I got to try out their brownies (they also serve a variety of baked foods outside of just ice cream) and their strawberry cheesecake milkshake. Both were delicious. I was especially surprised by how amazing the brownies were. Awesome portion size, very chocolatey, pretty rich, and great texture as well. The milkshake was also great. Portion was nice, and they managed to get a nice strawberry flavor. I will say the base itself doesn't have much of a cheesecake flavor to it, but they include little bits of cheesecake throughout the milkshake to make up for that. All in all, a fantastic little ice cream shop to support and visit!

I ended up getting the ice cream taco because it was something new to try! For my flavors I got the strawberry cheesecake and the kitty kitty bang bang topped with whip cream and golden Oreo crumbles. It was very messy but delicious nonetheless. I would recommend trying the taco but I probably won't get it again because it's messy and I was wearing a cute dress at the time. I will definitely be back as they had a lot of great flavors to choose from. Definitely recommend checking them out!

This factory offers a *tour* on certain Friday evenings and Saturday afternoons. Each tour lasts about 90 minutes and costs $25 per person. The tour includes seeing the factory's machines, tasting ingredients, and receiving a pint of ice cream. Through Millie's website, I purchased two tickets for a tour of the factory. On the day of the tour, my husband and I parked our vehicle in the free parking lot near the building. Inside the factory, the tour guide Quinn asked customers to sign a legal agreement and then gave us hairnets to wear. We started our tour on time. Quinn began the tour by telling the history of the business. Next, we walked through an antibacterial on the floor to clean the outsoles of our shoes. Quinn showed us a bottler machine, and they gave us samples of milk and chocolate milk to taste. This milk came from Twin Brook Dairy Company and was very rich. Quinn explained that Millie's is both a dairy processor and an ice cream manufacturer. Millie's creates ice creams completely from scratch and does not use any premade dairy bases. Then Quinn showed us machines that mix and cook ingredients. Common ingredients for Millie's ice creams are milk, heavy cream, egg yolk for French-style ice creams, salt, and cane sugar. Additional ingredients could include real vanilla, caramel sauce, coffee, beet root powder for color (no artificial colors), responsibly sourced chocolate, etcetera. Millie's pasteurizes these ingredients together, cooking them at approximately 165 degrees Fahrenheit for about 30-35 minutes. Quinn allowed the customers to smell and taste some of these ingredients. Next, Quinn showed us a machine that cools the ice creams and then a machine that is used to package the ice creams. They explained that the machines are cleaned with a hot acid flush and hot water. At the end of the tour, Quinn gave miniature cups of four ice creams-vanilla, best chocolate, coffee, and dairy-free mango--to each customer to taste-test. Then each customer got to select a pint of ice cream to take home.

Pittsburgh favorite ice cream shop is opened for the season!!…read more One of those ice cream shops where if someone mentions it, you have to go. With so many creative flavors, desserts, and toppings there is something for everyone here. On warm days, wait time can be up to an hour but I promise it's worth the wait. There are informational walls on Page's backstory as you get closer to the ordering wall and a huge menu to look at as you get closer as well. In additional to ice cream, they also serve quick American diner-esque bites, coffees, and drinks. The highlight is the ice cream but these options are not bad as well.

Luckily, we live relatively close, so we have plenty of chances to drive by and hope for a shorter line. My usual order is the Arctic Swirl with vanilla ice cream and M&M's mixed in, which comes in medium or large. It's simple, nostalgic, and always hits the spot. My husband's go-to is the Nancy B sundae, which is another favorite in our family. Now that my toddler is 2, she loves going to the "ice cream store," which makes Page's feel even more special for us. I love that it's a multi-generational business and hope they continue to have success for many years to come.

Since then, I've seen Leona's ice cream sandwiches at various supermarkets, but it's always been a tad on the pricey side! I would also consider myself an ice-cream aficionado but I can't say the same about the sandwich form! Fast forward a year and somehow I see a menu for Leona's ice cream sandwiches and they are the most luxurious combinations I had ever seen! I was under the impression that everything was dairy-free so I knew I had to finally stop by! We had dinner down the street and we absolutely had to stop by for dessert. Service was friendly from the moment we came in, and in addition to getting some very tasty samples I even learned the wallpaper was designed by the same woman who worked on the team art for the NFL Draft this year! Anyways, ice cream was delicious. There's a rotating list of flavors, and I happened to try the raspberry ripple, ube, and strawberry. They all happened to be dairy free, but I'm not sure that everything on the menu actually is. Everything is clearly labeled though! I wasn't a fan of the cookies that day so I ended up going with a scoop. Scoop size descriptions were also excellent! The mini is a golf ball, and the regular is a tennis ball. The strawberry was DELICIOUS and I would absolutely get it again, I also don't know how I could walk by in the future without stepping in!

This shop is located in what used to be a house. The inside is small and consists of two wire racks with snacks and pastries for sale, a bathroom, and a window to order from. It was incredibly busy the day we were there, and some people in line even had to wait outside. Since my twins were being rowdy, I went to wait outside at one of their outdoor picnic tables while my wife ordered our drinks. For our coffee on this morning, I went with a large latte with toasted marshmallow, while my wife chose an iced hazelnut latte. My coffee here ended up being decent, as I was able to taste both the sweetness from the toasted marshmallow syrup as well as the coffee and milk, which was appreciated. Then my wife also enjoyed her hazelnut latte, especially the strong hazelnut flavor. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. Both my wife and I enjoyed our coffees here, and I would like to try either an affogato or their ice cream.
