We were headed to an event in the park and i decided to stop and grab some food from here, I mean you can't go wrong with chicken, right? Wrong . . . You definitely can especially when you decide to get fancy and not order chicken. So it's a Thursday evening and we go through the drive thru and order wings and the seafood box with the fish and shrimp with Mac and cheese and a drink. We make it to the window and I pay almost $25 and then the lady says "can you pull up as we have to fry your fish" - okay, hot fish, I won't complain. I pull up and wait almost 10 minutes and no one has come to bring my food to me. So I decide let me go in. Thankfully I have my receipt (always get a receipt!) and I go to the counter and tell the lady I've been waiting on my food and she takes my receipt and disappears. I wait another 5 minutes and I'm like "hey, I've been waiting 15 minutes for my food, I have an event to go to can I please get my food" - the other lady comes to the counter and says did you get any of your order? I got my drink I tell her and she turns away. Then she comes back and puts two poxes in a bag, pushes the bag in my direction and walks away. I stop to look in the box and what I have waited for over 15 min is two of the smallest pieces of fish and three greasy shrimps for almost $13 - I call a lady over and ask her is this right? And she's like "yes, we don't cut the fish it comes to us like that" - I once again say this seems so small and she just looks at me. I ask for napkins, a fork, some cocktail sauce and she turns to get the cocktail sauce and says everything else is on the counter for me to grab myself - however if I came through the drive thru and you was bringing me my food would I be expected to grab it myself. I tell her that it's disappointing and her response was do you want me to remake the order? Well as I have AN EVENT to be at, I don't have time for that, so no. However I do mention to her that I've been more than patient in waiting for my food, I came into the establishment to retrieve my food as it was evident that no one was bringing it out to me, and that their customer service is lacking especially from the lady who pushed my food towards me. I once again had to ask for my receipt and I left the establishment. Got to my event and the wings were dusted in their wicked sauce and apparently the lady is heavy handed because it was entirely too much. At one time they gave packets for you to dust your own wings so that was my fault but still it was too much and therefore the wings got tossed. Will I be back? Not likely because this makes no sense - I was late for my event, the food was mediocre and not worth the value, the people working aren't helpful and I just felt like it threw my money away. read more

I would NEVER go back to this Golden Chick. Yesterday I went there by 10:30 pm and they informed me that they were closed even though they had a sign on the door that they close at 11 pm. Then I came back the next day and got the 6 piece zesty wings. I should have known from the box which had grease stains on the inside and outside that the chicken was gonna be trash but I was hungry so I ate it anyway. 5 minutes after eating I felt a something on my tongue. Omfg nooo, this Golden Chick was a major disappointment. The fam and I came to dine in before a concert and all I can say is, wow (and not in a good way). We ordered chicken tenders with corn nuggets. Staff there were not the most pleasant or polite, but we were hungry and just wanted our food, so just kind of brushed off the interaction. The place didn't look like it had been well taken care of during that shift. There was scraps and trash on tables as well as tons of crumbs and what not all over the floor. C'mon guys, one person could clean this dining area up so quick. Toss trash, wipe tables and sweep the floor, I've done these things myself at a previous job, takes maybe 5-7 mins, and makes such a difference. I could understand if it was slammed and all your people were tied up, but this wasn't the case at the time. Only one other person was dining in when we were there, and the drive through wasn't busy either. We get our food. First thing I notice, smashed up rolls. This is a pet peeve of mine!! Grr! It wasn't as bad as another place we've been to, but still worth mentioning. Everything else was fine. Crispy, crunchy tenders, hot gravy and delicious, golden corn nuggets. Alas, this was the end of the positivity during our visit. One thing we all enjoy about dining it at Golden Chick is free ice cream, because seriously, who doesn't get happy about that? My family decided to go to the Children's Aquarium at Fair Park and were looking for a quick but filling bite before we went in so we stopped here. At first glance, I thought this place was similar to Chik-Fil-A but It's actually more like KFC but much better. We ordered 4 meals. The 3pc chicken with mash and a bun, Spicy wings with fries and a bun and 2 kids meals (Chicken tenders, fries & a cookie). All with drinks. In total we spent about $27 which I thought was real bargain. The chicken meat was tender, cooked just right and had a real good flavor.
