I rarely leave reviews - but this needed to be done. Terrible SERVICE and very dishonest CHEAPEST aluminum fence was installed in our yard. Dogs are able to bend the slats and bends with minimal human strength. TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY! Giovanni - Owner became involved and was literally scary as to how he responded to our photos and complaints. So untrustworthy. Our aluminum fence was the lowest quality - Home Depot/Menard's quality was far superior material. RUN - they do poor work and use garbage low end materials and DO NOT STAND by the fencing they install. Horrific experience. 0 Stars. We hired Golden Fence. We had a few quotes, some higher and some lower. But a friend of mine recommended them, so we chose them. Overall, the initial contact was quite decent. We already had little experience with fences, including prices and turnaround times, as we live in a new development and someone builds a fence every week. On the day our fence was installed, another company was building fences for three of our neighbors: two vinyl fences and one cedar fence. This company had a crew of six, and that day they decorated two full vinyl fences and concreted the posts on the third property. Golden Fence sent one worker to us, which was a red flag for me. We had already made it clear that we wanted the fence finished quickly because we have two dogs. The very next day, the worker informed us that they wouldn't be able to finish the fence that day. But he assured me it would be 100% finished the next day. I should point out that he started building the fence on Thursday, so he assured me it would be finished by Friday. On Friday, it turned out he wouldn't be finished on Friday because he'd have to add a gate to the fence. He immediately assured me not to worry, that it wasn't him, but his colleague, who was very fast at work, and that he would finish it and come check it out on Saturday, the third day. My gut feeling told me otherwise, so my wife tried to contact Golden Fence and find out if someone would come and finish the job on Saturday. Unfortunately, by Sunday evening, no one had contacted us, and on Sunday, someone replied that someone wouldn't come until Wednesday and might finish our fence. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. First of all, how can you send just one person to do such a job? I look at other companies to see how professional and organized they are. I'd rather pay $200 or $300 extra and have it done in one day, rather than having it take six days. I regret investing the money and time in this company. read more

Golden Fence was by far one of the more reasonably priced quotes I received for a wooden fence installation. I only had to replace one side of my yard due to (was not sure who the previous owners had used/no signage on fence) rotting wood and damage. Octavio, my sales rep, came when he was scheduled for and was accommodating of my work schedule. He measured out my fence and gave me a quote within 15 minutes, on the spot. I liked this a lot because other companies dragged. One slight complaint is that the second day (first day was only tear down of old fence) it was raining in the morning and then had stopped by 10 am; I had been told the crew would come between 10-11 am. At 11:30 I called to see if they would be arriving and received an apology that no one called me but they wouldn't be coming that day due to the rain. My husband ended up calling a little later because the crew left wood pieces in my neighbor's yard which was an issue and since the rain had stopped earlier in the morning, could they just finish that day since it was slated to rain more the rest of the week. The positive of this was that they accommodated right away and sent a crew to complete the job and our fence came out great! The job took 2 days for 160 feet of land one side. Due to the pricing and turnaround time, I would use Golden Fence again if the remainder of my wood fence ever needs replacing. read more

They were really difficult to schedule and wouldn't return our calls. The 3-4 week lead time turned into 7. Here's where you need to be careful: Giovanni was trying to slap an extra $1800 post install on our bill without explanation. After a call talking in circles, he dropped it to $1500. He tried to say we used extra material when really all we added on from the quote was an extra gate ($450). We used less fence and were pretty sure about it. We asked for a formal update of an invoice in writing with the extra material used. He sent us an email with just the cost. Like literally said "additional cost 1500". Nothing about feet of extra material, labor, or anything. When questioned again, I think they thought we would just pay it because we're nice?? But there were not any numbers to suffice. Via email they told us we were "overthinking it"... still without providing us true numbers of increased material. Again we're not going to just pay it. We ended up measuring it out and sending the numbers to Gio before he actually showed up to remeasure. We were quoted at 284ft. We only used 279ft and added a gate. We paid ~$197.00 extra, not $1,800. I will say their laborers were fantastic! But I'm not sure that I would want to have to spend time trying to schedule or deal with yucky sales tactics again. I called and got an immediate response from the office and Octavio came out and got a quote immediately along with an email of the quote. Beware of this company. They will lure you in with the politeness of an older gentlemen. He will then send his incompetent Son to attempt to smooth over his transgressions. Plain and simple avoid this company. They do not know how to clean up, they do not know how to install. I have so many errors from my install its insane. I will attach pictures ASAP. Please beware of this company and please please please do not spend your money on them. I regret all $7500 spent on this father/son scam team. Everything went wrong. Signed a contract, said it would be completed it in 4 weeks. It ended up taking almost 8 weeks. They did not clean up post installation. I had bricks, metal rods, and major debris everywhere. I have a 65 year old mother who I alongside cleaned up most of the debris with. They sent out a team with 1 home broom and it "broke". They didnt think to send someone out to get a proper broom, or a replacement. They ruined my hose which they used without permission. How did they ruin it? They stuck the end into cement and it ended up hardening over... Another $60 lost... The biggest insult to injury? They dont know how to install the gate closing/locking mechanism. Not only is egregiously off center and has differing heights, the cement they used to hold the post is breaking. This is the absolute worst company you could ever spend your money on. I regret every dollar spent on this incompetent company. I believe they do some fishy things to get positive reviews. Do not trust them, they lie about the most simple things... I set up an appointment with the company to get and estimate a week prior to the date that the estimator/sales person was to come out. They gave me a 2 hour window and picked the date themselves. The day I was to meet the estimator I waited for 2 hours and no one showed up or called to cancel. I called the company and they said that they would reach out to the estimator/sales person and get back to me. I received a call back saying that they can not reach the estimator/sales person and that I should reschedule. After 2 hour of waiting and no phone call or any type of communication how can you trust a company like that to be prompt in doing the work or even have confidence to wait an other 2 hours on a different day just so they can have a shot at your business. Zero stars for Golden Fence. Giovanni, one of the owners, provided our quote. We waited 3 weeks longer than expected but we did understand delays can occur. At no time did the company respond to us when we waited. Once the install occured, the problems piled up from product quality to installation. Not sure what was worse, the service or quality. Cheapest products from China used and not what we were quoted. When we reached out specially to Giovanni he was dismissive, defensive and downright RUDE. He was more interested in arguing than listening to me and my partner. His unprofessional attitude was shocking. He never sent out an installer to help with the fence falling off the hinges. The hinges bent due to poor quality fencing and not being aligned correctly. Nightmare around our pool! Another company had to fix the mess. We spent over $10,000 for flimsy fencing, and that is a complaint. Run from Golden Fence. Their quotes are cheaper because they cut corners and use lowest quality fencing. So disappointing and ruined our summer by our pool. Repairing/redoing the fence cost us over $5000 with another fence company to fix their mess. Octavio (one of the owners?) came out to give me a quote to put in an oak horse fence. Half way through the job he told me he didn't measure correctly and wanted hundreds of dollars more to complete the job. I said I'd pay half. When project was finished my horses told me the posts were pine--a soft wood that horses loved to eat. Some posts were eaten halfway through. Fence was beautiful but would fall down within months if left alone. Octavio said he could fix it but at a cost of THOUSANDS of dollars more!! I said I'd pay half. Haven't heard from him since. Also 2 of his workers did not know how to back a trailer and did quite a lawn job across my property and took out a drainage ditch. I made them fix it before paying them for this separate job. Golden fence also left a rusted metal plate on the front gate unpainted and stuck a plastic door bell on the front of it, not what we agreed to. They claim they are finished. I am hiring another fence company to clean up after Golden Fence and repair the poorly crafted work they performed. These guys did a great job installing my 6' cedar fence on the east side of my backyard. There was a time concern as well as I had a tenant moving in and had promised the fence to be complete before they arrived and even though it was winter and otherwise tough conditions, Eric and Giovanni made sure to get the job scheduled and completed on time - in the middle of January.
