I highly recommend Double Dog Dare Ya for both daycare and grooming. Our family adopted a very active, very smart, very strong one year old dog in December. Our dog loves to play but can also be independent-minded and reactive. The daycare staff intentionally groups dogs that play well together and genuinely care that the dogs have fun. My dog greets the staff as enthusiastically as family. I scheduled a grooming appointment expecting the groomer might be able to partially wash him if they're lucky since the veterinary office suggested we give him a sedative before the next visit. Both of my dogs LOVE Double Dog. We now have to spell Double Dog if we are not immediately taking them because they know the name and get beyond excited to go. One service I really love is the non-anesthetic dog teeth cleaning / scaling. It's way less traumatic for my dogs and much less expensive than doing it through the vet (which requires pre-op blood work). My dogs already know and love Jerry, who does the service, so it's not stressful for them - and he really does a great job. As a bonus for me, their breath is also way better after this service! So in addition to great daycare and grooming, consider teeth scaling! It keeps your wallet and your pet happy and healthy in my experience! read more

I think this is a better daycare option for big dogs since the big dog daycare is outside and feels just a bit bigger. We checked our small dog in for daycare and did not realize that the small dogs are kept in a small room for the ENTIRE day (no outside breaks). It looks like there is a small back area that may be open to the outside for them to relieve themselves but not an area for them to hang out or sunbathe. The bigger disappointment for me was that the dogs were checked on VERY infrequently. I'll admit I am a first time dog daycare owner but it took me by surprise that there was very little human interaction throughout the whole day. I try to put myself in a business owner's shoes and only comment on the things that are in their control but I do think it would be nice for a human to hang out with these dogs a little more. If your dog is SUPER social then it may not be a concern for you but something to keep in mind for others. read more

They let her out to play every day and she had plenty of space and several cat towers for her to climb. I take my handful of a husky to Double Dog and they are wonderful. It's always clean, there are always multiple workers in the yard when they are outside and there's cameras so when you miss your pup you can check in on them. Our first experience with boarding at Double Dog was... mixed. The check-in was perfect to be honest. A really nice lobby and set up, and the young lady checking in our pup was very friendly and enthusiastic that we were there. Left feeling great. Here's the only challenges we had. They very much encourage pet owners to go onto the live camera feed to keep an eye on their dog at check-in, which was obviously a big bonus for us. In the past, we have checked our dogs into Wagville and this has been a nice option. I sent the link to my girlfriend so she could occasionally pop in and watch our pup as well and we both noticed after three or four hours that the dogs themselves get almost know human engagement at all. Very small, rundown room with a few cots (which honestly is not that big of a deal... I get it... Dogs are not known for keeping things nice) were there were six or seven small dogs wandering around barking at the gate. My assumption is this was for some attention. Well after checking many times throughout the first day or two we noticed a theme that they are checked on very infrequently. I will be the first to say that maybe we just missed the time where staff are actually in there with them, but we got to a point where we were counting the hours to go get our dog because he seemed so lonely and neglected in the space. I think we would use double dog as a back up option moving forward, but given the neglect, his lack of eating and the way he smelled upon picking him up. I can definitely say this will not be our go to choice moving forward. We wanted to love this location, but unfortunately, we're not totally satisfied with the stay for reasons mentioned above. read more

I cannot express enough positivity about Double Dog. We've been taking our hyper Golden Retriever there for over a year now (since he was a puppy!). We've boarded him and did daycare frequently (pre-COVID). It's the only daycare that we trust and feel safe taking our boy too. The staff is genuinely friendly and on more than one occasion I've lingered around just to catch up- they also remember Charles (and other dogs from what I've seen) by name. Most importantly, they care and are responsive to feedback and questions. When I wanted Charles to get more playtime with the other pups they made it happen. When Charles was boarding for the first time (ever) he got an upset stomach and had diarrhea (which is normal when they're away from home in a foreign environment) I called Double Dog in full blown parent mode and was met with nothing but understanding and patience. I could not be a bigger fan of Double Dog Dare Ya or love the team there more than I do! My dog has been going there for almost five years -- both daycare and boarding -- and it feels like a second home and his extended family. The entire facility is very clean and they do a great job of keeping the dogs calm and relaxed and avoiding the kind of conflict that can come when you have lots of young dogs in a yard together. But what I've always loved most about DDDY is that - from the owner all the way down to the newest team member - it's never felt like they were "just doing a job" -- you really feel like they love the dogs, and especially your dog. :-) I give them an A+ and 5 stars!! Wished we liked this place more since all the reviews seemed great and we liked that the yard was outside. I think if you're just dropping off for a half day daycare, this place is fine but for overnight boarding, we'll probably go somewhere else especially if you're going on vacation and need to leave your dog for a couple days. There's not enough staff and they aren't watching the dogs the whole time and the times we watched the camera there were some dogs playing really rough with each other. Also it looks like they rotate the dogs so they're not in the yard the whole time. We checked almost every hour and the dogs are only in the yard for 2-4 hours a day and then put away in a kennel for the rest of the time. One time we didn't see our dog come out until we called and asked about it and that was around 11am. He was put away in the kennel around 4:30-5pm and not let until 11am the the next day which is a long time to be in a kennel. Right after we called, they let our dog out. There's no temperament test so basically they'll accept any dog in. Our dog ended up getting hurt by another dog and the staff didn't even know until we picked him up and found a big scab on his left leg and was walking a bit funny. We called and asked and they said he and some dogs were a bit aggressive when they played so in the future they'll give him more breaks which is nice but I wish someone would've have caught it and told us about it. Overall, there should be more staff watching the dogs and they need to be more attentive. The one thing we also didn't like was that there are no cameras in the overnight kennels so we can't watch our dog to make sure he's ok. read more
