THE GOOD COMPANY WAS IN FACT NOT GOOD! We came in a group of 31 so we knew what we were getting into. We had two servers for our two tables, one was absolutely fantastic she had a smile on her face the whole time but the other one was either having an off day or is bad at her job. She forgot about one of our meals and the cook was not happy. The food was mid... personally I had the French Dip which was one of their specialties (not done right). Some others in the group enjoyed their steaks and wraps. We were told we couldn't do separate checks by the one waitress but the other was not on the same page because she was ready to split for our table. One positive to add... the desserts were AMAZING!

Food was better than expected, service was nice prompt, being a full house they did well. Ambiance is amazing old fashion- did not expect the inside to be so full of character. Mia our server was wonderful!!

Highlights/Lowlights 1. Friendly Service 2. Average Food 3. Good/Basic Menu with a Lot of Options Stopped in at Good Company on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. We did not have a reservation but there were plenty of tables available for seating. Ambiance is cozy and a little dated which makes it charming. The space is really big with several dining rooms, a big bar area, and an events room. Our server was friendly and pretty quick to get our order in and get us drinks. The menu is big with a good selection of soups, sandwiches, salads, appetizers and entrees. This is a good menu for picky eaters as there are a lot of very basic pasta/sandwich/entree options. We ordered wine first. The wine list is very average/grocery store wine varieties. My friend and I split the queso dip and added beef. The appetizer was average. Queso was pretty good, chips just tasted like your standard grocery store variety. I had the California Chicken Salad for lunch. Again, this item was very average. You could definitely tell the chicken was pre-cooked/frozen as it had that slightly rubbery texture but not inedible. Overall, I enjoyed my time here and would probably visit again as you don't need a reservation and it's centrally located. The food, unfortunately, is not the star of the show here.

Great ambiance with quirky decor and a maze of rooms add to the dining experience. The food was good but unremarkable (above average pub fare). My wrap was very good, but I could not taste the avocado that was listed in the menu description. The French Dip was tasty. The French Fries could use improvement. My Brandy Old Fashioned was well made (our pleasant server politely steered me away from the cocktails that were premixed) - I ordered a second one! Good service and reasonable prices. Good Company is also a great wedding venue (they have separate rooms to accommodate wedding parties). I observed a wedding ceremony during one visit here.

This was our first visit to Good Company, we plan to return. We found the prices to not be out of line, even reasonable for the times. Our food was delicious and hot when served. Our server was very new, and although she needed a bit more training and support, she was very pleasant and personable. We enjoyed the historic focused decor. I selected -1 star as the lasagna only had cheese in 1 layer, with meat sauce between the rest.

Service was nice, seemed to be a lot of younger wait staff, some still training (glad to see they are recruiting successfully in the legit shortage). My tenderloin was awesome and they let me add the "loaded" option to my mashed potatoes. There were fairly busy for lunch but everything was timely. I'm eager to sit in the bar just for drinks sometime as I've never tried any while dining. Never a bad experience

Had a nice gluten free menu. Attentive waitress. Food was great! The gluten free bun was pretty good compared to others I've had. My husband loves the Cajun salmon. The queen and chips made a good appetizer.

This appears to be an older restaurant. When you arrive at the place the appearance outside makes you wonder what's inside. You are greeted by the host and she was very pleasant. It's really hard to tell if the place is clean or not because it is so dark inside. Our waitress greeted us and she was very pleasant but never cracked a smile. I ordered the French dip sandwich. Our food came out quite quickly and the sandwich was delicious! I was very happy with that. I had French fries with my sandwich and they were way too salty and I LOVE salty stuff. The bathrooms are dirty. That always makes me question the food when there are dirty bathrooms. I consider this an average place to eat in Appleton. Nothing I write home about lol

Their menu options were fantastic, the food was delicious, and the serving sizes were real portions that left every guest satisfied. We chose the plated dinner option, and it was flawless. One of the best parts was how easy they made the process. We handled everything over email--no endless meetings, no stress. I submitted our selections, and they delivered. They took care of setup, takedown, and provided a smooth, professional plated service that impressed everyone. They also recommended a local pastry chef who works independently, and that partnership was incredible. Stone Arch handled pickup, drop‑off, setup, and cleanup of all desserts free of charge simply because they love working with her. We ordered a two‑tier cake and matching mini cupcakes, sent her our inspiration, and she exceeded it tenfold. I would highly recommend Stone Arch Catering and their pastry partner. The food was outstanding, the service was seamless, and they helped make our wedding day unforgettable.

They have an upstairs tap room, an arcade, and a bar and restaurant downstairs. The service was all-around incredible. The employees were warm, friendly, and professional, and they seemed to know exactly how often to check in without interrupting our meal. They spaced out our drinks, appetizers, and entrees just the right amount. Our server Andrew was particularly great. We had a soda flight of their craft sodas for a super super reasonable price, and every single soda was spectacular. We're spoiled in the craft soda department by virtue of living in Wisconsin (Sprecher, Potosi, etc), but this was definitely the best craft soda we've had. Even the wacky flavors like blue raspberry were rich and flavorful--they didn't taste overwhelmingly artificial. I cannot recommend their soda enough, although I imagine their craft beer is pretty good too! We also had a delicious mocktail, which always goes a long ways in impressing us. All of our food was reasonably priced and so, so, fresh and delicious. The Bavarian pretzel with the beer cheese was heavenly!! We loved our entrees as well. Even something simple like the fries were perfectly done--fresh, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside I don't think we could have asked for a better experience. Everything we had their was top notch, and despite the number of things we ordered, our bill was not very high at all (about $50 for a mocktail, a craft soda flight and a soda pint, an appetizer and two entrees.

It was a Trio Diavolo, a trio of protein with squid pasta, and a red sauce. I didn't understand that the proteins were diced bits that were stirred into the red sauce pasta. I actually thought the protein was separate from a side of pasta. It disappointed me because I generally dislike seafood in red sauce, but honestly, that wasn't their fault so I still gave them a high rating. Service was friendly and playful. Pretty efficient and seemed to like their job. It is a beautiful restaurant with a pretty amazing view, even if the water is at very sad low levels. Maybe this is natural, I've never been here before. All of the wildlife/birds really enhanced the experience. Flocks of seagulls (not the band), and surprisingly large number of pelicans were wonderful to watch. You can see the riverfront exterior and distant bridge in my standard and 360° photos. One of our party forgot his ID and although everyone, including the waiter, agreed he was clearly of age, it's a house rule apparently that ID must be present. No big deal. Rest of our drinks arrive and we let him have a sip to try because the cocktails were decent. The waiter saw and screamed at him before waddling away to tattle on us to the manager. The other staff stared in horror but also in a way that said this wasn't the first time this guy lost it. Even the manager looked so embarrassed he had to deal with it. Manager started to say he would let us stay when the waiter screamed no and yanked our card from us. It was so pathetic watching a grown man in his 40s throw a huge tantrum. Manager intervened by taking the card away from the waiter and comped everything we had ordered while the waiter was pouting and sulking next to him. We suspect the waiter was homophobic because the reaction was so absurd and unnecessary that it has to be either homophobia and/or a mental health problem. Our friends swear their city is lovely but also acknowledge what happened could have been hate-motivated and they're sad that this just reinforced what many people think about small town Wisconsin. We went to a nearby establishment where we were treated like humans (and they served us clearly upper 30s men without having to check our IDs). On the plus side, we tip very well and are glad this waiter is not going home with an extra $100. Hopefully this restaurant knows what they need to do with this unstable staff member for the safety and comfort of their diners and other staff.
