I am writing this review in support of the serious concerns raised about Golf Mill Ford. A vehicle with only about 2,300 miles was brought in for a routine oil change, yet additional AC and electronic problems were reportedly diagnosed that could have cost thousands of dollars. What is especially concerning is that after the vehicle was brought back, the AC, dashboard, and other electronic features were working normally. Customers should be able to trust that a dealership will provide an accurate and careful diagnosis, especially when the findings could affect a manufacturer's warranty, vehicle history, resale value, and future repairs. I am also disappointed by how the concerns were reportedly handled after they were brought to management's attention. When a customer questions a major diagnosis, the dealership should take the concern seriously, recheck the vehicle, explain the findings clearly, and work toward a fair resolution rather than simply dismissing the complaint. As an organization serving elderly and vulnerable members of our community, we expect businesses we work with to demonstrate honesty, transparency, professionalism, and accountability. I strongly encourage Golf Mill Ford to review this situation, correct any inaccurate diagnosis or records if appropriate, and make sure this does not negatively affect the vehicle's warranty or future service. I did many internet searches for a quality, reasonably priced with lower miles Ford Explorer. With my teen daughter, we walked onto the lot on a sunny Sat early afternoon. There were several sales people gathered and I immediately thought I'd be swarmed. Nope! We looked at the few cars I highlighted on their site. It wasn't until a reasonable time later that Vinnie Mac politely came over and introduced himself. Got a good vibe from him right away. He was new to the job and I have to say the way he interacted with my daughter and me was top notch. We probably spent 90 mins and Vinnie was a pro. Before we walked off, Vinnie came by and introduced his sales manager, Brian. I thought, okay, he'll be the heavy. Nope! Very polite and asked when I was looking to purchase and at what price point. I told him and within about 30 mins after arriving home Vinnie had four Explorers texted to me. All of them looked good. Went back on Monday morning and Vinnie was off. Brian saw me and we started talking. I took a closer look at a couple Vinnie had texted. One was in their St. Charles dealership which Brian asked if I wanted to see. I passed. One of the cars that was at Golf Mill was really nice but at the top end of my price range. Vinnie said Brian may let me take it on an extended test drive and keep it overnight to show the family. This was unheard of to me, and accepted. Nice car, but the cost was prohibitive. I texted Vinnie and asked if the St Charles car can be brought to Niles by the time I arrives to give back the extended test drive car. And HE was the one that went out to pick up the car. He filled me in via text on the points of his drive when he arrived in Niles. At 5:15 Tuesday, I arrived and the car was ready for my review/drive. Really nice car, and was my pick! Since Vinnie was away when I arrived, Brian introduced me to Geo, helping take care of me in Vinnie's absence. Last step was the financing. This is where everything should go bad, right?? NOPE! John in financing is also a pro. No extras, no pressure, no problem. Got the financing done pretty quick with an acceptable outcome. So smooth all-around. Definitely recommend Golf Mill Ford and the team mentioned above. Real class act, and would definitely recommend this long standing dealership in the community - thank you! read more

Terrible phone service, and scheduling was somehow even worse. I was given three different dates and times, and despite only providing information for my wife's vehicle, they scheduled my Explorer instead of her Escape. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was transferred to service. From there, I was sent to a generic voicemail with no indication of whose mailbox it even was. After calling back again, I was told, "No manager is available. What's this about?" When I repeated that I wanted to speak with either the sales manager or dealership manager, the person hung up on me. Why is the person answering the phone deciding whether a customer deserves to speak with management? Are they there to help customers or simply screen and divert complaints? I had planned on purchasing a new Explorer this spring, but after this experience, I'll be taking my business elsewhere along with my mint 2019 Explorer with only 42K miles. And if this is representative of Ford customer service in general, there are plenty of other brands competing in the $60K+ market. Having purchased multiple vehicles here over the years, it's disappointing to see customer service fall this far. It also seems clear they care more about maintaining high star ratings than actually resolving customer concerns. I'd strongly suggest reading the lower-rated reviews before deciding to buy here. Based on this experience, I absolutely cannot recommend this dealership. 5.19.26 update: Received numerous email messages stating different appointment dates and times for an oil change. Called to cancel, but continued ring but no answer. Recalled and hit one where a male answered. I explained no answer and wish to cancel. "I can't do that" and transferred me. When finally reaching someone in oil change area, was told he doesn't show any appointments under my last name. Not the first time that has happened to me in service. Sad! read more

Very Poor - I have been a ford Lincoln since 1972 when I purchased my Ford Pinto Runabout upon graduation from High School with my dad's signature on the loan that I had to pay. After that many Ford/Lincoln products. I have never experienced the distaste I have had with the salesperson and the sales manager at this dealership. For background most recently purchased a 2015 Lincoln MKS. 2016 Ford F-150 XLT Club Cab, 2019 Ford F-150 Lariat Crew Cab and a 2022 Lincoln Nautilus. All were purchased via phone calls and emails online and delivered to the home, with the exception of my 2019 Ford F-150 when they were unable to provide online .pdf's for signature. Metro Ford Which was over thirty miles from my home sent an uber to my office in Chicago to pick me up so I could sign the papers and drive the car home. This dealership needs to be brought to 2026 that people do not want to waste time in a dealership waiting to purchase a car and have the salesperson continuing to go back and forth with the sales manager for an answer. This dealership is not transparent in pricing - They cannot even deal over the phone as far as price. What are they hiding? Advice if a deal cannot be made online for a car don't bother with these dinosaurs that are unable to adapt - when you have a salesperson that can't quote a price on a car that you are willing to pay cash for and has to check with the sales manager. who by the way called later and he was just as clueless I would stay clear of Golf Mill Ford - as my dad would say they are definitely shyster's. I recently purchased a 2007 Honda CR-V from Golf Mill Ford, and my experience has been extremely disappointing. Shortly after the purchase, I discovered a severe power steering fluid leak a major issue that was never disclosed to me. I was assured that the vehicle was in good condition, but that has proven to be untrue. In addition to the power steering problem, I also found multiple issues with both the interior and exterior of the vehicle that were not properly represented at the time of sale. These were not minor cosmetic concerns they were problems that should have been clearly disclosed before selling the car. I relied on the dealership's representations when making this purchase, and I now feel misled. Transparency and honesty are very important when buying a vehicle, and unfortunately, that was not my experience here. Because of this, I will not be returning for future business, and I cannot recommend this dealership to friends or family. I hope they take this feedback seriously and improve their inspection and disclosure practices. read more

Heads up!! They snuck the bs service contract back into paperwork after I told them I did not want. when I found it and addressed it, they said it wasn't possible to cancel after weeks of going back and forth. A couple months later, while refinancing, they could magically do it then, but I was over the mileage by then. Total scam!! everyone speaking in a different language to each other probably talking about how bad they're ripping everyone off. Plenty of other good dealerships out there. I would try those first. I really don't like talking bad about companies, I never leave reviews. Thought it was important for your second most expensive purchase in life that you be aware. Jimmy and GMF not only helped me get my car towed and secured, I was driving off their lot in a new car by that evening. Not two weeks later, I was t-boned and that new car was totaled; the car's safety features, recommended by Jimmy, saved my life. I cannot emphasize enough how deceptive this dealership is. They lure you in with an online price--in my case, $54,679 for a vehicle. Once I was seated to negotiate, that price suddenly became $54,879. But here is the real trap: they claim to offer discounts for military, first responders, or if you own a GM/Chevy/Ram trade-in. If, like me, you don't fall into those specific categories, the price magically skyrockets to $57,500--and that's before taxes, doc fees, and plate fees. So the actual out-the-door price is astronomical. They use the low online price as clickbait and the "discounts" as an excuse to exclude most buyers from ever getting it. Total bait-and-switch. BEWARE of Golf Mill Ford in Niles, IL. On March 25, 2025, I bought a used Ford Transit after being shown another one that broke down during the test drive. They quickly pushed me into a similar van, claiming it passed all dealer inspections. Days later, I drove it again and heard screeching from all four wheels. A mechanic confirmed over $3,000 in wheel bearing damage. Soon after, the engine belt started squealing -- turns out it had been sprayed with a lubricant to temporarily hide the issue. When I contacted the dealership, they said "too bad, it was sold as-is." Then managers told me I "got a good deal anyway." Later, they changed their story again -- calling it "as-is parts" and saying their own inspections meant nothing. This wasn't an honest mistake. The dealer knew about these issues. The Carfax even shows they inspected the belts right before the sale. Yet none of this was disclosed. I expected honesty from a big dealership. Instead, I feel scammed. I'm now stuck with thousands in unexpected repairs. Avoid this place and any dealer tied to Gus Kreatsoulas. They're not looking out for the customer -- just trying to move damaged inventory. read more
