Donna was very helpful with recommendations for catering an event with 70 guests. Food was very tasty and abundant.

Safe bet. They catered my daughter's outdoor baby shower in Dimond Park almost 2 years ago. You definitely feel like your event matters to her. She works within your budget, and supplies plentiful, tastey food, in a timely manner. The server was courteous and helpful, too. Not "elegant", but perfect for family events. Forever grateful read more

A Delicious Delight This is the 3rd event Good and Plenty has catered for our family. Crowd sizes have ranged from 18-70. Each time the food has been delicious, beautiful and plentiful. The owner Donna is extremely flexible and easy to work with. Going forward, if she is available, I don't need to look elsewhere. I highly recommend Good and Plenty. Nina F read more

I worked with Donna to provide appetizers and desserts for an event at Northbrae in Berkeley. She was very easy to communicate with, both by phone and email. She had lots of suggestions, and was very patient and flexible with changes and questions. She met me at the location about 5 weeks ahead to go over the set up and plans for location of tables. Etc. She provided rentals of all the tablecloths, glasses, dishes, and silverware. On the day of the event she and her 2 helpers arrived 2 hours ahead, prepared the room, prepared the food, and had all the beverages ready to be served and food ready on time. The food was tasty, and plenty of it. Especially liked the mushroom tarts, frittata, pear salad, and lemon tartlets. I enjoyed working with Donna and I absolutely will call her if we have a need in the future. read more

Donna recently catered a "small" (70 people) garden wedding at our home, which included appetizers, lunch, and dinner (buffet-style). Donna worked with me to create a menu. As the bride and (inexperienced) wedding planner, I was so happy to rely on Donna's expertise to ensure a successful event. Donna was warm and responsive, reliable, and timely. Every single dish was delicious, and there was plenty of food, even as the wedding guests lingered into the night. Everyone raved about the scrumptious food, and many guests said it was the best wedding they'd ever been to! It was so great to relax and know I was in good hands with respect to the catering. I highly recommend Good & Plenty Catering! read more

I found Donna on Yelp, and I'm glad I did. I wanted to serve appetizers following a concert in my home. She works out of her home, so most of her business is online. Her prices were competitive. She was a delight to work with, and offered me lots of choices. The food was really good, delivered on disposable/reuseable platters right on time. Don't miss the deviled eggs with two kinds of caviar. My guests enjoyed everything, but they weren't quite as hungry as Donna and I had thought, so we have been enjoying the leftovers, an added bonus. read more

We had a small celebration of life/piano recital for my mom's friend for about 20 people. I got on Yelp and saw Good and Plenty and thought they would be a good fit and they definitely were. Their selection of items was perfect and Donna was very helpful and accommodating. Everyone raved about the food and there was a ton of it. We highly recommend Donna, we're so happy we found her. read more

On the review page for Good & Plenty Catering you'll see the note, "Relax, I will take care of it." That couldn't be more true! We reached out to Donna with 2-days notice (on a Friday) to cater a 50-person luncheon following a graveside service after our mom's passing. Donna graciously said she would make it happen and swung into action. Within an hour of us calling, she had already drafted an appropriately simple yet delicious and abundant menu and spoken with the staff at the temple where the luncheon would be held to work through logistics. Donna's efficiency, thoroughness, and expertise freed us to focus all of our thoughts and energy on preparing for the funeral. As friends and family arrived at the temple, they could immediately eat, share stories and be present with each other. Donna is the definition of a professional. We are extraordinarily grateful and would recommend her, without hesitation, for any event or need. read more

As an event planner, have used this company before for various events, and just used them for my own daughter's baby shower recently. The food was fabulous as always, delivered on time, and followed covid procedures. The delicious food which included salmon, chicken skewers, sandwiches, pastries, all individual wrapped, and the dill sauce for the salmon and mango salsa were to die for. Highly recommend. read more

I hired Donna for a very small birthday gathering at my house on 12/22, which I know is during a very season for catering. Even though it was for a small group (6 people), Donna was attentive and came through with an impressive spread that fed everyone to the gills! I loved the amount of menu options available, and how Donna allowed me to choose and customize. We had three appetizers: decadent deviled eggs with crab, vegetarian beet wraps with cream cheese and olives, and these amazing savory corn Madelines with sour cream and caviar (yum!). In addition to that was a lentil salad with celery, feta, and goat cheese, as well as a big green salad with dried cherries, candied pecans, and a pear vinaigrette. The main entrée was a buttery sea bass in a tomato caper sauce that absolutely melted in your mouth. I was going to make seafood for our Christmas Eve dinner, but we had a couple pieces of the seabass leftover, so we had this again instead! Donna delivered everything to my door in Richmond, on a very trafficky, rainy evening and I am so appreciative. She made my birthday celebration special and still low-key/low-effort, which is just what I wanted, and the price was reasonable. I will definitely hire Good and Plenty again for any of my catering needs. read more

I am from Southern California and had a work event to plan in Berkeley. Donna was great in communicating over the phone and in email. The food was wonderful! Great flavors and very fresh. She was very communicative on sight as well and ensured the the food was at its peak when we were ready to eat. She made the prefect amount. There was enough food for everyone to eat (including a few drop ins) with many having seconds. This not to say under order, it was just that the food is so good people over ate! read more

Donna and Good and Plenty catered Terry's 75th Birthday dinner. The staff were wonderful. The food was very creative and very very good. They took care of all kinds of details, making our job hosting the party really easy. We appreciated the design of the food, advice on the menu, and the great way they rolled up their sleeves and simply did what needed doing. We have received great feedback about the food and the party was a great success by all accounts. It was a pleasure doing the event with Good and Plenty, from start to finish. From start to finish, Donna provided me with professional guidance and support as we prepared for my daughter's bat mitzvah. Her knowledge about our venue, timing, eating tendencies, and menu combinations made me confident that our event would be a huge success. Donna met with me multiple times to create the menu, accommodated special requests, and provided useful suggestions. On the day of the event, Donna and her crew were incredible. They were there on time and set-up the venue with little need for assistance. The appetizers and drinks were ready to go after the service and the main meal was served perfectly on time. All of the food was delicious and available in abundance for our 90-person guest list. We are very thankful to Good and Plenty Catering... and would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a high quality, experienced caterer! read more

I hired Donna at Good and Plenty Catering for an event at UC Berkeley, sight unseen and boy was I happy I did! After doing quite a bit of research on local caterers, I hired Donna who owns Good and Plenty to cater my husband's 50th birthday party. She was able to work with in my (limited) budget and helped refine my appetizer choices to fit the budget and find a balance between hot and cold appetizers, meat versus vegetarian, passed versus self serve. After I decided to go with Donna, she came to my house to look at the layout and then walked through the evening with me which enabled me to make a list of the items that I needed to buy to prepare for the party. Having not every had a catered party, I found this very helpful. The night of the event, she arrived early, got everything set up and once guests started arriving, began passing food. She was unobtrusive and efficient, and the food tasted great. At the end of the party, she cleaned everything up before leaving. I would definitely use Donna again to cater future parties. read more

We recently hired Good and Plenty Catering to provide food for our 50th anniversary party, and we were extremely pleased with the service and the food. Donna Weinberg's company really lives up to its name, and her motto: "Relax...I'll take care of it" expresses exactly her attitude. The food was delicious, artfully presented, and abundant. The staff was efficient, unobtrusive yet friendly. Highly recommended! read more

We were having our event at the Northbrae church and they recommended Donna along with a couple of other caterers. After some emailed bids we chose Good and Plenty and could not have been happier in our choice. Prompt responses, very flexible to help us make our budget work, great tips overall, and delicious and abundant food. I look forward to working with them again in the future. read more

We didn't end up working with Donna with our wedding, so this review is just for our communication. Donna was so easy to get in touch with, and she was really willing to work with us to get our needs met for our wedding. She was kind and creative and came up with a couple of great suggestions to have the best meal possible within our budget. Ultimately, a chef friend offered to cater our wedding at cost, so we decided on that instead. If that wasn't the case, we would have been thrilled to work with her. I wouldn't hesitate to hire Donna for any future events! read more

I used Good and Plenty to cater my son's Bar Mitzvah party for about 125 people, and everything went superbly. The food was great, there was indeed plenty of it (lots of leftovers to take home), and the service was excellent. During the planning of the party Donna helped to make sure everything was taken care of, and I felt reassured having her do the catering since she's done so many jobs over the many years she's been in business. I highly recommend her. read more

Our family had a fabulous experience this year working with Donna Weinberg and her Good and Plenty team on a weekend of Bat Mitzvah events. We could not have been happier. We found Donna to be a super well organized, no nonsense caterer that we could trust to come through with great food, super good service and a friendly, helpful wait staff. She came recommended by friends who worked with her on their Bat Mitzvah with great results. Good and Plenty=no worries at an otherwise highly stressful time!! read more

Donna and her staff catered my 50th Anniversary party for 160 and brunch for 20. Good food, capable staff, easy to work with, I agree. The range of possible items made it easy for my husband to narrow the field. Guests raved about the salmon. The deviled eggs disappeared quickly. She has a way of discussing the event and coordinating with a time schedule most excellent. I paid the bill with a check. She took a deposit and collected the balance at the conclusion. Very fair price. read more

Donna catered a small family dinner party in our small home. She came to the apartment in advance, planned out how to present the food and listened thoughtfully to our menu interests. On the night of the event she was timely, organized and brought absolutely delicious homey feeling food that we all loved. Salmon and green beans so easy to overcook, but not here. Donna has a great touch and beautiful sense of presentation. I highly recommend this caterer. We will certainly use her again at next opportunity. read more

We used Good and Plenty Catering for our daughter's wedding party and were very pleased with their services, knowledge, & professionalism. It was a pleasure to work with Donna, the owner, as she helped us put together a menu of our choosing. Our guests clearly enjoyed her food evidenced by how little of everything was left at the end! In planning, Donna met with us to select a menu that would meet our guests' varied dietary needs and also be delicious. She was very responsive by phone & email. She did a walk through several weeks before the wedding and gave good suggestions for setting up the event. On the day of the wedding, Good and Plenty arrived two hours before it started. They were flexible with last minute changes and unexpected cold and windy weather! Donna & her assistants, Gail & Kurt, were great at quietly blending in, interacting with the guests, & providing top notch catering. Donna had many requests for her recipes. The party was a success and we had had a great time. And, the cost came in under budget. Donna's motto, "Relax I'll take care of it" is the real deal!!! read more

I have used this catering company for two major events (my kids bat and bar mitzvahs) with over 100 guests at SF and Marin venues. We were very happy with the food and with how professional and pleasant the team was at the event itself. Donna is very well-organized and proactive in the planning, for example reaching out to the venue staff and making sure everything was in order, dealing with rental ordering, staying ahead of deadlines for everything, giving ideas for the menus. We would use them again and have recommended to family and friends - it really took the worry out of that aspect of the event and we very much enjoyed the food as well. Thank you Donna! read more

Donna recently successfully catered my parents' wedding anniversary party for 50 guests, which was set in a particularly challenging locale. It was at a very remote park with picnic tables, however was meant to feel like a more formal party setting. She gladly broke her back for me as my parents continually changed their minds about what linens, dishes, etc... they wanted, how and when deliveries of rental equipment should be managed, and other details. She was very professional and flexible with the menu, and the guests as well as my parents were very pleased with the food. Her price was extremely reasonable, and service at the event was great. I would definitely recommend her. read more

Donna of Good and Plenty Catering was awesome and her food was soooooo amazing! I found her on Yelp and was on a super budget. She let me build my menu and even let me sample the chicken dish and mash potatoes I wanted, which she said she usually does not do. Once I tasted the chicken and potatoes I was so excited to have her food at my wedding. My menu consisted of pecan crusted chicken with mango salsa, veggie lasagna, mash potatoes, grilled veggies, a green salad, and dinner buns. All of my guests raved about the food and if it wasn't my own wedding and I wasn't in a tight dress I would have went up for seconds and thirds! Many of the guests did. Every dish was sooooo good! Donna was extremely helpful during the wedding planning process and met with me a couple of times to plan in person and even stopped by my work to drop things off. She was good at responding quickly to emails and phone calls too. She even let me borrow light strands, salt and pepper shakers, and a couple of other things for the reception. I was nervous about hiring a caterer because it is such a big part of the wedding and I wanted our guests to be happy. I am so glad I chose Good and Plenty and would definitely recommend Donna for anyone's occasion. She was so sweet! I did not know anything about her catering team but they were great on my big day. read more

I recently attended an engagement party catered by Donna,of "Good and Plenty Catering". Appetizers, dinner and dessert was served to about 20 guests in a private home. Everything was so organized, it is great to go to a party when everyone is relaxed and enjoying themselves. The food was delicious: the apps were tasty (loved the Eggplant Caponata & BBQ Beef Tartlets), dinner was nicely presented (caesar salad/roasted veggies/potatoes/beef) and a lovely assortment of bite size treats for dessert (yummy lemon tarts). Professional, friendly service and they left the kitchen/party areas clean & tidy. read more

Donna provided so many platters of delicious finger food treats. Not only did our guests enjoy the beautifully prepared menu during our party, but many were delighted to take home some of their favorites. We were able to enjoy deviled eggs, lox, bagels, dolmas, the tiny potatoes with the delicious horseradish sauce, the chicken cashew pate and fresh fruit for the entire weekend. It was wonderful and we enjoyed every bite. The business name is certainly appropriate; "Good and Plenty" says it all. Donna provided some very helpful suggestions and delivered the food on time as promised. read more

We hired Good and Plenty Catering when we came to the realization that entertaining family and friends and cooking, serving and being the gracious hosts was not going to be the best combination for a pleasant evening. We recalled going to several events catered by Donna Weinberg of Good and Plenty Catering. Hiring Donna was our solution to sitting down with our guests rather than trying to be all things at once. What did Donna serve? Just a few items: pecan crusted chicken with mango salsa, garlic roasted potatoes with sun dried tomatoes and for our guest that shy away from meat or chicken, there were wonderful vegetable and fruit platters along with mini mushroom tarts and deviled eggs. From the appetizers to the desserts, everything was delicious, and beautifully presented. When Donna and her crew left, the kitchen was immaculate. Would I call upon Good and Plenty Catering for another event? You bet! read more
