Dude,... Brandon does amazing work. Here are some examples: Changed a faucet that dripped for YEARS that I was told was not fixable. Not only was it not dripping but he closed up the rusty old hole and made the tile look like the hole was never there. Had the uuuugliest fluorescent light in the living room, like "Joe vs the volcano" level, he replaced it, made it look like it was just all a bad dream. He replaced and fixed the kitchen door so it was even with the floor, when the door would open it would get stuck because the floor was not even, so he did some mathematical engineering and got it to work. He stabilized the dried out wooden pergola over the patio with wood and new metal supports so it didn't have to be torn down, saved a lot of money. He was able to design and construct from scratch a gorgeous washer and dryer enclosure that replaced a UGLY UGLY termite eaten shed that disintegrated when you barely touched it, rusted nails coming out, doors falling off the hinges. Throughout the process, he was very communicative, asking questions that involved functional design, placement, aesthetics. Even matched the hardware to the fences, which really was supercool. He also replaced a variety of ceiling fans, ceiling lights, bathroom faucet, drain, lights, kitchen drains, electrical plugs, fix a fence, and problem solve regarding how to hide wires, electrical cords. Long story short, I would highly recommend Brandon for house repairs, fixes, and design problem solving. His work is very thorough, detail and quality oriented, and he is very professional and is really an expert at what he does.

The photos are before and after of a weird built in that didn't make sense in a bathroom. He built it into a useful cabinet with a mirror. The other photo is an oddly built wall that he turned into a useful storage space. Would definitely recommend!

HIRE WITH EXTREME CAUTION !!!!!!!…read more DO NOT PAY HIM ANY ADVANCED PAYMENTS OUTSIDE OF WHAT IS STANDARD BY LAW !!!!!!! POOR COMMUNICATION !!!!! Marcus is meticulous and his finished product is awesome, IF / WHEN he finishes it. We initially hired Marcus back in May 2021 to do a custom accent wall and hidden doors. There were a few set backs and the "finished" product looks great. While working on this job we had him complete a custom mantle and stair tread trim. We are very happy with those two projects and mostly happy with the custom doors/accent wall. "Scheduling issues" delayed the hallway project but Marcus threw in painting the bathroom trim because we had been pretty flexible with things. Our house like most others is a challenge with wavy walls, floors, and ceilings and he did a fantastic job making everything look great. We initially agreed upon a 50% down payment on the accent wall/door project with the remainder due when it was completed. When we added the mantle and stairs, he agreed to take payment on those when he finished them. We paid promptly once those 2 projects were completed. There were a few set backs during these 3 projects but nothing that seemed out of the ordinary. As we neared the end of the hallway/door project in early August 2021, he asked if we could pay him the remainder of the balance for the hallway/door project because he was struggling to get more work during COVID. We liked the quality of his work and asked Marcus if he could build us a desk and bookcase. We worked out a design and Marcus promised a one month timeline for completing the project and he offered us a discount if we paid for the project in full. We felt he would complete it due to our experience with him for the first 3 projects. THIS IS WHERE WE F'D UP!!!! The desk was supposed to be completed by September 17th, 2021. He was in communication and led us to believe he was going to be delayed a week because he was sick. Then excuse after excuse, no show, ghosting, you name it. I drove over to his shop to see our finished pieces that he said he had and discovered him working on another project. He had nothing started on our project. So on Monday November 22, he drops off the desk. There was pitting and scuff marks on the desk top, yet no bookcase. On Thursday December 18, 2021, he started to install the bookcase. We are still trying to get him to come finish the project. Update 01-29-22: After posting my review Marcus finally got in gear to get this "finished". The bookcase and desk are installed. There are fresh scratches on the front frame of the bookcase and the cabinet lights quit after 4 hours. Had enough and pulled the plug on him. I am going to hire a painter and electrician to finish the project. Sad ending. Dude needs help.

My appointment was rescheduled four separate times, often last minute. As a mom of 10-month-old twins, my schedule is very structured, so the repeated changes were especially disruptive. I understand things come up, but the lack of reliability was disappointing. I ultimately had to move forward with another company. **Update: After the owner's response, I went back and reviewed our messages and he's correct that there were two reschedules, not four. I appreciate the clarification and understand that one of the cancellations was due to a family emergency. Hope all is well with your mother. That said... scheduling delays, limited availability and multiple reschedules still impacted my timeline and planning, which ultimately led me to move forward with another company. I understand that unexpected situations come up, but reliability and consistency are important factors when choosing a service. Sharing this for transparency so others can make an informed decision.

After getting a few quotes, we decided to go with SoCal Woodworks, and I'm so glad we did. James and his team were an absolute pleasure to work with: professional, punctual, courteous, and always respectful of our home. James patiently addressed all of our questions and offered thoughtful, expert guidance, especially when we found ourselves wavering over details (who knew choosing the perfect shade of blue could take 20 minutes?). The craftsmanship and attention to detail were truly exceptional. The final result is stunning, and I'm already looking forward to working with them on future projects.

The job was to take 2 weeks. After 4 weeks, not one room was complete. My home has been unlivable. I gave him 50% down which was $5000. After a week he asked for $2500 saying that if he didn't get it he couldn't pay his guys to return to complete the work. Over the course of the next couple weeks he asked for more money to pay the workers and for more materials. When questioned about why this was necessary he refused to give a direct answer, only letting me know that without it the job couldn't be completed. I'm a single mom. I worked for 10 years to make this project happen. All of which I told him. Honestly, once I gave him the initial $5000, I couldn't afford to pay someone else to finish the work, so I felt I had to keep giving him the money to ensure the job would be completed. After $9500, please see the pictures to understand just a portion of what he left me with. Not only is his craftsmanship poor, he is a swindler. I am now stuck trying to figure out this mess. Please learn from my mistake and don't hire him. Note: I only gave him one star because I needed to in order to post the review. Please read to see our text message exchange. Not ok! Also, the only way I got him to respond was by texting from a friend's phone number. Matt, the flooring was $2.25 per square foot. I have the receipt and can post. My condo is just under 1500 square feet... 1472 to be exact. Do the math. Not a $20,000 job. You wrote the contract, that's what we agreed on, and you abandoned the job. You have to live with yourself for how you do people, Matt. Look at other reviews. I wish I would have. I'm not the only one.
