Because of Visit PA's 2023 Scooped An Ice Cream Trail, we traveled over hill over dale to find Kerber's Dairy. We earned our 5th pin. Only 1 more pin to earn our ice cream scoop. We had so many choices. It was a difficult decision. We all had waffle cones and enjoyed the air condition. We couldn't leave without some quarts of pre-packed ice cream and gigantic chocolate chip cookies. The attached putt putt course was ranked as the best one we have experienced. We all agreed that the first hole with a waterway was AWESOME. The families in front of us were moving slow, so we did the hole twice. Definitely worth the trip. read more

Ice cream I had here was ok. Nothing stellar. We really enjoyed the mini golf they had! It's $7 per person to play the 18 holes. I think my favorite hole was one where you had to hit the ball through water to get to the hole. Make sure to call ahead of time to get the hours for the course because they are different than the hours for the ice cream shop. Lots of fun and would definitely return! read more

I've been here twice now! It's a long drive from Murrysville but there's nothing else close by where I live. I did the $8.50 special last year which included: hayride, small ice cream and a small pumpkin. Good value! This year, the hubs and I did tubing ($5/each) for unlimited rides for 30min for paid time. Due to the colder weather and no crowds, we got to go down the hill 7x! The ride down and the conveyor belt up were both fun! I LOVE the food here. I always get their crispy chicken tenders and their ice cream. Yesterday, they also had this BBQ station outside so my hubs was all over their ribs. It was pretty expensive ($11 for 5 spare ribs) and no sides. If I go again, I'll make sure to get their Kielbasa and sauerkraut. I got the junior size ice cream in lemon dream and the lady behind the counter packed THREE large scoops for me! It was enormous so I shared with my hubby. That was $3. I like their variety of flavors and thickness of the cream but I'm not a fan of the artificial colors they use. Neon blues, greens, reds and yellows are gross to me. But in terms of taste, no complaints. read more

The ice cream tasted good. I did notice that my husband's ice cream that was supposed to be 1 scoop of 1 flavor was actually 4 scoops. My ice cream that was supposed to be 2 scoops of 2 flavors was actually 3 scoops total--less ice cream than what my husband's ice cream was, although his ice cream cost half the price of mine. I suggest that this business standardize how many scoops that they give to people. Aside from the ice cream, we also played a round of mini golf. The course was maintained well. Kerber's also has a convenience store, deli, playground, all-season tubing, and a petting zoo, which I somehow did not see. read more

I have been coming here since I was a child. It's never a let down. It has expanded greatly since I started coming here. They have a mini golf course when its nice out and snow tubing in the winter. I haven't had the pleasure of trying either but it looks fun. There is a nice play area outside for children and inside the shop they offer convenient store items, pastries, a small deli, ice cream by the half and whole gallon, and of course by the cone or cup. Plenty of options for everyone. This farm fresh ice cream is unbeatable. The flavors change often and the scoop size is unfathomable. You will be sure to develop favorites when you start coming to Kerbers. read more

Friendly service goes a long way for me and here at Kerber's, I most certainly did not receive it. I kindly asked that my elderly companion get a single, which is two scoops, but of two different ice creams. I was scolded by a woman with a southern/mountain accent, and told I could only buy a double, which would be more or less 4 scoops of ice cream. I asked her again, explaining that there is no way my companion would be able to eat that much ice cream, and she looked at me and rudely said something along the lines of, "No, I'm not going to give you two flavors for a single!" For a place that has great ice cream, it's a shame that it lacks customer service. I know I won't be coming back for quite a while. read more

What I like about Kerber's: it's close and generally convenience. They have a great selection of hard ice cream flavors and, like most other reviewers, I agree they are delicious! My husband and I really like their milk and iced tea, too. But, more importantly, the customer service is terrible. There are a bunch of young girls working there. They can't count change back, never say thank you, etc. On one occasion, I had to pay with my debit card (which I rarely do) and one of the girls was in the back talking on the phone to her boyfriend. I knew this because when I was waiting in line one of the other girls told her she had a phone call from said boyfriend. I was told that I had to wait for the girl to get off of the phone before she could run my debit card through, since they run off of the same line, I suppose. This was unacceptable, and I did call and speak to Mr. Kerber and complain. My complaint was taken seriously, which I was happy about. Other bad thing, from mid September to the end of October, forget just running in for some milk and bread. They are so packed and under-staffed due to the hayrides and people buying pumpkins and what have you, that you wait way too long just to grab a few small items. read more

This was my first ice cream store. And my first love. I grew up walking to the store, and have experienced it's expansion since then. I'm a little upset now that they sell convenience-store-like goods at their Guffey Road location, but I'll get over it. I'm nostalgic for the old days. The ice cream is amazing, attributable to the fact that they make it all right there, I think. Maybe it's the milk they use. I'm not a big milk drinker, but to this day, Kerber's skim milk is all I will drink plain (because really, any milk will do when there are Oreos to be dipped). This makes it a little difficult since I've moved out of the area, but I always bring milk back with me after a visit home. The flavors are unique and endless. My favorite pairing is the same as when I was a kid: Orange Pineapple and Black Raspberry. They are the only ice cream store I've come across that keeps the chocolate chips out of the black raspberry (and therefore allows me to pair it with more). Flavors rotate by season, so there is always something new to try. I also love how much ice cream you get here. I always get the junior scoop, and it's definitely comparable to a small at most other places, if not more. I'm a bit spoiled by this, and other ice cream shops always pale in comparison because of this. In my book, Kerber's is the best ice cream I've had. I don't know if anyone can beat it, really. The Creamery at Penn State gave it a run, but not much can beat the local vibe, unique flavors, variety, and all-around-goodness of Kerber's. read more

The ice cream is awesome but there needs to be an express lane for people with out kids who know what kind of ice cream they want. Seriously Every car that shows up has 7 kids in it who don't know what they want and need to get free samples to help make up their mind. Good ice cream in the area! I love the long list of flavors available year-round. It's reasonably priced and also has a little mini mart for things like bread, cereal, snacks, etc. much like a small convenience store. I have never tried any of their deli items, but I stop in about once a week specifically for ice cream. I really want to continue to see this place do well! My only reservations on giving a higher rating are due to mixed encounters with the staff. Sometimes they are really friendly, while other times I have witnessed/experienced odd encounters. I only have about two minutes to form an impression since I am running in and out for an ice cream cone, so it doesn't really affect my experience. But in regards to the ice cream itself, some days it is really runny and almost seems half-melted in the cone before I even leave the store (on a cold winter day, at that). Other days it's perfect, so I guess it's just a temperature fluctuation with their freezers. Either way, I would recommend Kerber's for a nice sweet treat that beats the typical Dairy Queen or other chain places in the area. read more

An extremely unique attraction in the suburban area of North Huntington. You may look at the sign and assume you're walking into another generic ice cream parlor, but you're not. You are walking into an ice cream parlor with dozens of flavors, a deli, and convenience store. And that's just on the inside. On the outside you can play a cheap round of mini golf, with extensive water features. During the summer and fall you can go summer tubing (Tubing on turf with a conveyor belt that takes you back up). There is also a playground for the kids, a giant tube slide down a hill, and a sheep feeding pen. The owners also have painted a comic strip like illustration of the origin of their business. If you look into the distance, you can see "KERBERS" written on the nearby hillside. read more

I took my Kindergarten students here on a field trip yesterday. The staff and owners were beyond kind and accommodating. They were excited to have us there and made our visit smooth AND safe! Absolutely the best "hard" ice cream around. Not sure what other reviewer is talking about. We've been getting Kerber's cones for 30 years and a single has always been ONE very large scoop (only ONE flavor) and a double has always been TWO scoops - can be two different flavors. Sometimes I wish I could just try them all! I will agree that the servers aren't the most tactful or courteous. Someone from the Kerber family needs to go incognito and see what people are saying. read more

It has a lot of potential and the ice cream was pretty good BUT I found the customer service at the ice cream counter to be rude and condescending. My family has owned a very successful small business for 40 years and I know that you get nowhere unless you treat your customers right. The young girls behind the counter acted put out that my 11 year old son politely asked if they had cherry ice cream. No one smiled at us and we were not spoken to with any decency or respect. Then we went outside to look at the new golf course and tubing hill. A man associated with Kerber's asked what we were looking at. My son (who is autistic) told the man that he wouldn't want to try the tubing because he didn't like steep hills. The man had the nerve to call my son a "wimp" and it wasn't delivered in a fun-loving way. My son tried to explain to the man that his fear comes from the feeling of being out of control. But I could tell by the man's attitude that he was not interested in the customer at all. I will not return. read more
