Kay's Teriyaki Plus is hands down one of the best spots in town if you're craving flavorful, high-quality Asian food with generous portions and fast service. Every time I've gone, the staff has been friendly, and the food always comes out hot and fresh. But let me talk about the honey walnut chicken--it's on another level. The chicken is perfectly crispy on the outside and tender inside, coated in a creamy honey glaze that strikes the perfect balance between sweet and savory. The candied walnuts add a rich crunch that takes it to the next level. It's not something you find everywhere, and Kay's nails it. I've had honey walnut chicken at a lot of places, and this is easily one of the best versions I've tried. Whether you're dining in, grabbing takeout, or ordering for lunch at work, you really can't go wrong here. Highly recommend giving Kay's a visit--and definitely try the honey walnut chicken. You won't regret it.

    Two lunch specials, inedible.

Two uneaten Teriyaki lunch specials are in the garbage in my husband's hospital room. I found Kay's online and was delighted with its proximity from Holy Family hospital. We used to enjoy Teriyaki chicken in Western Washington where it's easy to find a restaurant specializing in the dish. But with his appetite finally returning post-surgery, I was happy to satisfy his craving so off I went. The restaurant was cafeteria-like, worn tables & chairs, door open, no customers in sight and no employees. Still with their website on my screen, I found the business phone number and called it. A custom ring began chiming nearby and a lovely Asian woman of perhaps 70 appeared as I ended the call. There was kindness and mutual respect as I ordered the two meals, and found a seat to wait for the order while a young man mopped the floor. There was a language barrier with the lovely elder and in search of gently navigating I disregarded need of accuracy in the change given. It was close enough. I didn't open the meals until bringing them into the hospital room. There were no vegetables, no cucumber, nothing fresh or light to counter the savory components. The chicken was a strange consistency/bite and the Teriyaki sauce may well have served as disguise for less than fresh chicken. We tried a couple bites finding it rubbery, every taste making us question the quality and if the shelf life of the chicken had been exceeded. We realized it was a dead end. Such a small storefront would likely be disinclined to offer refund so we considered it a lesson learned and discarded in the hospital room trash. The woman was truly lovely, but this was a most unfortunate purchase.

The teriyaki was super good, walnut chicken too is a must try, they use really good sauces for their chicken

Apparently there are new owners and the food is not the same as it was. Undercooked and overpriced.

The food here is fantastic. My sashimi was fresh and beautiful, with big portions. My two friends I…read morewas with each got rolls and loved the portions and flavor-- we've gone to several sushi places in Spokane and this is our favorite for the deliciousness of everything we tried. So, as far as the basics of quality ingredients and crafted sushi/sashimi, Sushi Blossom is tops. The reason for only four stars is the service. It was busy (we were there at 6 pm on a Tuesday, so also a great nod to how good it is here that the place was bustling on a weeknight). But our service was really pretty poor. I have no desire to put a young lady working as a server on blast, so I'll just say we waited an extra-long time, and felt as a table like we were irritating or inconveniencing our server, though we ordered right away, had no adjustments to what we ordered, and just sat waiting a long time patiently. We didn't complain, and thanked our server when she brought our food. But if I'd been with someone who didn't already love Sushi Blossom and was my guest, this would have felt pretty embarrassing, like we were doing something wrong by being customers. However, that was just one young lady on one night out of LOTS of dining experiences at Sushi Blossom, most of which have been excellent. So we'll happily be back, and put this one experience behind us. The food, once again, is so, so good. If you're looking for great sushi in Spokane, this is a fantastic place to try!
