First time at Moffett Field Golf Course in probably 15+ years, and I was pleasantly surprised at…read morehow great the course and restaurant were. We had an early Saturday morning tee time, and the entire round took just under 4.5 hours. We got lucky because the groups behind us were super slow, so we never had anyone playing behind us. The people in front of us slow though, which slowed the round down. No Marshalls on the course or drink cart, which is an area for improvement. The course itself was in really good shape. It's a fun course layout, with some wide open fairways, dog leg tee shots, and it's one of those courses that gets easier the more you play out. The bunkers had a good, firm sand, which is rare for public courses in the area. The greens were punched but still rolled pretty fast. Can't wait to come back here in the summer when the greens are better. The restaurant was good. I got a breakfast burrito and this thing filled me up for the entire round. Pricing is amazing with most breakfast and lunch items less than $15. Good selection of beers and alcohol too. Overall, glad I rediscovered moffett field golf course. Will definitely be adding this one to the rotation as long as I can get a decent tee time

With that being said, it is not very beginner/ intermediate friendly. We had a tee time at 1pm and they tried to start us early with a different group 15 minutes before our booked time. While we were not very off pace with the group in front of us (now also being four not two) not only was the group of four behind us making remarks, but the timekeeper, I guess you can call him, told us to let them pass us after rushing us through the hole. So not only both rushing us halfway into the hole (split back to our pair) we were now waiting forever for the group of four once behind us, now in front to finish, also keeping the group behind us waiting. We respect the punctuality, but when it applies to everyone and not being hassled in the middle of a hole!

He does a great job of quickly identifying where you need to make improvements, and giving drills for working on it. Thanks Leigh! Terry got me set up with a great set of clubs, too. I could still putt and chip well, but felt like my swing was out of whack and golf was no longer fun. So, I decided to take a lesson from Dan. I asked a number of people I knew from the Baylands Golf Links (where Dan teaches!) and they all said that Dan was the instructor they had selected. That was good enough for me. i have only had one lesson with Dan, and I already have my love for the game back! What I appreciate about Dan is that he likes to keep it simple and help you focus on one thing. That allowed me to get out of my head and focus on my set-up and swing. There will be more to learn, and I plan to take more lessons, but for now I am working on practicing the swing he set me up to have. With Dan you will not get a ton of input on mechanics. He is looking at you and your swing, then helping that swing to improve. His philosophy of everyone having their own swing and learning to embrace that swing within their own body makes a ton of sense to me and is far more motivating and enjoyable when I practice. I cannot recommend Dan more highly.

The facility itself was spotless, comfortable, and nicely air-conditioned, making it a great place to spend a an hour in especially on a hot day. One of our favorite features was being able to stream YouTube TV, so we watched the World Cup while practicing our swings--it made the experience even more enjoyable. The simulator technology was incredible. It provided detailed feedback that really helped us understand and improve our swings. Whether you're a beginner like us or an experienced golfer looking to fine-tune your game, the technology is both fun and genuinely useful. Overall, we had such a great time and can't recommend Fox Hole Golf Club enough.
