Small, clean, quiet small town cafe. The poor waitress was the only one out front and had her hands…read morefull on a Monday Morning. We were in no rush and enjoyed the time. My kiddies breakfast was the absolutely most perfect portion sizes. I was SO happy when the waitress let me order it. I'm not a big breakfast eater but I all sounded so good! The biscuits and gravy were yummy! The breakfast potatoes were divine. The bacon was thick and crispy and the eggs were scrambled just right. My husband ate all of his omelet and never ran out of coffee even though she was super busy with other tables. The price was incredible reasonable and we will return here again for sure!

It looks nice on the outside. When we visited the first time with my parents who came to town for…read morean event it smelled very bad. It was difficult to get through the meal. The smell was like something somewhere was wet and moldy/rotten. It was very bad. We were not welcomed just told to find a seat and the lady would come over when she was ready. literally she said "Find a spot to sit and when I get a chance i'll be round with menus" like it was the greeting of the day. I shook it off because I really wanted to like this place. My food was beyond basic. canned veggies. Not even homemade gravy! the brown gravy was very clearly premade from a store. it was gelatinous dark brown like melted chocolate and tasted just like some jarred gravy. my hot beef was placed on top of an unbuttered and untoasted piece of plain white sandwich bread. so it was completely soggy and disintegrated into pasty slop. the beef did have a nice flavor. The glasses were nice but had a smell like old dishwater when you put it up to your face to drink. Not sure if it was just the smell of the building I asked my parents and daughter, all made a sneer before smelling their own glasses to find the same odor. The woman waiting on us (pixie cut blonde hair) was so unavailable for our table. for a restaurant with only 3 other tables full she was very nonexistent. Took a long time to order drinks and then longer to order food. but our food came out in less than 7min which is weird considering it takes 6min to fry fresh chicken not including time to batter them. and then plate all the other food. So I have a strong impression they don't make a lot of fresh food. the dessert case was mentioned and so I asked if they at least make their pies in house. The exact words to me were "No, but we use a company that only makes pies and cakes" for the record, Marie Callander makes pies and is a pie company. and all the pies they had were varieties sold at the local Price Chopper..so I passed because I come to restaurants to eat food I otherwise cant or wont make at home. Nothing about this experience felt good.

So we ended up at DINO'S Diner. Open 24/7 serving breakfast, lunch and dinner any time. There was a very extensive menu for everyone. Its was hard for me to pick! I ended up on Dino's skillet. It was just so delicious in my opinion. And plenty big of a serving. Currently $10.99. Picture below. My husband had the Ruben sandwich and fries. He liked it, But he gave me no details. . I tasted a fry and it was hot and crispy. Just the way I like them. The bread was pretty. Lol. I tasted it and it was just bread. I did taste the rest of the sandwich tho. Our server was excellent too. It was not crowded when we were there but steady customers coming in. We were served quickly too. I would have liked to try the pie or cakes available, but I was way too full. From Cameron we drove to St Joseph for chocolate. Rocky mountain chocolate factory. It was about 30 mins from Cameron and then back to KC. Great outing.

It was past closing time and it has been on our list of places to visit so Saturday morning we took a trip to Kearney Missouri. The Corner Kitchen and General Store serves classic comfort food all day breakfast, burgers and they have rotating weekend specials. Lunches and combos specials :fried chicken tenders ,burnt end, jalapeño peppers are all on the rotating weekly lunch menu. All combos comes with fries or tots and a fountain drink. We also got apple cinnamon rolls. YUMMY !!They have regular cinnamon rolls and apple cinnamon rolls. It is also a general store that sells items for camping needs, bug spray, laundry soap, dish soap, aspirin, sunscreen, T-shirts, sun, hats, stuffed animals, sunglasses etc. We were welcomed as we came in took our order then brought it to our table. We called and they offered to replace this god on our next order which was fine (the restaurant is 30 minutes away from us). When we called to place our next order we were scolded and basically told they never have an off day, we were being unreasonable and taking advantage of them. Seriously???? After all our ordering and never having a problem the one time we reported that the food wasn't right we get treated like we're lying and stealing from them?? We were told that there will "not be a next time" that they fix a problem after TAKE OUT has left the restaurant. So no quality control, no humility, blame shifting, rudeness and no recourse if something isn't made properly. That isn't customer service and it's not right!! THE REPLACEMENT FOOD HAD A LONG, BLACK HAIR IN IT! (We are blonde so our wasn't ours.) Did we call Hunan to ask for them to make it right? No. They made it clear they don't care about the experiences of their customers so, why do that?
