Turtle, beef and chicken

Fire. Line can get long but worth it .... definitely a goto after drinking if you can make it before closing ...

Turtle Chicken Sandwich, Baja style, no rice.

Heaven! If you only eat one thing in Cincinnati, this must be it. Debated about moving here just to have these. See the face of g-d yummy! Did already eat? Don't care...order this! Crazy filling yet I still wanted another even though I was full.

Okokokokokokayyyyyy. This is just one of those awesome concept places that also delivers with style, flavors and price. There should be one Gomez in every state, not necessarily a major city, but there needs to be some community of people pre/post gaming at a Gomez everywhere. The turtle is a crazy invention and yet not cuz it's super familiar. It's a Crunchwrap supreme with a slightly hardened cheese shell. The chicken with Diablo style was great, really should have gotten the special that was Cali style with delicately fried fish. Good drinks as well.

Gomez never disappoints! I will preface by saying I've never gotten anything but the Turtle, but it has never done me wrong so I see no reason to! Fresh ingredients, incredible flavor, and huge portions! I have tried all the variations and I enjoyed every one. I recommend the Baja because of the sweet element and the guac is perfection. There is a walk up window or seating to accommodate everyone. Go and enjoy!

I was intrigued by the "turtle" I read about during my Cincy food tour research. I made a point of eating here if I was able to drum up any GI space during our trip. We were able to stop in before leaving for the airport on our last half day. We had already eaten 2 breakfasts and this was lunch so GF and I decided to share one. She also went rogue and ordered not only chips and queso but a LARGE chips and queso. The place was empty upon our arrival and actually looked closed but it was a quite a relief that it wasn't. The person working there was patient with us while we obnoxiously discussed our decision making out loud before placing the order. She recommended the diablo for the spicy-inclined as well as the southwest. I was thrilled to see tofu as a protein option which we chose to go in our southwest turtle. I also chose of the impressive number of beers they have on draught. I noticed after ordering this that they also have margaritas and some other fun concoctions. The food came out pretty quickly. The turtle was bundled like a warm baby in foil and accompanied by one of their sauces. It is quite photogenic when you open it up. It was pretty stuffed with rice, some lettuce, corn salsa, a few jalapeño strips, peppers, and a really deliciously flavored tofu. Last but not least was the cheddar cheese which was not only inside but also crisped on the outside of the turtle to perfection. This was very filling and the texture combo was on point. I do think the refreshing but umami taste of a hot sauce, tomato-based salsa, or diced tomatoes would have elevated the shit out of this. THIS was what was missing for me. The queso was very good as well. It was warm and served a little chameleon with the viscosity, at first dip, it was thicker but with a gentl stir, it became more liquid. The chips tasted like they were homemade, nice and crisp and not too thick. The inside is pretty cool too. I went to use the bathroom before leaving (pineapple cider, you understand) and there was zero paper whatsoever in there. No TP. No paper towels. Sigh. Not sure what that means about the staff washing their hands but I don't want to speculate.

I am in love with the food and the flavors here. I love the chips and queso, and their burrito bowls. Sadly I can't have their turtle since I'm gluten free, but I have only heard and seen wonderful things from my friends who have eaten it. Beware - the habanero sauce is truly very spicy!! My partner can handle most habanero sauces, and this one got him good. ;)

Located in a lively area of OTR, Gomez is a unique fast casual Mexican joint. The signature item is the Turtle, which is basically a crunch wrap on steroids. The southwestern and baja wraps were flavorful and colorful and the diablo wrap was decent. While it packed a big punch of spice, the spiciness overpowered the other flavors. The chips and queso were good as well. The queso was a bit too thin but had a satisfying flavor. The space can get quite cramped, but that is just a testament to how popular it is!

My favorite takeout spot in the city... get the turtle if you go. It's like a burrito crossed with a Crunchwrap. Extra Baja sauce is my jam!

The only reason it's not a 5/5 is because I need to try more of the food but every time I have been there and had it it was fantastic.

Cantina - Queso with chorizo

Crown Cantina exceeded our expectations for brunch. The Breakfast Burrito was packed with flavor,…read moregenerously portioned, and wrapped in a perfectly crisp tortilla that gave every bite great texture. It was so substantial that I only made it through half. I enjoyed it with chorizo, but for a modest surcharge, they will make it with brisket! The Al Pastor Hash was the standout. It was beautifully balanced, full of bold, authentic flavors, and expertly prepared. One of my brunch-mates spends much of the year traveling through Latin America, and he was genuinely impressed. Excellent food, generous portions, and a memorable brunch experience. We'll definitely be back and look forward to trying more of the menu! Attentive service and a beautiful location in Downtown Cincinnati's quiet Pendleton neighborhood made the morning perfect.

Surprised I've not heard of this place before my brother suggested we try it (some Bengals player…read morerecommended it on a podcast I guess). This is a solid place! I didn't think I'd find something that could compete with Bakersfield but this does. It has unique flare without being over the top like some places can. Like pairing pickled veggies with my shrimp? Yes please! Ceviche was a little on the smaller side. Its flavor was there but price to size wasn't worth it to me. Recommend the grilled esquites as a side. I can't NOT get the charro beans because they were addicting. I could live on them in the winter. Tacos were so ed how you'd expect with homemade corn tortillas. Delicious, but I'd say Bakersfield pulls ahead just a touch with the tacos. Camerones Saadi's was delicious! I'd get it again, but still want to try some of their other mains. I did try dessert. Mind you I'm not huge on tres leches as it is so it might not be surprising that it wasn't my favorite. It was a tad on the drier side and textured (this was coconut tres leches so probably where the texture came from). I'd skip dessert the next go round maybe, unless they had some other fun seasonal things to try. Everyone enjoyed their cocktails as well! Especially the mezcal-based ones.

First, I have not been to Abigail street in two years, because I now live in Maine. Every time I…read morereturn to Cincinnati I go to Abigail street, EVERY TIME. Heck, my wife was there in June and had the nerve to send me pictures of each course, but I digress. So why write this review now, well let me tell you. I just got back from a trip to Scotland and we went to what was supposedly the best Tapas place in Edinburgh, and it was not even close to Abigail street. So, rather than write a scathing review for that place, I figured I would come on and write this review instead. Food: 7/5 (I know, more than 100%). The reason, the food is beyond exceptional, but the pacing of the meal is great. We usually order 6-7 dishes (always finish with the ricotta and honey) and they will come out one or two at a time. You get to savor each dish, and then laugh and talk with your party about how good that course was and then BOOM, more amazing food arrives. Service: 5/5 - never had a bad thing at all. Watched them handle some very difficult circumstances with some very entitled people with such grace and professionalism. Also, they are so knowledgable, but more than that, they are not afraid to not know something. They work as a team. If one of the staff knows the wines better, they will answer wine questions. It is a rarity to find a staff at a restaurant that truly works as a team like that. Atmosphere: 5/5 - from the second you walk in, relaxed, calm, comfortable. The whole establishment welcomes you in, exuding confidence in the culinary adventure you are about to experience. Drinks: 5/5 - the cocktails may be a 6/5. The wines are delicious. Consistency: 5/5 - every time I go it is an incredible experience. Value: 5/5 - be ready to drop some money, but also know that that it will be so worth it.

My husband I were visiting Cincinnati on vacation and found this place based on online reviews. We…read moretypically like small plates, bar seating and a lively scene where we can interact with others. This place hit all the boxes. We were able to score bar seats without a reservation and had a nice time here. Parking - we ubered here, it looks like they had street parking but that might have been more tricky. We tried: Octopus - great, a tad salty Gambas - my husband enjoyed this Salmon - I especially liked the crunchy chickpeas Chenin Blanc Normandia White Blend Neon Lights (cocktail) - not my favorite Rosé - amazing, a great porch pounder. My wife and I were in the mood to try something new to us, so we popped in for a dinner date. The restaurant space is pretty large, especially for Mt. Adams. It's sort of an indoor/outdoor location, with a large covered patio and large garage doors that open the indoor space in all directions. Certainly a nice place to visit when the weather is good, but the food is just as good as the location, and therefore worthy of a visit no matter the season. My wife and I shared a pitcher of margaritas ($26.99 for the gold), and they were very tasty. Even though they were not prepared to order, it did seem that they had been prepared recently and had great fresh ingredients. My typical Mexican restaurant order is the chimichanga. Theirs is a large tortilla, filled with shredded chicken, beans, and cheese, deep-fried, and topped with lettuce, guacamole, tomato, and sour cream. This is served with rice and beans ($15.25). This was very good and the ingredients were fresh! My wife ordered the chile verde, a delicious plate of slow-cooked pork simmered in a savory green chile sauce. Again served with rice and beans, along with tortillas on the side ($18.50). Another really good dish, and one that is not very common in the Cincinnati area. Go give it a try!
