This place is what my Hubby would call a "Chinese diner," but it was exactly what I was looking for, for a comfort food meal on an RV trip. We did their family style meal, and those include your basics, and nothing off a secret menu. That is what I wanted. Our hostess was a sweety, and treated us like I'm sure she treats all the nice folks who come here. It seems to be just her out front, and probably her Hubby in the back cooking the great food. It's not a big place, with maybe about eight small tables, so a big group may want to look for a diff place. We were craving Chinese and were in Hayden, so we stopped here. Glad we did. It's small but comfortable. There was one lady answering the phones, handling to go orders, and waiting on tables in the restaurant. She did an amazing job and smiled the whole time. There is no alcohol served here, but the hot tea warmed us up as it was cold and wet outside. The portions are generous and reasonably priced. The Hot & Sour Soup was full of fresh veggies, chicken, and tofu. We were given a ketchup squeeze bottle of pepper sauce to make the soup with just the right amount of heat. Mu Shu Pork had plenty of cabbage, pork, scrambled eggs, and veggies. It's served with the traditional pancakes and hoisin sauce. The Mongolian Beef had plenty of meat, but not too spicy, and onions served on a bed of fried rice noodles. The Sesame Chicken was batter fried with a sweet sauce and a light sprinkle of sesame seeds. A bit sweet and needed more sesame flavor. We were also given two bowls of fluffy and sticky white rice. We ended up taking plenty home for another meal. We noticed many regulars were dining there, which is a good thing. read more

Wow. Finally found LEGIT Chinese food. Do yourselves a huge favor and ignore negative reviews including "tasteless" food. Apparently Covid messed up their tastebuds. I had the lunch combo K3 (sweet & sour chicken, pork fried rice, and chicken chow mein). Everything was incredibly fresh and delicious! This is easily the best Chinese I've had in a while. I can say the best in North Idaho and Spokane in my opinion. I ordered the Paupau's Kitchen Special Stir Fried Noodles with an egg roll. (Packed with assorted meat and vegetables) Egg roll is unique but very tasty. If you're craving authentic, please come here and pay a little bit more for cook to order Chinese. I ordered the chicken fried rice and did not like it. Not sure what but it smelled like celery. I'm not very picky and eat a lot of fried rice from other places. Try Chinatown. Plus they only take cash or check but don't tell you until you're there. read more

The food is always great I have so many good memories going there with my mom and dad when I was a little kid. The old lady who owns it (can't recall her name) has always been so kind to my family and has even stopped by our house. The interior could definitely be improved but it's not a big deal. read more

Nice people ... tasteless food. They have an authentic approach to their food, but it lacks major flavor. The plus is that they use fresh vegetables but that's pretty much it. The food tastes just like it looks ... pretty bland. We ordered king pao chicken $13, beef Stir fried noodles $12 and cashews chicken $13. All the food tastes pretty much the same, just a different texture. Anyone who submits a higher review is doing it because of nostalgia and or they know the people and it's not hard to want to leave them a review. They are super nice. It's a small town so everyone is extremely friendly and the owners seem to know a lot of the regulars that were ordering to go. It was a Friday night and every place we called was backed up with longer waits. Pro's - incredibly nice people. Very clean and tidy.. probably the cleanest bathroom I've seen at a restaurant. We ordered our food to go. Unfortunately, we used the menu prices on the photos here (Yelp). Don't make that mistake. We assumed they were correct and when I ordered I didn't ask and they didn't tell me the total for our order. It ended up being twice as much as we expected. The food: We ordered Kao Pao Chicken, Pork Fried Rice, Szechuan Beef, Chicken Chowmain, and Almond Chicken. It was good. Lots of vegetables. A lot of onion. Ordered 2 different combination dinners, "to go" since they are not open for sit down dining. Based off of reviews we were looking forward to authentic Chinese food. Instead we got $27 worth of tasteless, dried out food, the rest was deep fried with old grease, so you got soggy, greasy sweet and sour prawns and grease soaked almond fried chicken! We tossed both meals away. We would have been happier with a frozen dinner. I would not recommend this place, We highly recommend passing them by, horrible food and rushed non helpful service. read more

They need to update their menu online since the order was $15 more than expected. The sesame chicken was AWFUL - all breading and no chicken, overcooked and inedible. The won tons went straight to the trash - also overcooked and flavorless. Very disappointing. read more
