Consistently Incredible Club Fittings! I used these guys to upgrade my putter, driver, fairway woods, wedges, and irons in individual fitting sessions. The putter experience dropped my putts per round by 7, the driver session significantly extended my length and tightened my dispersion, the fairway woods brought noticeably better consistency, the wedge fitting yielded "dang! Did I just hit THAT shot" reliability, and the irons have me asking myself why I waited so long to make the change. This is a no-lose experience. The fitting fee is lopped off the purchase price. And you have 90 days to get a replacement if what you purchased does not perform. On the replacement, I took back the Titleist 58-degree wedge I purchased and swapped it for a 60-degree six weeks later. No questions asked! Highly recommended, particularly given the 90-day swap out option which the competition (you know ... the guys that claim to be the champion of such things) will absolutely NOT do. read more

The staff here is great. I have spoke with Dan , Craig, Damion , Kyle on my visits here . They were all helpful and accommodating in assisting me in my Golf needs. You can try out clubs on the multiple driving ranges they have. You can even track the path of the ball with the computer system. Great selection in everything Golf, for both men and women. They also provide lessons and golf improvements on your current technique. With every dollar $ you spend you get points on your scorecard. You have to sign up, but it is worth it. read more

My husband came in here for a custom golf club fitting. We worked with Luke and he was absolutely fabulous, knowledgeable and extremely pleasant to work with. I hung out just to watch things and I must say for not being a golf person myself I found everything to be very interesting and customer service that I witnessed was nothing short of amazing. This store has every golf brand imaginable, anything you need for the golf person in your life. Highly recommend the store and if you're looking for new golf clubs go see Luke!! He is awesome!! Love this store in Parkside Town Commons and it's location and have gone in numerous times to purchase many items. Today I was disappointed that one staff member (Craig) who clearly saw me standing there for almost 3 minutes and completely ignored me as I stood there towards the back of the store trying to get his attention. I understand that you were on the phone Craig possibly with a customer but when you walk away from the phone pass me by twice, and then go back to talk on the phone the least you can do is at least acknowledge that a person/customer is standing there. A smile, eye contact, a quick glance, a quick gesture of acknowledgment that you'll be with me momentarily would be most appreciated! I walked into golf galaxy today at 3:00. Walked around the store becuase i wanted to buy a set of beginner golf clubs. I actually could not tell who worked in the store. Went by the gold fitter window no one even came by to say are you looking for something, stood around for five minutes and went to the chiping area to see if someone there would help but could not find anyone. After hanging around the store for half hour i just left. If they don't want to sell to customers but have a store open - too bad. I will take my business elsewhere where there is better service. Went to golf galaxy yesterday to buy a new driver. I had a great experience with Lou. I spent nearly 2 hours trying out over 15 different drivers. He worked with me changing out shafts, heads, and weights and working on my swing until I had the ball flight I wanted. I used to play the taylormade R1 right about 285 yards with a 40-60 yard slice. I decided on a callaway rogue and I went to 310 yards and a 5 yard draw. Lou took the time to make sure I was entirely happy with my purchase. He didn't try to push any new products on me, we simply looked at the numbers and found out which driver and shaft combination worked on me and it ended up being a fairly used driver. Great experience, I will go back when I need irons, and I will be requesting Lou. read more

I had the strangest experience at Golf Galaxy yesterday. I booked an iron fitting. I arrived early as I also wanted to get my current clubs re-gripped since my spouse will be using those. The associate who helped with the grip selection and process was courteous. He indicated that Jeff would be working with me on the club fitting. The associate called Jeff several times to let him know I was there for the fitting. After about 20 minutes I was prepared to pay for the re-gripping and leave. The associate apologized for the delay and went ahead and set me up with two clubs in the testing area to get warmed up. Jeff never showed. After 50 minutes from the original appointment time I gave up and let the associates know what happened. I'm pretty sure I saw Jeff playing with the regripping equipment behind the glass at this point. The associates looked very confused as to why Jeff never showed up. I'm pretty sure in this process Jeff then passed by and didn't stop to check in on what was happening. I give two stars here because the associates were pleasant and helpful but Jeff the pro was completely unprofessional. read more

I love the fact that this GG is only about a mile from my house. It is really great to have one of the best GG in the country right here in Cary! Great selection of clothes, gear, balls, etc. All staff members are very nice to me every time I come in. I also love that is never super busy. I know the company would disagree, but I really appreciate the attention given to a shopper due to this, not to mention quick checkouts. All I can say is I hope sales are strong enough that this store will not meet the same demise as it's sister store Field and Stream next door. read more

Went in to golf galaxy this morning, looking for a driver, found the driver I thought I would like, went to the fitting counter after I could not find anybody to help me in the store, getting ready to talk to Brandon, phone Rang, he walks of thru store looking for something someone called to see if they had, after quite a bit of time I walked back over and asked Brandon if there was anybody that was willing to help me, He said go hit a few balls I will be there in just a minute, after about 10 minutes walk back around to the counter and another associate was there, told story and instead of helping me , looks for Brandon. What a circus it was. Found club , would not work with me at all !!! Service is terrible, needless to say I did not buy the driver I went to get , you need to get your customer service up to par or your store will be closing soon!!!!!! read more

I went to pick up my clubs that were re shafted . The golf associate gave me my re-shafted clubs. However, I had to ask for my old shafts. I wouldn't have thought much about it but my old shafts were custom also...Project X stiff. The new ones were Project X regular shafts. I don't know if he were planning on keeping my old shafts or what. If it were me I would have given the customer the opportunity to decide, not wait until the customer asked. I came to Golf Galaxy today at their new Cary, NC location and was overwhelmed by the selection and service. I have been to several Golfsmith stores and to PGA Super Stores, and I have to say my experience here was better than any other I have had at the other mentioned stores. I went in search of being fitted for Titleist AP1 714 irons (which by the way are outstanding) and after a brief 10 minute wait, I was being fitted without an appointment, which would not happen at a Golfsmith. To make things better, while I waited, I was able to warm up and hit the AP1's on their demo bay. The service I received was second to none and I feel very confident in the fitting process that I went through, which was just as in depth as the GolfTec fitting that I had previously experienced with less than desirable results (they do not carry Titleist). The associate that fitted me was Joseph Greenburg, whom was not a PGA Professional, but did just as well as any I have been to. I was extremely impressed with his service and he easily fitted me. To go even further, which some might not like, he talked with me while I decided on a new golf bag as well. He was not only a great associate, but an even better guy. To sum things up, my loyalty now rests at Golf Galaxy after this fantastic experience. I could not ask for better and I cannot wait for my new irons to arrive. If you are looking for a great golf store and an excellent place to invest some money if you are buying new golf equipment, I would put this Golf Galaxy store on O'Kelly Chapel Rd (not on Walnut Street) at the top of your list! read more

I went in to try new drivers and expected a professional fitting service. The cameras and monitors only recorded half the shots, had to be rebooted multiple times, and the fitter never explained the readings on the screen. He just kept handing me different clubs to try. I've been playing a long time and have a swing speed in the 115-120 range with a high launch angle. I know with those metrics, the shaft is just important as the club. I asked about different shafts, and the rep said that it would take ten business days to order a new shaft so he was disinterested in switching shafts. He just stood there while I hit different drivers. I wasn't going to spend $600-$700 on a new driver without getting the proper fitting. I immediately drove over to Golf Etc for a professional fitting. We went through all the data of my swing speed, angle, smash factor, etc. I bought a new Callaway Xr/16 Pro with 8.5 degree loft and an Aldila Rogue shaft and it was done that day. Waiting 10 business days for a shaft??? Ridiculous! This is what I expected from Golf Galaxy but their reps are typical big box retailers that don't have any interest or expertise in doing the job right. If you want clothes, shoes, or balls, Golf Galaxy is fine but if you are about to spend $2,000 on new equipment, go somewhere else to have a proper fitting. read more
