Food was fast and good, little pricey (but what isn't anymore). Staff was courteous, place seemed clean (picked up, didn't eat inside).

After picking up my dad from the airport, we were both wanting Chinese food as there is none by where I live. Golden Dragon is easy to find and has plenty of parking. As soon as we walked in, our waitress seated us and brought us menus and waters. We both ordered the lunch special that are plates full of yummy food and reasonably priced. The food came out fairly quickly after we finished our silky egg drop soup. I had the dumplings, pork fried rice and chicken chow mein (lots of veggies and not heavy with noodles). My dad had egg foo young, sweet and sour chicken, and pork fried rice. New to CDA and kids were craving Chinese food. We were told by a few locals not to go here but we decided to try it anyway...see for ourselves. Welp the reviews are right. Service great, food terrible, and prices skyrocket. We got 5 items (take away) and dinner was $100- which included being charged $3 for a skimpy bag of crispy noodles. The services was friendly though, which is why I gave this review a 2. But we all agreed the food was terrible. Mongolian beef and snow peas had the same bland gelatinous sauce and same veggies. We think they just made the same plates and put in different boxes. Orange chicken was breaded so much we couldn't tell if there was any chicken- over cooked and sauce was burnt. Hot and sour soup was peppery spicy, and after about 10 min sitting waiting to cool down, it turned gelatinous well. It's just not worth it for the price. read more

You can say that the place smells weird, the parking is terrible, the food isn't very good or whatever you want, even if you don't actually believe it. You can even say it has ghosts. I don't care. I wouldn't stop you. However, you cannot deny one single fact. The Golden Dragon has an an absolutely mediocre bathroom. Upon entering, you're greeted by a kinda small toilet. I was at first offended by the height of said porcelain throne, but figured maybe the shorter among us feel similar about higher seated places of personal business. It wasn't cold when I went but I appreciated the sight of a heater to apparently keep your bare legs warm during the vulnerable position of answering nature's call during the cold North Idaho winters. I don't have anything particularly bad to say about this restroom other than it definitely needs a good cleaning as grime and other unsavory substances have built up over years. I appreciate the garbage can being placed near the door, but much like it's brother in charge of disposing a different kind of waste, it's a little bit small and low to the ground for my liking. Ultimately, if you ever find yourself at the Golden Dragon, you can take solace in the fact that you will have a completely adequate time. read more

Let's start out swinging. If you are eating here, please take out a small loan because you're gonna need it. Food is mediocre at best, for 2 people we got the general tsos chicken $21.95 ( decent ) crab Rangoon's $13.50 ( good ) and Mongolian beef $20.95 ( okay ) these 3 combined costed $61.95. Can't imagine a family of 4 trying to eat here , total rip off for the amount of food you get. Please go somewhere else. We have been going to Golden Dragon almost since they opened in Post Falls. It is an OK place. Food quality is as good as any, Service is good. Most of the waitresses have been there for quite some time. Place could use a deep clean and sprucing up, but it fits the mold of most Asian restaurants. Now the bad - their prices are a bit high. When I say "a bit" I mean by about 20 - 30%. Now, you do get a bunch of food, but you are going to pay for every morsel. 2 "senior" dinners (3 items $15.95 ea), substituted the chow mein for the house chow (+$12.00) and an order of BBQ pork and seeds ($14.95) will set you back $61. You will get at least 1 more meal out of the 2, so I guess the average is about $20 per including the BBQ pork. But still seems "a bit" high to me. read more

We ordered the General Tso chicken to take home, what a disappointment. Horrible food, sauce was way off what it should have been and the chicken was very odd, tiny cubes heavy breaded. And what is the deal with being so stingy with the rice, real 2 tablespoons. Rice is the cheapest thing and you can't even give enough to go with an entree. Also, way over priced $20 really! I'm not a fan of Crab Rangoon because most places put a dense blob of cream cheese mixed with imitation krab & green onions inside a wonton wrapper & fry it & serve it with an unnaturally red colored sweet and sour sauce. Not so at Golden Dragon. It's a fluffy light delicious filling inside that same deep fried wonton wrapper but served with brown sweet & sour sauce. Hot & Sour Soup was pretty good but needed a touch of sugar, not for sweetness, but to balance out the flavors. Still, I downed 2 cups & my companion had 1 cup and we went home with a cup each. The Honey Walnut Shrimp were rich, creamy, crunchy goodness. The favorite dish of the night? Black Bean Pork Ribs! Bite sized pieces of tender pork ribs in a savory black bean sauce with green & red bell pepper, onion, baby corn & pea pods. I noticed that people who ordered the same old stuff from the combination menu got their food pretty quickly. But you have to wait a little longer for the real deal. DO NOT EAT HERE. The prices are ABSOLUTELY OUTRAGEOUS. Portions for the price are ABSURD! We were charged over $100 for a box of chicken chow Mein, two entrees of orange chicken, a lemon chicken entree, 3 egg rolls and rangoons. The food was not worth that price. Plus we got one container of rice for all of us, should have been one per entree... and to top it off, only two packets of soy sauce, AND NO napkins or Chop sticks even!!! However, in this instance I felt compelled to write about my first impressions because of what I perceived to be a large number of recent Yelp ratings and comments. My impressions are about food quality ONLY. At the time I am writing this, Golden Dragon has no dine-in option due to covid. This was not the best Chinese food I have ever had, but it's not even close to the worst. I sampled their won ton soup, chow Meir, sweet and sour pork, almond chicken and egg rolls. The food was all very good. My only complaint is that they forgot my fortune cookies! This is Post Falls, Idaho - not the Chinatown district of Seattle or San Francisco. This seems to me to be a family-owned traditional Chinese restaurant. The food was hot and fresh and the flavors were all good. And... it was more convenient than driving 20 minutes in the snow to Coeur d'Alene or Farther to Spokane. So - I don't get the haters. Enjoy the food. read more

Learned my lesson will not go back , prices are very high quality is in the mud . The last four times we ordered take out it was terrible and it was pork fried rice and chicken fried rice for crying how can you mess up rice it was like eating rice that sat out to long hard and way over cooked after the second time we should just have not gone back but you want to give them a chance, our last order was sweet and sour chicken two orders cost almost 50.00 so bad that was enough will not go back , too much money to just toss food in garbage , we need another Chinese Restaurant in Post Falls. read more

Paid over 50 dollars for cold food and hard wonton that had been dried out, without any sweet and sour sauce! When we asked for the red sweet and sour we got some weird sauce and ketchup! I would absolutely stay away from here. Expect to pay a whopping $65+ for two. (Money that can be better spent elsewhere) I ordered orange chicken and a general tsao, and ended up substituting plain rice for fried rice for a surprising extra 4 dollars since it's not already included. I opened the box of fried rice and expected the usual fried rice you get anywhere else with all the veggies and ham but nope; I simply got rice dipped in soy sauce. Portions were also small for the price but that was not a problem for me given how I was unable to finish the food with how incredibly spicy it was and quality was completely below par. The food I ordered is generally not supposed to be spicy so I have no clue where that came from. You will have better luck at Panda Express just 5 minutes down the road. I ordered the Shrimp Egg Foo Young and their Egg Foo Young is all egg and vegetable...I was puzzled when I saw the 5 shrimp on the top, there was no shrimp in the Egg Foo Young??? So I asked the waitress and she told me that's how they serve this dish. They put the meat of whatever Egg Foo Young you order on the top and I was surprised, the cost for 4 Egg Foo Young patties and five shrimp was expensive. They use sliced flimsy chicken lunch meat in their combo meals, it was gross. I like spicy, so I asked for some Chili Oil and they charge $2.18 for a tablespoon of it...I've never been to a restaurant where they charge you for condiments. I'll stick to Top of China in Coeur d'Alene. I would rate them a zero star if I could, believe me, 1 star is too good for this restaurant. read more

First time in. It was decent. Bo Bo platter, to satisfy the nibbles / appetizer. It was solid, we enjoyed it. The shrimp was lovely (this bears mentioning in a moment) I got the General Zhao Chicken. Would not order again. It was quite obvious that it was made out of the cheapest grossest chicken available. I do realize that not everyone uses chicken breast for these dishes. However, I prefer the ones that do, or at least offer an up-charge to have it made out of the breast. Husband got the combo fried rice. Delicious!! Just didn't not care for the shrimp. They did not taste fresh. Not quite bad, but maybe tomorrow...they will turn. It didn't taste far off. The rest of it though, amazing. Will definitely order it again sans shrimp. I knew the reviews weren't great but a friend recommended. 37.00 for eight dumplings, some mushy, half fried, goupy almond chicken and shrimp fried rice (actually quite good) is not a bargain. Ordered at 4:40 for 6:15 pm pick up and still had to wait til 6:30 for food. Place seems busy and I don't know why other than no other Chinese in Post Falls.
