Had purchased clubs at another location and have receipt. I was trying to get some game improvement irons instead of the player distance irons I had purchased, they wouldn't let me exchange with the ones they had there in stock at the store. I only had purchase the clubs 40 days ago. They were trying to make me get fitted and were telling me I shouldnt have bought this and that. They were being very rude about the 90 day exchange policy they have. Just go buy your irons at a PGA store. They are trying to make money off you for trying to get fitted. read more

We went in to buy a driver. We finally found someone to help us. We had to tear him away from talking with another employee. He did end up helping and showing us a few clubs. I brought in two umbrella drapes I purchased several days ago to see if I could return them or get store credit because I did not need them. I told the cashier I did not have a receipt because I tossed it. He called for help on the headset and a balled headed manager came up to the front and looked at the drapes and asked if I purchased them at this location? I stated I did not and purchased them up in North Dallas area. He than asked if I have a loyalty card, and they could search up my receipt through there - I stated I did not. Than he told me he could not do anything at all, and told me to take it back to the store I got it from, because they did not even have the items at the store. I took my two umbrella drapes and threw them in the trunk. Went back in the store and walked around and low and behold, the same items were there in the store. I told the cashier his manager did not know what he was talking about and he told me it was his first week and he's just there to collect a pay check. So I've discovered why this seems to be the most expensive sport ever. I am a newbie to the golf scene. This is one of the newest locations for golf galaxy. They have tons of bays and so much space compared to the Dallas store. The one thing that always gets me is maybe i don't look like a golfer but the service essentially sucks. I can't recall finding very many helpful people there. I think it's already a little intimidating trying to ask questions but even worse when they seem uninterested at all. Join the advantage club and you get great deals and points that might eventually lead you to spend even more money. I will tell you the service here is lacking for sure. I don't know what it is? Is it a guy shopping in a tank top looking totally like I'm lost? You would figure you would find someone to be a little willing to offer some help over here. read more

Worst service I've experienced in a while. Went in to sell a used putter and planned on spending over $400 on a Scotty Cameron putter. You need someone to open the display case. I asked the manager more than once to have someone open it. Waited several minutes while watching sales associates playing catch with no one paying attention to customers. Terrible service today. Tried to use a gift card balance from a gift card and showed the manager the receipt for $59. I made a selection and was not allowed to use the balance left. What was so disappointing was that Adam made no attempt to help. Basically I was told I'm out of luck and no attempt was made to help me. This is my first time ever posting a review on social media. I have never in my life been treated this poorly in a retail store. I most definitely agree w/ all the other 1 star reviews after my visit today. I walk in and ask if I can demo the new apex iron with the factory stiff shaft that normally comes w/ the set. He tells me there are lots of different shafts and etc and will need to do a fitting. I don't want a fitting I just want to see what it feels like. He's already irritated but finally gives me the iron and tells me I can go around the corner to the range area to hit balls. I hit a few balls but have no idea how far / high/ straight it's going so I ask if I can just a hit a few in the bay to see my #'s. He tells me either I pay 50 for a fitting or pay 20 to rent a bay. "Corporate Policy" Unbelievable! I've never been in a golf store where they won't let you hit a few balls in a simulator! He then tells me that "I'm not going to let you bang balls all day in the bay!" He will let me hit exactly 3 balls! Wow!!! So I'm suppose to decide after 3 balls if I like the club or not? I guess he prejudged me from the way I looked and ASSUMED I wasn't going to buy anything. Also, there was nobody else in the entire store but me!! Hmmm, I wonder why? After some back and forth, I'm frustrated and ask for his name. He sticks his name tag just a few inches from my face in anger and tells me to leave!! The manager listened to my side of the story and said he would look into it. I'm well aware there are 2 sides to every story. I hope they review the video to confirm what happened. I then head straight over to PGA superstore(which I should of gone to first but it was further away) and ask to hit the same iron there. Well, guess what? 5/26/2020Very Happy and exited when we left the store with our new club purchase from Max Rosen, told 7 to10 days we should receive our clubs. Being excited we wanted to check order status on 5/29/2020. Could not find the order with online tracking. Chatted with chat support they could not find our order. Called the store 56 minutes later. Hayden Told us the order shipped on the 24th. He was confronted with the issue that that was not possible because we ordered on the 26th. He said the ping shipped on the 26th and Taylor made Shipped on the 24th. He said this is what Max ( the store Manager) told him. That is 29 days before they even ship!! Why would the tell us 7 to 10 days. WOW. After asking for a refund. Hayden told us we had to come in the store for a refund on a credit card or cash. If the would have been up front and not blatantly lied to us there would not be any issue. read more

Went to Golf Galaxy for the first time ever. I'm an avid golfer and usually do all of my shopping at Academy, PGA Superstore, and Dicks. So I thought I'd give Golf Galaxy a visit since I'm shopping for a new set of irons. I go up to the demo bays and a salesman sees me looking in one of the bays. I asked him if there was a Titliest AP3 Iron that I could demo. He asked me if I was serious about buying and that's the only way I could demo the club. I had to explain to him why I was buying new cubs.... finally let me hit the iron and stood there watching me hit the club. I was so uncomfortable that I only hit it a couple of times and gave him the iron back. The whole store gave me an unwelcoming feeling. I left very unsatisfied knowing that I didn't get to really shop for new irons and try different irons.... read more

Lies like a used car sales man. So I just got 2 hybrids from this place 5 days ago. I got g30s which one of their employees told me I can use coupons on it since it's not the latest model. After making me drive there they told me i can not use the coupon for these hybrids. Then at the counter I specifically asked, if I do not like them, since clubs act different in simulator vs. Real life, can I bring it back? And they said "of course." When I asked, "like other places that offer 90 day satisfaction guarantee?" And they said "yes" I take it to course and it was not performing like anticipated and felt off.. So based on what they said, I called to ask about return policy. They said no return in cash or store credit, just trade in value if I used it ever. To clarify, AS IF I used it for two years and as if they are buying used clubs. **in short, 1) do not believe what they'll say to bring you in to the store. 2) do not believe what they promise at check out to finalize sale. 3) there are stores like golf PGA tour super store who will give you store credit or goldsmith who offer exchange for the value you paid in the last 90 days. 4) this place has been kind of like a used car sales place that says what ever to bring you in and finalize sale so that afterwards they can claim "tought luck!" I may have gotten the clubs either way had I known, but now I just feel played like a cheap (**filled in the blank**). ** also, last year they said spend $150 in git card and get sleeve of balls and a 30 minute lesson. That lesson I have been trying for a year to redeem. Not available, take a day off work to get it in 2 weeks, or pro is sick, etc. All their offerings are a scam! read more

My son went to buy him a new set of clubs, hit decided on pre-owned. Had a young salesman named Adam that helped us out and he was great. My son tried 4-5 different sets before Adam went and found another set in the back to try and these were the perfect ones for him. He started hitting everything longer and straight. We spent probably 2-3 hrs hiting different irons, drivers, and trying out putters. My son bought the last set he tried (the ones Adam went and found), a pre-owned driver, and new putter and got a great deal. The only reason i didnt give the full 5 stars is because the simulator was not functioning properly and we had to keep resetting it, which Adam did very patiently and without complaint. read more

i want to the new golf galaxy a few days ago to try some of the new drivers out. i have spent well over a thousand dollars there on clubs. i was in the hitting stalls where i use the simple computer to give me somewhat accurate input on my shots. i hit a bunch with my original driver to get a baseline of numbers to go off. then i proceeded to hit the taylormade sim and the new cobra and the callaway maverick. it tasks me a while to get loose, im 56, and so i was hitting quite a few going from driver to driver to get an accurate feel from them. there was noone trying to get to my stall. there were always empty ones and i was simply trying the clubs before i spend $500 on a new driver. i was down to my original driver and the sim which later on really started coming on as a favorite. it was feeling better and better and the numbers were very good. then a man approached me. it was the pro (and i use the word loosely) leigh taylor. there was noone in the stalls and i was just getting done hitting some sims against my original driver to see if pursuing a new $500 driver was something i wanted to do. so leigh comes over and starts telling me something about hitting too many balls does not give an accurate assessment of a club. something about getting tired? i told him that i can hit 200 drivers and not get a little tired because i swing correctly. so he tries to sell me a fitting for $50 and i'm not against that. but then he says "you take one driver and hit it 5 times ..then you try another one for 5 swings then another for 5 swings." i started to argue this strategy an he proceeded to tell me that he was a top 100 fitter...working at golf galaxy. then he suggested i might need a lesson. so here's the truth...i have been in the golf business over 30 years. i have maintained a single digit handicap always until recently when my play has really dropped off. i know more about the golf swing than most pros by far. i have been fitted for driver multiple time and have bought many drivers a few from golf galaxy. i don't get lessons i give lessons. i know about launch angle and spin and trajectory and i also know that fittings are overrated. some of the best drivers ive seen ..and ive seen hundreds...have grabbed a stock driver off the shelf and hit it perfectly. loft and spin are all you really need to get right one it feels good to you. i watch hundreds of rounds a year from high handicappers to scratch players to tour professional players and looking at a drive and knowing that its correct equipment wise is pretty easy to see. so lets get back to leigh the pro. if you think that hitting a driver 5 times and then going to a diffent club for 5 swings is the way to fit yourself you are clueless. he said to me...you don't want to fit inot the club you want the club to fit to you...in 5 swings??? what are you looking for magic? all clubs feel different and switching every 5 swings is basic mind ^%$@##$%. this guy is a top 100 fitter???? i said ok ill let you fit me and then he said that he is too busy giving lessons. ill turn off the caps for this part. these so called experts can actually be the worst thing to ever happed to your game. i have witnessed lessons from pros that are like swing ruiners. i see people all the time coming off lessons and others who commit to getting multiple lessons to improve their games and they dont get better...sometimes they get worse. prose tell you not just the wrong things they are often times backwards. i have out 20 yards back on my driver in the last 2 years because i have learned "the secret" to all good golf. from driving to short game. i spent years practicing the garbage that these pros attempt to teach. noone gets better!!! leigh proved to me that top 100 or whatever hes a top 100 schmuck. talking down to the 1 guy who can make people way better and have a swing that will last forever with way less practice. an effortless swing that hits it farther than you ever have! stayt away from these losers....they will ruin you and take your money. if you dont believe me go to my website http://masterchipping.com and take some real lessons that will make you instantly better and put you on the way to learning why 5 foot tall girls can hit it way farther than you can get up and down from everywhere! http://masterchipping.com read more

I hate doing this but I cant help but not share. In mid July I ordered some junior clubs for my sons birthday at the beginning of August. I figured that was more than enough time to get there. After weeks of them not coming and having trouble tracking them, I finally checked with support (in mid August). They told me they were delivered a few days prior...to Kentucky! I live in Iowa! They did offer to reship me out the same set for free so I accepted because my son really liked the set. So today (Aug 31st) I contacted support again because they still hadn't come and they were stuck in transit. They told me they were sorry but they were now unavaliable and I would just be refunded. So long story short- I wasted a month and a half waiting on two sets of clubs that were never delivered and my son didn't get his birthday gift. We will be looking elsewhere for our golf gear from now on. read more

First off...ive been playing golf for about 25 years. Ive been wanting to get new irons so i went to Golf Galaxy to check out a few set. Long story short, this place wont be in business very long the way the sales staff acts towards their customers. Rude and disrespectful. I even complained to the manager who didnt seem too interested in how i was treated. Needless to say i will not be back and i reccomend anyone else to find another option as well. Upon reading the reviews on here it appears as if this is how Golf Galaxy conducts its business. I left this store and went down to the PGA Superstore just down the road where i purchased my new irons. I told the sales staff there about how Golf Galaxy treats potential customers and was told theyve heard that many times. Here's a bad lesson in how to turn a great customer into someone who will never return... I was very excited when this store opened inGrapevine. They had a great selection of apparel and equipment and tons of items were on sale. I bought a bunch of clothing items and begged my wife to join me the next time I went so that she could buy some golf clothes also. Turns out I bought so much stuff the first time Golf Galaxy sent me a $20 off coupon for the next time I shopped and purchased at least $100 in merchandize. Soon thereafter I wandered in and bought $329 in stuff (including the discount). When I got home I discovered that two shirts totaling $113 didn't fit well so I returned them. When returning the items the cashier informed me that the $20 discount would also be prorated over the exchanged items due to "Corporate policy". This made no sense to me since I was retaining almost $200 in merchandize...twice the threshold amount of $100 to validate the $20-off coupon. The store manager confirmed the policy and so I offered him a choice... Override the default position on the coupon and still validate the entire $20-off coupon or lose me as a customer forever. He said he couldn't and they ending up refunding me an amount that was $18 less than what a full refund should have been. In other words, I returned 1/3 of the merchandize and they retracted 90% of the $20 "savings". I grabbed the receipt, went home and came back with those previously procured items that I hadn't yet worn and returned them to the store for a refund as well. When departing a second time the store manager asked if there was anything else he could do for me, I suggested he notify his corporate contacts that their policy had just turned a great customer into someone who would never return. Really bad service. Get fitted for a driver and told this is the best one for me. Purchase and cant hit the ball straight. Went from hitting 10-12 fairways per round to practically nada. Even better cant get any service from the store and since its used i can trade it in and take a huge hit or spend more money to get a new shaft that should help. Wrote an email to customer service as well and MAN are they consistant, NO REPLY!! What awesome follow up after the sale to keep your customers coming back. I would stay away. Go to Golfsmith where they have a 30 day guarantee even if you play the club. Go somewhere that cares about their customers. read more

This place has horrible customer service. The worst. My husband spent time trying on shoes. Two people who were working walked by chatting to each other. Never stopped. 5 guys stood around talking to each other while my husband looked at grips. Right next to the group. Not one offered to help. We will order online from any place else in the future as we would get more help than what we got in this store. read more

Bought a golf bag there a year and a half ago. The inside dividers are tearing apart. Went to return it today and was told that's a manufacturers issue and they would need to send the bag off for several weeks. How am I supposed to play golf this week without a bag? Guess they don't understand the meaning of the lifetime value of a customer. Too bad, guess I'll go buy my wedges and balls and shirts and everything else I buy from them somewhere else. We had a big enough purchase, and a couple of return trips, to justify spending the time to write a review. My husband inherited several pristine drivers and went to Golf Galaxy to possibly sell or trade in. He said the guys that helped were very knowledgable and friendly, and he left feeling confident that trading them in for credit towards a new set of Taylormade irons was the way to go. They took measurements and b/c he is taller, it would be a 'spec order from the factory' and would take a couple weeks. About that same time goes by, they call and we go to pick up (*side note that we bought my son a junior, lefty set on this trip, they call this 'a unicorn' b/c is rare to find and was excited they had in stock!). Even though we had to point out that the clubs that came in from Taylormade were standard size, they were happy to help return them to Taylormade but meant that another 2 weeks or so would have to go by. They offered to have them overnighted and rather than make us wait to have them returned, we were able to pick up the custom clubs much quicker. Evidently the 'new' taller set did not come with grips attached and although Golf Galaxy applied them at their store, they were patient with my questions about they way a custom set is supposed to received, and offered to replace grips to our satisfaction. In other words they went out of their way to help make the order correct and although was a longer process than intended, and a bit confusing, they didn't give up on resolving the situation. While I understand other's frustration, my experiences at the Grapevine GG have been outstanding. Yes, it probably helps to let the staff know of your relative experience and it definitely helps to be completely honest. Golf in itself encourages "embellishment" which when it occurs, only hurts the staff's ability to truly assist. And, yes, I realize that there can and will be an occasional "bad" experience. That being said, I've been absolutely satisfied in my experiences here while working with everyone. In particular, Jeff C. has always listened and recommended solutions that eventually help. I say eventually only because golf if very difficult to play and even harder to convey abilities to someone like Jeff. He has never seen me play and relies 100% on what I'm telling him along with whatever very small sample size he may receive by my hitting in the bays. I make it a point to seek Jeff out for all of my golf needs. Great experience! read more
