This is an excellent Thai restaurant. It's family owned and very nicely decorated, and the owner is very personable and friendly. The food is delicious, I got the Pad Thai which was super tasty. We've been missing Thai since the owners of our favorite place retired. Looked up some places when visiting Utah and stumbled on Golden Thai -- it did not disappoint. The owners were friendly and we had some nice small talk, wife Marina lived near us in Nor Cal before joining her husband in Utah. I always have trouble deciding which dishes to order. We had two different curries, a green curry + coconut milk (and chicken) and a red curry with seafood. Oh, and some Drunken Noodles packed with a variety of fresh veggies. Someone has some mad knife skills, the carrots were cut in amazing cris-cross shapes. Choose the protein of your choice or keep it vegetarian. Since two of the three dishes were spicy I asked to have the spice toned down on the noodles. It was perfect and came with some chili powder on the side for the "some-like-it-hot" folks at the table. If I could give this place zero stars I would!!! I am not one to write reviews but I felt obligated. Worst customer service ever!!!!! I ordered food and they told me it would be ready in 30 minutes. I gave them 40 minutes. When I get the nasty lady in the front tells me in the most rude tone. It's not ready. I said ok we'll do you know how much longer I have to go back to work. She says I don't know, we are busy and walks away. Comes back several minutes later and says so you want it or no. So I can tell them not to cook it. The food is delicious, and the staff is super friendly. We had the masaman curry, drunken noodles, veggie spring rolls, cream cheese wontons and Thai tea. We had to try a little of it all and everything was superb. We will be back, many times. We tried Rad Na and Som Tum (Papaya salad). Both tasted very authentic. I spent more than half of my life in Thailand so I'm a snob when it comes to Thai food. The som tum was pretty spicy but that's how I like it. The sticky rice was great, too. The only reason I'm not giving a 5-star review is because the som tum had lettuce in it... That's the only part I thought wasn't super authentic and it just didn't go well with som tum. Next time I order som tum there I'd probably ask them to not put the lettuce in. I ordered the pineapple rice and mango curry. The fried rice was really tasty and had a milder flavor. The mango curry was made with coconut milk, really aromatically pleasing and flavorful. We came here just to try it out. As Thai cuisine lovers, we've been to so many Thai restaurants so needless to say, our standard is high. The staffs were helpful and so friendly. Even the chef went out to greet us. We felt so welcomed here. Next point is the foods. Oh My God... The foods were outstanding. This is one of those places that offer you quality with reasonable price. We ordered F1 (fried rice) and C7 (curry). I have absolutely no complain about them. Beautifully executed. Spot on seasoning. Fried rice is not greasy but flavourful. Toppings like shrimps can easily be overcooked which I have seen a lot. However, mine shrimps are cooked to perfection. Our curry is not just regular curry but has a twist to it. Lol. As stated on the menu, C7 is a combo of 3 types of curry (red, green and yellow). It sounded weird at first but we ordered it anyway. We have no regret doing so. The taste actually make sense. It's a combination of rich, creamy, not too spicy, light. In conclusion, we would, without a doubt, come back to try the whole menu. A solid 5 stars rating a week ago found us finding GTC. Ten stars I'd give if possible. Quality of food - outstanding! Golden Curry for me; a mix of yellow, green and red that delights the palate. Not too sweet, not too thick, just right with chicken almost melting in my mouth, it's tenderness perfect. My wife? The Thai Basil. Again, perfection. Prices and portions were just right. GTC owners, husband and wife, befriended us and talked about their history, family and restaurant goals. Lovely people. Nicely decorated in Thai motifs with warm, colorful walls. So good! The food was fantastic. We ordered a chicken red curry and a chicken mango curry. I love that you can pick your heat level. For me, medium (about a 5) was perfect. My husband had them do his red curry at a 6 and it was almost a little too hot for me, but perfect for him. The staff was very friendly and made sure we were taken care of.
