Prompt service, the food was packed very well in a large box with extra wonton strips, napkins, sauces, forks, and fortune cookies! I absolutely love this little spot. The noodles, Broccoli beef and king pao are delish! They also offer old school delivery if you live close by which is amazing bc tbh, i can't stand the new school delivery services. I've eaten in the restaurant twice, and the staff if very attentive, food is hot, and they have lunch specials that are a total hit. A solid 8/10 eating experience! Great food especially the beef with snow peas, the crunchy noodles dipped in the sweet & sour sauce were a nice appetizer. Fairly priced if you keep it to 2 entrees usually low 20's. Typical small Chinese restaurant with nice ambiance and great service. I usually do take out and the best part of that is no matter how much you order it's done in 10 minutes. I live close by so I thought what the heck let's try this place. Probably the worst Chinese food I've ever had. Beef broccoli, walnut shrimp, chow mein, egg flower soup, orange chicken, a standard order. I didn't enjoy anything but the soup, $65 of food in the trash. Small inside, maybe 8 tables, they have back stock billowing out in the dining room. Service was somewhat soulless. Just a lady up front trying to take your order and get you on your way. The food was quite good & the lunch menu comes with an egg roll, salad, & a choice of soup (hot & sour or egg flower). We also received fried won ton skins as an appetizer before we ordered. Chinese food catering to an Americanized palette. The mapo tofu wasn't as spicy as we'd expected but good nonetheless. The Szechuan eggplant was tasty, and the fish fillet with mixed vegetable did not disappoint. We were happy with the service. This was my first and last time to visit this restaurant. I usually go to HO HO China in Norwalk, but they were closed and it was a Tuesday, so I checked Yelp for another Chinese restaurant. Golden Wall came up and I placed a phone order for pickup. Upon arrival, there was a man and woman at the cash register and they didn't even say Hi or greeted me when I came in. After paying, the woman did not even say thank you before I left. The food was not the best and wish I can get my $45 back. I would give this place a zero if I could I placed a pickup order and the food made us sick. The chicken was dry and gross, looks old. The lo mein was super greasy. When I called to try to get my money back they said that it was made fresh and that it was basically my fault the food looked like that. But yet we were throwing up within 10 mins. The owner was also very unfriendly. The orange chicken sauce looked black and the texture and smell of the chicken was off. The chicken in black bean sauce was so salty that I could not eat it. I used to work here and I would eat the food in the back of the kitchen so here is my fair review. Back in the day when Ted was the owner, he ran a pretty tight ship. The guy was cool and he paid us fair. He fed us a lot of the times too. I can't complain about the original orange chicken, Mongolian beef, or the beef and broccoli dishes. As much as it was packed with sauce and high levels of MSG, the food made you feel good. When ownership changed, things started going downhill. It's not the same Golden Wall we once knew. read more

There are only 10 or so booths so it feels cozy like you're in someone's house. The website prices are mega outdated-- the dinner for 3 is now ~$35. Dinner for two for my husband and I consists usually of one or two entrees and the chicken lo mein. We like the broccoli beef and cashew chicken (we usually get easy bell pepper because they're not my fave. Not because it's not good, just too much for me). Don't let the look of the exterior fool you. Golden Wall had great reviews, but after looking at Yelp pictures of the exterior, I wasn't sure. We took a chance and are very happy we did. The restaurant is fairly small, but clean. We were greeted immediately and ordered our drinks which came quickly. We are pescatarian and found a great variety of dishes that met our dietary requirements. We ordered the salt and pepper fish, and Kung Pao tofu that wasn't on the menu.. Both dishes were incredible.
