We had heard all sorts of rumours about Goldies and the huge changes made. First, we did not know Ciro had passed; second, we heard the staff was gone; third, the food had gone downhill. After Ciro's death, the establishment closed briefly while the ownership was straightened out. This caused the staff to seek employment elsewhere. The food, which includes their famous jams, is still available and still excellent. While not having the first-name basis we enjoyed in the past, the service was spot on. The food was good. I enjoyed my breakfast. The exterior is brand new, while the inside is the same as it ever was. Rest in Peace, Ciro, and may the Perpetual Light Shine Upon You.

It's a local, family-owned business, and you can immediately tell they care deeply about quality and creating a place where people enjoy spending time. The coffee was outstanding. We love quality pour overs to enjoy the flavors of the beans and we especially loved trying the Ombligón coffee - something new that we'd never had before. It was incredibly delicious and a unique flavor profile. Learning that their coffee is single-origin from Colombia and that they maintain a relationship with the very farm that grows their beans made us appreciate it even more. It's not every day you find a coffee shop with that level of connection to its source. The café itself is clean and beautiful. There are many thoughtful details throughout the space, from the artwork to the décor that celebrates their Colombian heritage. It feels authentic, warm, and inviting. Music is great too! We were seated in a comfortable booth, and the overall ambiance was so lovely with high ceilings. We got there in time to enjoy a happy hour dinner menu. Probably the best part of the entire meal and its presentation was fantastic. Followed by the clam chowder. Lobster bisque was pretty bad as was the ceasar salad. Onto the main items. PRIME RIB. Many ordered this but not one person liked or finished theirs. In some cases overly fatty and in others the meat was super chewy and barely flavorful. Most of prime rib from all guests was taken home to feed to the dogs. Fish was a tri-tip, overly salty but also undercooked. Desserts - Have t say the donuts were the clear winner. Key Lime Pie had a gross drizzle of raspberry sauce (While do so many restaurants do this?). Creme de pot, so sweet that your teeth hurt from eating it. Look, if you are going to charge high prices and have a prix fix menu for a special occasion like mother's day or other, then THAT menu of items better be spot on and near perfect. It was a decent preparation of a white fish, whatever it was... The huge, loud room had the feel of a cafeteria. Lots of children too. Not romantic, cozy or quiet. View was okay. Service was fine. Still can't believe I was served a much different substitute fish.
