Gondolier pizza is a pizza and Italian establishment located in Chattanooga Tennessee. My family and I was stopped on a road trip and staying nearby at element hotel when we were in need of a late night dinner. So pizza was a safe call. We like to eat local when traveling and this place was nearby so we called in a pickup order since it was close to closing time. We ordered a large cheese pizza, Spaghetti with Meat Sauce, and my oldest got a Gyro on a Pita. The establishment was located in a very empty almost abandoned looking shopping center. We walked in there was one worker who greeted us. Outside of that the place was empty and ready for closing. Decor was traditional Italian themed and had some dining in options. Service wise was ok. The worker was friendly and the food took about 5-10 min longer than quoted. Taste wise the pizza was very average. Almost akin to oven pizza from a department store. My wife said her spaghetti was also bland and just ok. My daughter did enjoy her pita though. So she was satisfied more than the rest of us. Overall it did the trick. A quick supper and a new pizza place under our belt to try. I can imagine this isn't the best pizza Chattanooga has to offer so maybe one day in future I can try a better variety.

Small cheese pizza with extra cheese

First timer at gondolier pizza. The pizza was yummy. I especially liked the extra crispy crust. Buy one get one cheese pizza is a win. I called in an order and the young man was very helpful and nice. Food was hot and ready when I picked it up 20 min later. I will definitely order from here again

Lemon pepper wings ($8.75) looked great but were very disappointing. Strangely bland (hard to believe)

Don't kill me, but this food is just okay (even for Chattanooga standards). I've only been here once and I got two small pizzas: one with extra cheese and one with mushrooms. I also got an order of lemon pepper wings. The pizza and, more surprisingly, the wings were bland to me. As I was eating the wings, I was honestly trying to understand what was happening because I saw there was seasoning on the chicken. My guess is they fry plain wings with no seasoning and then sprinkle the lemon pepper on top, and a lot of that just falls off the chicken. I was disappointed cos when I found out they made LP wings, I was very excited as that's my favorite flavor of wing. I've had much much better. The pizza crust was nice; it's a soft dough. The amount of mushrooms on my pizza was despicable. Both pizzas were also bland. And before anyone says the toppings give flavor, I've had many slices of cheese pizza that were delicious. If the sauce and cheese aren't bomb, it's likely the pizza will be mediocre no matter how many toppings you put on it. Honestly, the only thing that saved my experience was the buy 1 get 1 deal and the amount of wings included in an order (at least I could doctor then up at home). I've heard so much about this place and the reviews are good, but I was really disappointed in the food. I'm still searching for a pizza place around here that really knocks my socks off. I may try Gondoliers one more time; maybe they had an off day. My expectations are forever altered, though.

Pepperoni pizza

i came in to get my pick-up order & they gave me the wrong one at first. luckily i checked before i left. then i asked for some parmesan & red pepper packets, they gave me 3, then i asked for some extra, i received 3 more for 2 medium pizzas. the ownership has changed from what i hear, and you can really tell. the prices, along with the quality is changing, and not for the better. i've been going here over 20 years, and never had a problem until now.

Meatball Sub Sandwich

This restaurant used to be good, but tonight we got take out from here and it was disgusting. I got a meatball sub. The meatballs are supposed to be homemade, but what I got was a roll with meat sauce, peppers and no meatballs. When I called to complain, I got somebody on the phone that said, "What do you want me to do about it, I just work here. The managers aren't here." I paid 15 bucks for a meatball sandwich plate that had no meatballs, and got nothing but hostility when I called to complain. Completely unacceptable.

Food looks great, however for $75 on Grubhub, I think the pizzas are smaller than expected.
Christopher J.

Good food and quality but don't order in grub hub. Too pricey. If I had to have them again would rather go to restaurant.

Naming your sandwich shop Tasty Heaven Sandwich Shop "Heaven" is a bold strategy. That's not…read morebranding... that's a performance guarantee. I needed something quick, light, and close to our company office in Chattanooga. The ratings were strong, the reviews looked promising, and frankly when you call yourself Heaven, expectations go up fast. I'm not asking for miracles... but a great sandwich would be a nice start. First clue something was... developing... was the sign. Still a banner out front. Which usually means one of two things: 1. Brand new and figuring things out. 2. Someone lost a bet with a printing company. Inside felt like a sandwich shop that's been around for decades. Worn floors, chalkboards tossed up on the wall like they lost a game of darts, and the menu scribbled across them in chalk. Not charming-chaotic. More like... chaotic-chaotic. No problem. I'm here for the sandwich. I ordered the #1, because when a place names a sandwich after itself, that's usually the mic drop item. The "Heaven Classic." If you're going to plant your flag, plant it on the best hill. It came out fast. Very fast. Suspiciously fast. I brought it back to the office, opened it up, took a bite... and immediately felt like I'd been transported to the deli aisle of a gas station. "If this sandwich were any more average, it would come with an Oscar Mayer jingle." The bread was actually pretty good. Nice texture, solid foundation. But the filling? It felt like someone stopped at a convenience store, grabbed a pack of cold cuts, and said, "Yep... this'll do." Now here's where the plot twist comes in. Afterward I started digging through the reviews because the disconnect was wild. People were raving about this place. Five stars everywhere. I'm thinking, "Did I walk into the wrong universe?" Turns out... most of those reviews are for Steamboat. Looks like the place changed names sometime late last year. Same location, new name, very different experience. So the glowing reputation may belong to a former tenant. Which leads to my final thought... If this is Heaven, I'd hate to see the alternative. I'm landing at three stars, mostly because I'm feeling generous today and the bread deserved better than the situation it was put in. Would I go back? Probably not. Chattanooga has way too many great sandwich spots to gamble on purgatory again.

The owner, Greg of course, came over and introduced himself and shook my hand. He asked where we were from and we had a nice conversation about our journeys to Chattanooga residency (both of us were originally from IL!). We ordered the Greg Special (turkey and pimento cheese with jalapeños) and The Italian. Both sandwiches were outstanding but The Italian was the best sandwich I've ever had. No joke. We will be back and I'm going to look for opportunities to use them for catering business lunches! As I said, the service was outstandingly friendly and the establishment was super clean. Please give them a try and I promise you will NOT be disappointed! So, I have an update! My wife and I returned today (two weeks later) and took a friend with us. We got the Italian again and our friend got the club. The place was much busier this time (the weather was much better) but the food was just as outstanding as was the service! The establishment itself was just as clean as well in spite of the increased traffic! Greg was gracious and let us sample their baked desserts (thank you Greg) and they were delicious as well! We spied a chili pie on the menu this time and I am looking forward to Fall Weather to give that a try! Thanks again y'all for another great experience!

No signage warning of the fees, no warning from the cashier. He quoted me the total price of the order, but the receipt showed a higher amount than he quoted due to the stealth junk fee. Had I been told there would be a junk fee, I would have paid cash. But they hid the junk fee until after the sale was made. It's so tiring getting hit with stealth junk fees. They can charge what they wish for their product, but for crying out loud, STOP it with the stealth fees and honestly price your product that includes all of your costs except for sales tax.. If you think you have to gin up a fee for something, put it on the menu, on the entry door, and at the register. Or better yet, raise your menu prices by whatever amount you think you need and give customers a discount off of the menu price for cash. Credit/debit cards are used for nearly 80% of retail purchases. Your product prices should reflect the way the vast majority of your customers pay. No one gets an unpleasant surprise that way, and you are being honest with your customers. It's not that hard to do...

Yellow deli is one of the best restaurants in Chattanooga in terms of tourist experience due to it being truly once of the first yellow delis. Although the staff might be a bit off putting at times, they are very kind and respectful of the customers that come in--all of them are very gentle and soft spoken. If you are in a rush this is not the place to go because their service time is respectfully slower than most. I am vegetarian, and get the veggie burger a majority of my visits, and it is TO DIE FOR in terms of flavor. I have been aching to get my hands on the recipe because it really is that good. On that note, it is difficult to eat at times because the patty comes apart, I would ask for a fork and I'm sure you will receive. Before I went vegetarian my go to was the deli rose and the saltiness of the deli meat with the sweetness of the sauce is unbelievable. The bread is house made and is undoubtedly fresh and delicious.
