatever reason when I ordered the big city ramen again, it wasn't as flavorful as the pop up I've been to. But it was still good. The wings were okay.. all I could taste is butter. Like a lot of butter. The shrimp dumplings were pretty good. It was flavorful. The dipping sauce that came with it didn't really taste like anything. My favorite is the taro fries. It was unique, I've never had it before. Oh, staff was fast and attentive! Food came out much faster than I expected. Also, the ramen was a bit stiff like it could been cooked a bit longer? Came to this spot my birthday weekend to indulge in a few favorites.: kimchi and ramen. The ambiance is nice. They took over the old South of Beale spot so it's cozy if you've been. First up, the kimchi. It was delicious! It came in a small bowl over rice and had the perfect flavor. If you love kimchi, you'll enjoy this dish. It is a nice serving so I will probably only order it again if I'm not following it with a bowl of ramen. For my main meal, I order the Big City. It's ramen with fried chicken. O. M. G. Y'all. This place is sodium gewd. While it's a bit small when you initially walk in, people can pack in there comfortably and the wait hasn't been bad when I've gone (without a reservation- which they, at least when I'm posting this, don't offer). Their cocktails are solid and different, offering fun flavors like lychee, and they have great mocktail options! Their special recently had soy milk, freshly squeezed OJ and vodka and tasted like a creamsicle. Their pork dumpling was decent, but I'd probably get the shrimp next time as I wanted some different flavors. Their charred edamame is bomb and comes with seasoned salt that you dip the pod into, then pop the beans into your mouth (sucking them and the seasoned salt). I shared the special ramen (sweet corn) and it was more than enough for two after the app and sharing the dumplings. The ramen was incredibly flavorful, fried tofu was perfectly cooked - slightly crispy, no appreciable breading, and flavorful. Staff was attentive and checked on us often, not letting the water go dry. It's a really cool place inside and the vibes are good! 10/10 would go again. read more

our server was really nice, but overall experience was disappointing. we came in as a group of 8, which isn't small, so we had no problem waiting for a table to be ready. however they told us they had to split us up into 2 groups of 4 in order to seat us inside. sure that's fine. they seat us at two tables that are parallel to each other, so we cannot talk to the other half of our group. we asked if we could be moved so at least we're all seated next to each other, they tell us they're not able to do that as it would be a fire hazard. sure.....yet not even 30 minutes later a group of 8 is seated all together, right next to us. no splitting of the group, they moved tables together to make it happen. we ask the manager why they were able to be accommodated and not us, they claim it's bc they had kids in the party. no offer made to fix our situation, and they automatically include 20% gratuity on every check which is wild. Heard there was a new Ramen shop opening up and had to give it a try! The food is actually really good, especially the wings. They're extremely flavorful and crispy. All the dumplings and wontons were delicious as appetizers but they only come with five each. The edamame was char grilled and it was a new taste, slightly burnt due to the char but it was nice and different. We had the honky Tonkatsu and the chicken based one, the name escapes me at the moment, but they're all really good. I would recommend it but it's a bit on the pricier end so if money isn't a big topic then go for it! If you're going then grab the wings! If I could give it a 4.5 stars I would. I would just say portion to pay ratio is a bit off on my end but it's not enough for me to dock it to 4 stars. read more

Bookmarked this place on Yelp because I've been wanting to try it! The entrance is so cute as can be seen in the picture. Ordered the Bruce Lychee cocktail and loved the balance of bitter and sweet. Got the GFC wings based off of other reviews, and I definitely recommend getting them as well. They are so crispy and full of flavor. Also got the Chicken Baby Don and the chicken was crispy and tasted amazing with the kimchi mayo. My friend decided to get some food to go and we were told they don't do to go but they still made it happen. We appreciated that so much. They do apply a 20% service charge, so things do add up. I've been waiting to go hear for years now and my boyfriend took me on a random Saturday. It was busy but we only waited 25 minutes for a table, if that. We looked over the menu online while we waited that way when we sat down we were ready to order. When we sat down they brought out waters to our table and greeted us so nicely. I wanted to try Sake cause I've never had it and the server gabby/ie went over the best options for me. We ordered the Sake Carafe, which is their house sake, GFC wings, Crawfish Dumplings, two spicy pork noodle bowls, and one Ube and vanilla Taiyaki, we shared everything but the noodle and we left so full. The food was so good, I genuinely think the appetizers were better than the main course. The crawfish dumplings were probably the most flavorful thing I've ever eaten in my life and the GFC wings are so delicious, me and my boyfriend can not stop talking about them. The Sake was kinda sweet, and the noodles were spicy enough to help decongest me and my partner. The food was great, the service was great and so FAST, would recommend to anyone. I also have bad anxiety and don't react well to crowded places but the vibes inside were so nice that I never found myself getting overwhelmed. Another great recommendation from a coworker that loves local here. I was doing work travel and it was my last night in the city. I needed a nice dinner before packing my bags and heading out of an early flight home. I was recommended to Good Fortune Company for their serious ramen (noodles made fresh in house) and since I was here on a Thirsty Thursday, they had a selection of beer and ramen that were 20% off. Important to note that they tell you up front they charge 20% gratuity fee to every bill so if you want to tip extra, you can but do not have to. I was ok with that. I was greeted wonderfully but the hostess, no wait to sit at the bar since I was dining solo. The place looked packed! There were people waiting to be seated at a table. They have indoor and outdoor patio seating. I asked the bartenders who were serving what their recommendation was for planted based because I was thinking the Coco Curry or Fungi Ramen. Then asked for beer recommendation and since I was inclined to pick the Asahi that night, I went with the Fungi Ramen. It came out super quick and I lied that they have just the right amount of ramen to broth ratio. When I got to eat ramen or pho, at most places, I cannot finish my broth because of drinking too much beverage while waiting for the soup or what but o was able to finish almost all of my rich broth for this dish. I asked for a small side of chili oil that they put sesame seeds in. It looks like they had to prepare a serving of it since they don't have condiments already mixed for the soup but it came out pretty good. Of course I was getting the ice cream dessert at the end so I asked for their flavor offering and tonight they had pumpkin and vanilla swirled available so I decided on that. It was so cute!! The ice cream soft serve came in the fish cone and with some matcha sticks, looked like mini pirouettes/pretzels but it was edible decoration. The staff was very friendly and the food and service was great! A great place to try in Memphis if wanting to have some great ramen! Cute downtown spot, nice cocktail menu and rotating dinner menu. Good music and diverse crowd, good vibes all around! Tonkotsu ramen was good, smaller portion than other places but still enjoyable. Please note the tonkotsu here doesn't have the same taste as a conventional Fukouoka ramen like Ichiran or Danbo, instead has chashu and flavor with more of a Cantonese style. Wings were very crispy and had a really great sweet savory sauce, but it was on the heavier side with large sized wings - maybe better sharing among parties +3. Bryce lychee was really good, very flavorful lychee taste and fairly strong! Was tempted by the Nice Melons drink, maybe next time. Taiyaki was good as well, seems their soft serve flavor changes time to time, be sure to check it out. Noted this was not a traditional taiyaki with red bean filling, instead ours came with 1 marshmallow at the bottom. Still thought it was cute.
