Came to this spring Golden Corral location during Thanksgiving. The line was really long and it seemed like the whole town didn't feel like cooking this year. In spite of that, it didn't take too long for us to be seated. Current dinner price is usually around $17.99, but since it was a special day, prices went up to $19.99 ( I didn't mind since it's an all you can eat buffet). It was a cold day but inside was nice and warm and so was the service. The interior wasn't flashy but everything looked clean. There was a great variety of food including: turkey, ham, steak, Hispanic, pizza, chicken, pies, cakes, etc. (it would take too long to list all the foods). Some of the foods you could tell were frozen (ex. some of the pies had a harder icy texture), but you have to remember it's a casual dining trying to serve hundreds of people per day at a fast pace. This isn't Fogo de Chão or anything fancy like that. Even though it was busier than usual, the staff did a great job overall keeping things moving and under control. All the dinner food we ate was hot, fresh, and tasty and we had no issues with any of the dishes that were served. It's nice to know that places like this are open during Thanksgiving, and it's even nicer when you can eat a whole week's worth of food in one sitting for only $20. Much cheaper and easier than buying and cooking all those ingredients yourself at home! Overall we had a great experience and would definitely come again

The food was so bad and rubbery!

Came here at 8 and sat down no server came to refill drink , food was cold !! , they did not offer a high chair , they cookers were mad , and they were putting the dishes in the back save ur money and go cook at home ! 56$ not worth it!!!!

Someone edited the sign at some point later in the day, but didn't clarify.

My family decided to try Thanksgiving at Golden Coral for the first time. We had checked the website, and called the day of to double check the hours for the day which was 7pm, which my family then decided to be there at 5:30pm. My family got there at 5:30pm and I was 10 minutes behind, they had texted me saying they were told they were closing at 6pm. When I showed up I saw this sign on the door, and the entrance had a yellow cone, but no sign saying what time they were closing. We walked in through the To Go entrance and we're immediately told (in a exacerbated tone) "We're closing in 20 minutes, are you To Go?" I mentioned we had family that was already there, and got in line behind two people in line. Not even one minute passed and the young lady talked over the people she was checking out at the counter "Are you sure you want to stay? We're closing in 20 minutes". At that point my husband and I decided to not even eat, as my brother who was already there eating was told they would not take the food away until it was gone. So I told the young lady we weren't eating and were just going to sit down with our family. We did not eat or drink, and my family was told after only being there 20 minutes that they were going to take the food off the buffet at 6:15pm. The waiter in the section came by not even 10 minutes later and asked if we could let him know when we'd be leaving. We were practically being rushed out, when they had changed the hours at some point in the day AFTER my brother had called to confirm they were closing at 7pm. My husband went to use the restroom and said someone had defecated on top of the toilet seat and had spread it around in the men's stall. It was sad how every employee running around were looking at us like we needed to get out ASAP. I would've asked to speak to a manager, but it seemed like nobody wanted to talk to anyone unless it was to say we should hurry it up and leave. When we got outside we stood around saying our goodbyes and we told 5 different families who were getting out of their cars that they had closed early. More than one of the families got upset and said they also thought they were not closing until 7pm. There was a sign at every table saying there was a time limit of sitting at the table. If the company wants to stay open and advertise a Thanksgiving meal, they should update the closing hours online and on the signage outside, and not give the incorrect time to people over the phone as well. I understand wanting to make sure every customer has a table to eat at by having an eating limit, but that should also be advertised on each individuals Facebook pages and when people call as well. Overall this was a horrible experience for me and my husband, who were there to eat a Thanksgiving meal with our family, but we're rudely unwelcomed and treated from beginning to end. It would've been nice to actually eat, but it might've been an even worse experience given a small window of time to eat and told the food, that was still plenty full was going to be taken away in just a few minutes. All you can eat was not all you can eat or enjoy with family on Thanksgiving.

    Empty tables

Out of 4 attempts at the "feeding trough", I sent 4 to the trash. The steak looked like it was from some hybrid animal and it was disgusting. I tried two of their "steaks." Gross and inedible. Fried chicken was raw. I told the server it was terrible food. No English. She got the manager. Do you think they would apologize or refund? Nope. She would " talk to the kitchen manager" and off she went. A colossal waste of a Memorial Day meal! And 20.00 for a ice milk cone is a bit too much to pay. Horrible!

Gloves are provided and required for you to go through the serving line.

I ate lunch at the restaurant located in Spring, TX near Louetta and Cypresswood roads. I visited during lunch on Friday, 11/6/20. Let's get the covid safety measures out of the way first. Masks are required. One way traffic through buffet line. Customer must wear a GLOVE provided by the restaurant before you can touch any serving handle. SEE PHOTO Plenty of workers stationed along the serving line to make sure that people are using the utensils with their gloved hand. Hand sanitizer stations located at various areas around the dining room and buffet line. Best items for me for this trip were the meatloaf, fried ravioli and the chicken and dumplings. They were awesome. The fried chicken and fried fish both lacked enough seasonings for me. Mac and cheese was okay. Medium busy crowd. Waitress was very attentive and kept my water glass full. Things like the chocolate fountain are gone. You must ask someone for help at the dessert counter if you want one of the marshmallow/strawberry skewers dipped in chocolate. Same thing for scoops of ice cream. All employees were wearing masks. All patrons were wearing masks to enter the store. Most, if not all, were also wearing their mask when they went back to the buffet line. Again, gloves are located everywhere along the line and are required before serving yourself.

Breakfast cost us about $10 less than when we go to other chain places. When you have the choice of hashbrowns or country potatoes, get the country potatoes. They're cheesy and delicious. My scrambled eggs were not overworked. I hate that. Fluffy and delicious just like the pancakes. The cooks know what they're doing and the wait staff is very nice. The only complaint that I can come up with is I'm not a big fan of added sugar to my pancakes. But I know people love their sweet stuff. We'll be back.

Updating my review!…read more My mom, husband, and I went this morning for breakfast and to start off the place wasn't as packed we found a booth pretty quick. It did take a while for anyone to attend us, I had to ask someone for menus and to take our drinks. My mom ordered the chicken fried steak and the waiter seemed a bit confused on what the menu said. My mom was confused too because on the menu it had two of the same name items with different prices. Anyway he took her order and he put in for the " country fried steak" as he called it and she also asked for the gravy on the side. My husband and I ordered waffles combo plates and my husband asked for a side of bacon. When the food arrived the gravy was on my mom's food when she asked for it on the side and she asked to get it replaced. She got it back and once she started cutting it it's was actually chicken fried chicken. She didn't want to ask to take it back so she just ate it. The good thing is she said her meal was delicious even though she didn't get exactly what she wanted. She also very much enjoyed the coffee. When it came to my mine and my husbands meal the sausage on his plate looked pale as if it was left on the grilled for one minute each side so we asked if it could be slightly more cooked and we're super grateful that the waiter took it back and brought crisper sausage linked on our plate. Now the only other disappointment from my husband's meal is that he never got his extra bacon instead he was brought extra sausage links. We didn't want to send it back either so we just kept it and he ate that. Overall all the food was amazing just wish everything was given to us the way we ordered it in the beginning. I would still go back and eat there.

Actually, they have a good size menu and have some American options along with juices and smoothies so It made ordering easy. They also have a full bar with several cocktails and mocktails. Inside right when you enter is the actual bar with about 6 seats which were full with customers during my entire visit. Their happy hour ends at 6pm, but I arrived at 7pm so I ended up missing the discounted drinks. I ordered the cod and shrimp pita which ended up being slightly different than the regular gyro. I had to set it down after a couple of bites since the wheat pita bread is much thinner than regular pita bread and it kept falling apart on me. I also added a mango mojito. With a name like Island Grill, I sort of expected to see more tropical drinks or rum-based cocktails show up on the menu, but this was about the only one. Overall, my experience was okay, but I don't know if it was good enough for me to return.

Our waiter was excellent and gave solid recommendations. I ordered the blueberry margarita and it was sooo good--sweet, refreshing, and definitely a win. Our waiter suggested the smokehouse platter to share, and we added an order of truffle fries. Let me just say... those truffle fries were AMAZING. Thick-cut, crispy, and full of flavor--hands down the best thing on the table. The smokehouse platter was more than enough food for two people. The brisket sliders were tender and flavorful, the wings were great, the pickled peppers were a nice touch, and the ribs were finger-licking good. The only downside was the potato skins--they were just meh compared to everything else. Overall, great food, great service, and a really nice atmosphere. A while later, a different server/bartender asked if you want drinks we requested a coffee again. We had to request various items multiple times from multiple people before they were actually brought over to us. No big deal, we weren't in any particular rush, but have you ever gotten that feeling like you're bothering the server every time you ask for something? That was that feeling. I was still eating when we were handed our check. We paid. We were planning on staying for mimosas after eating, so we asked for 2 mimosas we were handed our drinks with a check. Again, the place was not busy, to the extent that the staff was hanging out and talking in a group. (That doesn't bother me, we all deserve some adult conversation.) We felt in the way so we paid and decided to go elsewhere for some mimosas. FOOD: I had the waffle with a side of bacon. Waffle was served warm, crisp & soft as a waffle should be. It was nice and thick and a great size, plus it was delicious! I couldn't finish it, I was soo full! The pecan butter was scrumptious and the berries were fresh and sweet. Both in great proportion to the waffle. The bacon was crispy and served warm. Overall a delicious and plentiful breakfast. CLEANLINESS: The place was clean, clean.
