My dog and I have been through two 6 week sessions. My large dog had a lot of issues with socializing with other dogs, getting too excited, and jumping on people. He is sooo much better now. He showed so much improvement in the first sessions, we decided to do another session. He still has a ways to go, and we'll continue with the classes for awhile. She's so patient with all types of dogs, my rescue puppy had some reactive issues after being abused and abandoned but Adele accepted him into puppy classes with open arms. While he still has some issues, he's a lot better at socializing with other dogs! He also learnt so many new tricks and he loved going to class (I'm sure for the treats mainly). I told her I had a blue nose pit that is 1milliin percent good and she said she would have to meet my dog. To what, I asked, to which she replied "hmm I don't know that, I haven't figured it out" (price is of little concern, especially if it's a good thing for my dog) She seemed busy or driving or something - maybe she should not have picked up the phone if she was in a mood. I don't know. I won't be attending any of her classes. Seemed like she was in a bad mood and to me no matter how perfect my Pibble is she was going to have doubts. Don't judge before you even have a chance to meet her. I would stay away from this "dog trainer" she discriminates against bullies. So if you have one, don't waste your time w her Response to her response to me I said that some of the dogs in my current training situation were aggressive and there were not enough people to monitor the situation and I was worried about my dog - I told you she was a pacifist - I do not want private training - I prefer group training- she is a pacifist and not an aggressive bone in her body. I took my 4-month old puppy to Adelita's basic obedience classes (6 weeks) and had a great experience. Getting to interact with the trainer and ~10 other dogs / owners was great socialization for my puppy. After a plea for help her on Yelp Adele came and helped my dog. . Backstory. Chips first owner was not patient and did not train him in a positive way. He then moved across the us and into another owner before me..At 5 months old I got this.cuddly ball.of fur with some nerves. 2 weeks later he got a puppy fracture and needed surgery. I contacted Adelita via her website and she responded rather quickly, which I appreciated. One star for that. We emailed back and fourth a couple times discussing rates and eventually I scheduled a session. I was pretty positive I would be investing in the 6 sessions. Even discussed including my daughter's frenchie. She advised that she would be making an assessment on the dog which seemed fine to me. Scheduled for Saturday 10/14 at 4pm. A little backstory on my pup: I rescued a 4 month old Boston Terrier and explained to her that she wasn't wanted where she was and had been put out into the garage. That broke my heart so I took her in. I had no desire to own a dog but she needed me and I decided to help. I have never owned a dog before so I wanted to learn about potty training, walking her on her leash, socializing her with our frenchie and how to keep her okay being alone while I'm at work. Adelita arrived over an hour late, although she did text me and let me know she was running behind it turned out to be a little over an hour late. No biggie. It's LA $&@!? Happens! I was still anxious to learn some stuff but it turned out to just be a lot of talking. The puppy had a little cold and Adelita automatically assumed it was kennel cough and scared my next door neighbor when his dog tried to say hello. That threw me off a little bit but thought okay she's a professional she must know something I don't? Well I right away made her an appointment with the vet to have her checked out and she did not have kennel cough. Just allergies from this dry dusty heat and the winds. Oh well better safe than sorry I guess but she assumed wrong! I had the puppy since the evening of Wednesday 10/11. The puppy had not had any accidents like ZERO. she seemed so grateful to be indoors and loved she was having no problem using the pads I laid out for her. Her first and only accident ended up while Adelita was there literally sitting next to her lol the puppy peed on my area rug! First and only accident even up to now. No joke. Adelita did share a lot of information regarding where she buys her dog food, what type of leash I should use, and suggested looking for an elderly person who may be able use the company during the day so that the pup would not feel alone all day. This is where the second star comes in because it's a great suggestion. That's literally it. I was really hoping to find confidence in meeting with her and learning but instead I felt discouraged and judged. Oh she also did time check me 10minutes before the hour was up & she didn't seem very interested in continuing any business w us in the future? She simply suggested I take her to a vet which I was planning to do anyway. In my opinion $125 is way too expensive for a conversation/assessment. She didn't even offer to give me a discount for being late. With aps like WAG! out there now, It seems more affordable options are available if you do a little bit of research.
