My wife and I have driven past this restaurant for years now and never stopped. We finally did. We shared the combo #3 and enjoyed every bit. I ordered Duck , billed for duck ! what they gave me was spare ribs all but one bone removed , my ribs came on a bed of cabbage with orange slices , some unknown sauce that I've never had before - ( when you order duck it never comes deboned and always in a whole meal ) I learned this while living in Hong Kong working in Kowloon china while in the navy , my mother in law owned 4 restaurants between the two cities - this place isn't that good anymore ! read more

First chinese food I've had that had less taste of Chinese cooking than a frozen dinner. The bbq pork ribs come in a scarry hot-pink sauce with zero taste. The pork itself was absolutely bland. No traditional spices. The chicken in the chow mein was dried out making me suspect it was yesterday's leftovers. So disappointing. We went here last night for the first time. The place is large, and very clean. We both ordered the #4 combination. Choice of egg flower or hot and sour soup. We chose egg flower. It was not super thick with cornstarch and could have been just a touch hotter, but very flavor full. Lots of carrots, peas, water chestnut and bamboo shoots. The food arrived promptly and the servings very generous. 6 fried prawns, a scoop of pork fried rice. The pork was actually incorporated into the rice, not just shaved on top. Pork egg fu Yung. The gravy was yellowish instead of the usual tan but, it was full of flavor and the egg fu Yung was perfectly cooked with no burnt edges. The chicken subgum chow mien was excellent. Choice of crispy or soft noodles, we chose soft. Why it is called chicken is beyond me. Yes, there was chicken and pork and beef and an abundance of vegetables, not just the celery chow mien that usually comes in a combo plate. So many flavors, it was delicious. Service was good, price is very reasonable by today's standards of high inflation. This is the best Chinese food we've had in a very long time and I think this will be our go to restaurant! read more

I'm from out of town visiting my Granddaughter. Found this restaurant on google maps and gave it a try. I'm only in town for 8 days and have been twice. Have been driving by for months and finally decided to stop in and try it out. Supporting local is important. Got the #5 and #10 off the dinner menu. First off the good: ingredients were fresh and made to order. Everything was light and cooked just right. Chicken Sub Gum Chow Mein, Hong Kong Lo Mein, and Pork Fried Rice was great. On the not so good the portions were definitely on the smaller side. Sauces for the almond chicken and sweet and sour pork were - different. Other reviewers have noted similar reactions to the sauce. Who would have thought that the best Chinese food in the inland northwest would be in Rathdrum, ID? I lived in China for 4 years and can confirm that Wah Hing hits just the right balance of being authentic while also catering to the what we as Americans have come to consider "Chinese food." The food is always hot and fresh and the portions are large. I particularly recommend the orange chicken and Mongolian beef. They're always a win in my home! The prices are a bit steep in my opinion, but it's absolutely worth it for an occasional treat. If you plan to order for Christmas Eve or other big events, make sure you order well in advance as they often get slammed on holidays! read more

I've tried this place twice. First time a huge tub of brown water in the kitchen that was the first thing I saw when I walked in. Waiter goofed up on my order that I was paying extra for. Giving me the cheaper. I've never had Almond Fried Chicken with yellow goop. I've never seen Chineses food with such strange tasting sauces as well as how they look. When I left, checked the parking lot and only vehicle capable of transporting that lot had Washington plates. Good food. Love the soups and lunch specials. The kung pao is sometimes too spicy so I stopped ordering it but tried it again recently and it was great. When I'm not feeling well I love how the wor wonton soup makes me feel better. Loaded with chicken, shrimp, veggies and wontons. My family loves the mooshu pork. The egg fu young is delicious. The sauce it comes with is a little off looking (think bright yellow, thickened chicken stock) but tastes good. Writing this review just made me hungry! read more

I'm not sure why there are any bad reviews???? We go there at least four times a month. We've never had an experience where no one came to seat us, they are always right on it. The service is OUTSTANDING!!! Jimmy and the girls will make anything you want...I like their Tofu and Shrimp. We are always greeted with big smiles! The food is so good. We've never ordered anything we didn't enjoy. Maybe the negative comments were because those people judge them from one or two visits. We would recommend Wah Hing to everyone! And do...
