I'm a regular at this location and just had a horrible experience at the palisades park location so that led me to want to come and post a review for my local one. I've had great experiences here with my drink made promptly and correctly. A couple of the employees memorized my order and are very friendly. Definitely recommend this location. Peak wait times are right when school gets out or a hot weekend day in the afternoon. Otherwise I'm usually able to get in and out very fast. read more

OK, I do not come here often but I was so excited to come here after several years and decided to get a large Taro bubble tea . Super disappointed especially when they stare at you waiting for a tip and it's all ice! I mean 90% full of ice horrible - never coming back! read more

Continued fan of this typical and familiar bubble tea spot with adjustments for ice and sugar. Most Gong Cha's feel cramped and after you order, you're stuck trying to find a spot to wait along the window. But the product is consistent, which is key. You can either order on the kiosk or by going to the register. Join their rewards program with your phone to score discounts. They're typically not that great but sometimes you come across one that is actually worth it. The location is prime and easily seen from the street. read more

My go to to pick up my pick me up afternoon boba tea . I love green tea passion fruit with tapioca pearls and coconut jelly! No sugar - yum

I stopped by this GC store on a weekday noon to get a Thai Milk Tea with bubbles. The store was empty but it was clean. I put in my order right away. The barista made the drink quickly. But the wrapper on top was not properly sealed. The drink started to spill as I was trying to shake it mix it. The tea didn't taste good either. But the bubbles were. Rare disappointment from this store. read more

I just waited for 15 minutes for a slushee that I never received because the girl was busy taking outside orders instead of addressing the people waiting in line. Three people in front of me left because she did not attempt to greet them or take their order or even say give me a few minutes to complete the other orders. I will never come back to this store again. read more

Great bubble tea! I always get dirty brown sugar bubble tea. It's sugar cane sugar instead of regular sugar. You can really taste the different. The bubble is always good quality. I'm glad seeing gong cha opening up more locations. read more

This location is really small and smells super weird. My friend and I literally waited outside for our drinks because of it but the boba was good read more

Gong Cha is my favorite bubble tea chain. So imagine my excitement when I found out that one is opening in my neighborhood. In my opinion, the teas they use is what sets them apart from other bubble tea places. Even after the tea is mixed with milk, ice, and other things, the aroma of their teas still come through in a very distinct way. And that's why I find their bubble teas just a cut above the rest. Other than their bubble teas, I also love their milk foam teas. They're on the lighter side when compared to the bubble teas, and probably slightly healthier. read more

Hi Allen K. Nice photo you chose. You seem upset and quite passive aggressive. Your prices are posted and I'm ok with it if the product is good. Yours is not. So you stating the price is reflective of your products, lol. No. Your tapioca isn't fresh and your drinks not even cold. Flavor profiles are weak and your shop is not clean. Your employees are in sweatpants and sweatshirts and come to take orders between scrolling on their phones. Stop yourself. Humble yourself. If you read my review before angrily slamming your fingers on your phone you'd have seen I said the smell had to be something they were eating. You're so angry and grabbing at straws. It's sad. Unfortunate for you. This takeout bubble tea shop is fortunate to be in this affluent area with little alternatives. I am sure it will still be rather short lived. Between the poor product and your angry little man complex response, it's doomed. Thanks for trying though! Id say see you around but it's doubtful. Good luck, little fella! read more

The staff is great and very helpful. Whenever we go to Jersey we go to Gong Cha. Drinks are yummy!

They have a loot of options and offer lots of customizations. I decided to have their burnt brown sugar milk tea. It was delicious, especially after a light dinner. Can't go wrong with Gong Cha read more

Gong Cha - Menu - Bubble Tea Near Me - Closter, New Jersey

My partner and I stopped in on a Wednesday night because their sign caught our eye. I was really excited to try a different bubble tea place as we entered the small location. The menu was a bit overwhelming, but we figured out what we wanted to order pretty quickly. We both selected fruity bubble teas and waited in the compact area on the side for our orders. We received the drinks in a reasonable amount of time. Plunging my straw into my lemon tea, I was immediately met with a chunk of something hard. I thought the pearls had gone bad, but when I took out the offending item, it was what appeared to be a hard, gummy-like piece of dried fruit. This pretty much ruined the drink for me, as I've never had fruit pieces in my bubble tea and I didn't know it would be included. Perhaps I would have liked my drink more if I had known to ask for this to not be included, but I was definitely not a fan. read more

Gong Cha - a blackboard with instructions on it - Bubble Tea Near Me - Closter, New Jersey

Staff incredibly rude. They made an error, never apologized, and seemed put out when I told them this is not what I ordered. Staff (young lady) said well I assumed... you should not assume if you do not know. I would not recommend this location. I'd rather travel further to a different location than go back here. Also place is incredibly dusty. Since I was there while they remade my order, I had time to look around. The exit sign has a thick amount of dust, as do the wires leading to their cameras. Yuck!! read more

They have a huge bottle of sanitizer by the pickup window. When one of my kids used it, it squirted into the other kid's eye. It must be years old because it got a gross stringy substance all over the kids' hands. When I asked to use the clearly-signed bathroom to wash their disgusting hand sanitizer off the kids' hands, they said the boss wouldn't allow it. Disgusting experience. Overpriced, anyway. $8/person by the time you're out the door for a disturbingly warm drink, despite ice. read more

After getting bubble tea here many times, I don't think they standardize what light ice, extra bubbles, or 50% sugar means. It's really hit or miss depending on who makes it. I find that half the time I pay for extra bubbles, they forget to add extra bubbles and many times it seems like I get a few extra bubbles only- it almost never reaches the lines they have on the cup. In the past year, it has actually gotten worse, they really skimp on the toppings read more

Best bubble tea around. I love the lemon grapefruit ai-yu (sp?) with coconut jelly, and the basil seed lemon winter melon. Kids love the strawberry milk tea and the brown sugar thingy. Went here after 2nd disappointment in Kung Fu down the street, with incorrectly advertised hours. Their loss. Only took away 1 star on principle for having to pay over $6 for iced tea. read more

First time trying boba and honestly I was so impressed!!! My boyfriend and I both ordered the dirty brown sugar milk tea. It was so delicious. Perfectly sweet and satisfying!! The boba is delicious and the service is nice (by nice I mean quick)! The drinks always come up delicious. I LOVE boba.

We loved Gong Cha (this one in Closter) and we ordered from them almost every time we order from Doordash since this place is a delivery add on. Tonight we cancelled our order and will never order from them again due to their customer service. Tonight we ordered our regular items which usually come to over $50. The toppings (like pudding and more boba) are extra which we have no problem paying for of course. As soon as we placed our order, the man at Gong Cha called my husband and said that he cannot give us any toppings even though we paid for it on the Doordash app. For example, I ordered the grapefruit aiyu with peach star jelly (which is extra cost). The man said he can't give us any of those toppings because it shows as a comment on their end. We have no idea what that means and we don't care, we paid for additional toppings. He was going to give us bare drinks without any of the extra toppings we paid for, and he refused to try to resolve the issue with us. He was just going to take the extra money we paid for the additional toppings but not give it to us! The extra additions to the drinks aren't cheap. The staff at Gong Cha pretty much tried to take our money. read more

Gong Cha - Large Strawberry Yogurt with white pearls and pearls - Bubble Tea Near Me - Closter, New Jersey

Line was out the door andbthey had 1 person working who was barely moving.. Store was beyond filthy with garbage thrown everywhere.

I got the brown sugar tea with extra pearls and it was really good! Definitely recommending this place to family and friends :)

Very bad customer service. I ordered a mango drink which I always get (I have never ordered a strawberry) and was given the same drink but strawberry. When I asked for a mango one politely, the employee argued with me saying that I said strawberry, despite the fact that i said mango (my friend heard me say mango as well). The women was extremely rude when we were nothing but nice and the customer service was terrible. I hope this women faces consequences for her behavior and i won't be tipping them any time soon. So rude. Ew. read more

So happy this location opened. It's a little closer and just across the street from one of my favorite restaurants (Mami Eatery). If you've been to other Gong Cha locations, the menu is the same. If you haven't, try it out! My go-to flavor is black milk tea, but I've enjoyed everything else I've tried from them, too. Recently got my wisdom teeth removed so I couldn't have tapioca pearls like usual :( but the black milk tea tastes delicious on its own anyways! This location is pretty small. Especially with social distancing, only one group can fit inside (maybe 4 people?) There was no one ahead of me so my order was made very quickly and I was only in the store for a few minutes. I hope this place does well so they stay open and I can have my bbt fix from a closer spot - so please support them hehe. Covid Measures: worker was wearing a mask, plexiglass at the register and pickup counter, and hand sanitizer is available. read more

I like going to this gong cha location. The drinks are made fast without long wait times. There are just the right amount of bubbles added to each drink. The strawberry matcha is the best drink on the menu. The optional strawberry pearls are definitely recommended. read more

cute tiny place, street parking. since it was my first time, i got caught off guard with the how much sugar percentage question for my mango slush with pearls. 30% was more than enough, had flavor and not that powdered flavor like other places and not too sweet. like one of the other reviews mentioned the whole store was wet, floors had that thin layer of wetness like it was raining outside and everyone's shoes were wet, which it definitely wasn't. glass and doors all were wet, it was weird cause it wasn't too cold outside and it wasn't humid inside either. however with that said, i will definitely come back to try other flavors. read more

Gong Cha - caramel chocolate and mango slush with pearls - Bubble Tea Near Me - Closter, New Jersey

My favorite drink was a Little Peach Crush Slush but recently Gong Cha finished the series it was in. I give Gong Cha 3 stars because I think Gong Cha should bring back The Peach Series or come up with new awesome drinks read more

I enjoy Gong Cha very much. I've been here before several times and had no problem with my drinks. These days, the boba has a metal-like aftertaste. I also ordered a Milk Tea with 70% percent sugar and when receiving the drink and tasting, I was dissatisfied with what I've consumed. Overall, the service is very nice and kind. I just hope the boba pearls were normal like they were back then. read more

I go to gong cha all the time and I've never had a poor experience. Today April 15th at 11:21 the lady working here mixed up my friends order. she ordered a mango milk slush and i heard her order. The lady finished making our drink and she made a strawberry yogurt slush. My friend nicely said I'm pretty sure i ordered the mango. And the lady responded saying "no you said strawberry". my friend not wanting to cause trouble went quiet but i said to the lady I'm 100% sure she ordered mango is there any way we can get the mango instead. And the woman said in a rude tone "I'm 100% sure she ordered strawberry" then refused to serve us. I have never seen worse custom service. Insisting that she was right when we both saw what she ordered. It was upsetting and took me aback. I hope gong cha can hire better staff. read more

This place has really good bubble tea. I'm a fan of the passion fruit tea with bubbles. The bubbles are soft and tasty. My girlfriend really likes the mango milk slushy. They have a variety of options with green tea, black tea, milk, almond milk, etc. It's a small location and gets busy often, but the wait is quick read more

I order delivery from this place almost weekly. I know, I'm gross lol. They are always accurate with my very specific orders. They have the perfect amount of bubbles, always generous with it that I never have to order Extra bubbles. Flavor is always on point, unlike other boba places like Kung Fu (too Americanized and too sweet! Yuck!). Almost didn't want to review this place because I don't want anyone to know about my fav boba place haha. Gong Cha is the real deal folks. Not sure why this place would get lower than 5 stars! read more
