The quality has been consistent over the years. I've been able to try new items as they expanded their menu over the years. I don't know anything on the menu that isn't good. Personally I prefer their chicken strips over Cane's. They are consistently juicer and mor plump. And if you like onion rings, their onion rings are hand made from scratch. Simply the best. The honey mustard is homemade with their recipe. I love it. If you like honey mustard it is much better than other restaurant's packaged stuff. If Cane's sauce is more of your taste, try the Rock sauce. It was designed to be similar, but with a KaRock's twist. It is very good on shrimp or other seafood. To get the best quality, lunch time is the best time to visit. Dinner time is slower, but the top cooks work the day shift for their busy times. Plus you are more likely to meet Rocky, the owner, during the day. Rocky is what makes this place. His friendly demeanor and welcoming attitude is sure to make you feel better. The overall staff is the same way. This is a family owned and run restaurant, and they make you feel like part of the family. I recommend anyone to stop by and try them. There is something you will find to your liking. From chicken strips, to wraps, salads, catfish, shrimp, even oysters, you will find a favorite or two. Maybe it will become a regular place for lunch even. Stop by and give them a chance.

This is history in the making as my first ever restaurant review was at an Alabama Jack's when I…read morewas a little kid. They had feedback cards in those days and my feedback review was that, "Jack's is the WORST restaurant I've EVER eaten at!" I got in an adventurous mood decided to see if this recently opened Jack's had improved since the MANY years since I had last eaten at the last one. So the exterior and interior looked significantly better than any of the Jack's I've seen in Alabama. I ordered the "Big Jack" burger and told them, "absolutely no ketchup as I HATE and DESPISE ketchup!" So I was in a hurry and grabbed my food and left. When I arrived at my destination and opened the burger to eat it I very quickly discovered that this Big Jack was DRENCHED in ketchup and they left off the lettuce, tomato and cheese! The meat looked absolutely horrible while the bun looked much improved than the past example I had seen years ago. I hoped at least I could eat some French fries to at least calm my hunger down but after trying two of them I found them disgusting as they didn't seem fully cooked. So Jack's was and is the WORST restaurant I've ever eaten at!

I'm not sure where to begin with this review, because we very much wanted to enjoy this restaurant,…read morebut it was not a very good experience in any sense. We were in Hattiesburg for the night and found Murky Waters through their website, which indicated through their menu, photos, prices, and their suggestion that reservations should be made that this was elevated southern barbecue. It is not. Which is fine, if that's what you're serving and charging for. But here's what we got: "Smoked ahi tuna dip" = canned tuna salad ($12.95, served with Keebler Club crackers) Ham & cheese po' boy- it was just a ham and cheese sandwich on a long roll, and the roll was cold ($13.95) My son liked the brisket, but said the Mac & cheese was not good. My family got refills on their drinks, but my drink came in a smaller glass and I didn't get a refill. We all got soda, so I'm not sure why. The restaurant is pleasant, but we were seated directly in front of the window unit air conditioner so we had to decide which one of us would be the most uncomfortable while eating. The bill was over $100. After discussing it, we all felt that we would have felt better about the entire thing if the food had been more fairly represented and priced. If you go, don't order the tuna.
