Clear blue button to schedule an appointment. But they don't have the parts in stock
Lefai K.

This review is for the service area. Pure chaos. As of this writing, Aug 2024, seems like they are under going construction. So I'm sure that doesn't help. I came here for a scheduled Honda recall. So many strikes: 1. Appointment reminder said to enter on Dempster Ave. wrong. You need to enter via Waukegan. I had to exit the parking lot my reversing all the way back as there were cars upon cars double parking and blocking the aisles 2. Getting in the service parking, more chaos. No room to even pull in as there were so many cars double parked. To make things even worse, there was a garbage truck in the way. I had to backup and snake through the side to even get in 3. At this point, it's been over 10-min of this chaos. I finally pulled in the service bay and went in. I was then informed that for my recall, they didn't have parts until September. So why did you let me schedule an appointment?? The app tells me to schedule one. Exiting the service area, there was people yelling at each other, loud blaring music, and just chaos. Hard to navigate through the area when suddenly you hear yelling. It makes you stop as you're not sure they are warning you that you might hit something. This place stinks. I will not go to this dealership again. Usually the only time I go to one is to buy a car and to do recalls. Other than that, there's a reason dealerships suck.

Worse crooks there is. From the finance department to the salesman. Extra charges and warranties that I did not ask for. They're all nuts.

Everyone I have dealt with has been courteous & very helpful & able to provide exactly what I have come for. I give them 5 Stars. I wish I could say the same about the service Dept for maintenance. The Castle Honda service is about as useless as anyplace I have ever been to. First of all as a dealer they charge so much more for any type of maintenance then other mechanics. I went here today to try and find information on the code for the navigation system in my car. I called and they said to look in the manual for the code so I poured through the Navigation manual & the owner manual trying to find the 4 digit code unable to find it I made a trip to the service dept hoping that they could show me where the information was in the manual. When I walked in the guy sitting at the desk was doing nothing. I asked him if he knew where the information was. While he was flipping pages he asked me if I bought the car there. When I told him NO I didn't he seemed to lose any interest or desire to even assist me. The only other time I used Castle Honda they did a half assed job on a repair for my car that needed work to fix it about a 1 1/2 weeks later. I was in Hyde Park at the time when my car alternator & battery died. I had to have my car towed into the Honda Dealer Downtown on 1111 N Clark Street leave the car & take an Uber home. The only reason I came here is because it's the closest Honda Dealer to my house. NEVER AGAIN

He was very responsive to my inquiries and employed no pressure whatsoever as I deliberated over the purchase. It was very clear to me that he was an advocate for me to enjoy the experience more than he was simply looking to make a sale. I had not purchased a used car in a few years and this dealership was new to me as it was out of my home state. He was very patient with me and while the car itself was very nice, it was Shahid's customer service that truly made me comfortable making the purchase. Shahid proved to be an outstanding member of the McGrath Sales Team. If you are looking for a vehicle, I would very highly recommend you ask to work with Shahid. You will not be disappointed.

I purchased a certified pre owned Acura MDX Type S with less than 7k miles on 7/25. I was lowballed on my trade. My trade had low miles and looked new still. Had one small dent on the hood, they tried to say that was the reason they gave me thousands less. They put that car on their lot, didn't repair it! That's not the worst part. The day I took delivery, I pointed out interior pieces that were damaged, the car was filthy as well. Stained seats, carpet showed stains from snow, window were filthy. Miguel my salesman did his best to clean it but, it still wasn't good. I purchased a 70k vehicle, why wasn't it cleaned properly. Two days after having the vehicle I noticed a roaring noise from the brakes. Day after that my infotainment system started to freeze, go dark, not function and wouldn't connect to my phone. I went to the dealership and spoke with Sergio the finance manager who assured me all my concerns would be addressed. He called the service manager, they had me make an appointment to drop my car off, this was on Wednesday 7/29. On Friday 7/31 I dropped off my vehicle and was given a loaner. Was also an MDX so I was okay with that. Jason told me they'd be in contact. A few days went by and I heard nothing, so I attempted to call Jason. I left a voicemail, never got a call back. I called the next day, a young lady took a message and said she give it to Jason, no call back. I called again after work, finally got Jason. Told me the technician could not figure out what was wrong with my infotainment system, he had also called Acura support. Jason told me he'd call me the next day, which was Thursday or Friday with an update. He never called. On Saturday I called the finance manager, asked can he get me an update on my vehicle. He texted me back. Didn't even call me, to say Jason said he tried to call you twice. I said I never received a call from anyone at McGrath. Finance manager never text back after. I finally got a text from Jason saying their phone was acting up. He said they were going to replace my infotainment system. Still needed to do the other repairs and after have my car detailed. All of that took a week. Yesterday, Friday 8/14 I received a text my vehicle was ready. I was excited. My car spent more time at the dealership than in my possession and it's almost time to make my first payment. I get there and was told the brakes were not done. Jason told me via text that the technician found corrosion on the rotors but, they wouldn't replace them. For me to monitor them and if they get worse, bring my car back. Bring my car back after it sat here for two weeks? At this point I just wanted my car and wanted to get out of there. I open the door and my excitement turned to confusion. The car was never detailed as promised. The interior looked exactly the same as when I dropped it off on 7/31! I called Jason over and asked why wasn't the detail done. You told me it would be done after the technician completed the work so it wouldn't get dirty. His reply, our detail guys gave it a courtesy cleaning! WHAT!!! that is not what was promised. He said, let me talk to the manager. Came back and said, well they said the car was detailed prior to delivery. I showed him everything again and asked does this car look like it was detailed to you? He replied, I can only do what they tell me. You can talk to the managers. I just shook my head, got into my vehicle and drove away. I have owned a couple Acura's prior that I purchased and had serviced at McGrath Acura Westmont, my cwr buying experiences were great and the service was excellent, every time. I went to McGrath Morton Grove because it was near my job. and I figured same name should be the same level of service, I was so wrong. What should have been happiness and excitement over my new vehicle, turned quickly into the worst experience I have ever had. Only reason I gave two stars is because Miguel my salesman tried to make my experience the best that he could. Should have followed my first mind and went to McGrath Westmont.

Brought my 4Runner in for an oil change- they proceeded to pitch their "necessary services". I agreed to a tire rotation and I left once they returned the vehicle to me. Living 10 minutes from the store, there was no reason to exceed 40mph. Well! Took it on the highway and was scared to death once I hit 50mph. My steering wheel felt like it was going to fly off in my lap. I pulled over immediately and called my husband. He suggested I call the Service center back. I called them to explain my vehicle is now unsafe to drive after their tire rotation... even worse, we have a 6-hour drive tomorrow for a funeral service. They advised we bring it back in. Even though I'm scared to drive it. Eventually my husband had to meet me on the side of the highway to bring them the truck again! Not only did they not fix the problem, they unwound the tire rotation and kept our money. Zero accountability for anything and said because they performed the service we would not be refunded. Except they allowed me to drive an unsafe vehicle after it never had any issues prior to the arrival. It was our first visit there!!! Terrible. Both my husband and myself drove carefree before this service visit. Unbelievable to not even offer to compensate our time, our safety, or simply fix whatever we paid for originally- a tire rotation that THEY recommended, that THEY do daily. We asked to speak with the Service Director and or General Manager and nobody was available. Poor quality of service and total lack of care from the staff.
