We waited for quite a while for 2 lukewarm combo meals although there was several staff. Poor taste and quality of food, over cooked chicken and heavy seasoning so it wasn't edible. The location appeared clean but staff seemed over whelmed with no customers waiting after us. For the time we waited, would expect better food quality. The line was long because they were about to close and they were able to take all orders in a good amount of time. The cashier was very knowledgeable and accurate. The food! Cold and dry. The pieces were small, almost like the strips were cut in half, but maybe the size was due to drying out. At one time this was a good place to go to. The food was not necessarily hot but at least it wasn't dry, hard and stringy. Even the French fries were cold and hard. Not sure if they are short handed on workers or what. At one time you had to wait in line to place your order...both inside and the drive through. I guess the nonexisting line should have been my clue not to bother stopping. The young man taking the order was very professional, polite and efficient. I seldom go inside so I can not really say anything about the ambiance. What I can see it is clean. I came here a few months ago and ordered jalapeño poppers (which are a whole extra $1) and they were burnt. However, this morning I--along with my brother and two other friends--came into the drive thru at exactly 12:45AM (this location closes at 1:00AM) and the lady told us they were closed. Now, I have worked fast food and it does suck when customers come in close to close (especially when it's a rush), but we were the only customers and I have never heard of anyone telling customers they were closed a whole 15 minutes before closing time. Yes, albeit I have had to tell customers we were closed 5 minutes before (per my managers' instructions), but NEVER an entire 15 minutes before. Especially when the food is already premade and all they have to do is add some seasoning and sauce and stick it in the bag. This is completely unprofessional and they need new management. The staff here is beyond unprofessional. It seems as though they make an extra effort just to ruin your experiences at their store and prevent you from coming back. They've snatched defeat from the jaws of victory just about every time I've visited, which is why I will no longer go there. I have too many options in the area to tolerate this sort of behavior. There is no kind of accountability or responsible leadership at this location. None. I once saw a manager hanging out of the window arguing with someone in front of me, and no one really cared to stop and carry on with their day. The corporate office/parent company is good at responding to negative Yelp reviews with insincere apologies, but has yet to make any changes that actually matter in their stores. I visited this location on Friday night. Mind you all of the other chicken places, Popeyes, Williams had long lines. There was no one in the drive thru here. I went there. The chicken strips we ordered were pretty good. However, when we got the bags there was an odor. I know a lot of times they don't fully cook the rolls. I get home and didn't realize until after I ate it that the dinner rolls were green at the bottom. They should be ashamed of themselves making people pay for this crap. Decided to go to Golden Chick today for the first time ever but unfortunately it will be my last time coming here. Starting off the lady taking orders through the drive thru was extremely rude with a very bad attitude. When we received our food the buns were crush like someone had punched them. The chicken was extremely bland and the batter was uncooked. The chicken was only good with ketchup and the shrimp is the only decent thing about this place but overall bad experience. It's not easy to find fried catfish at a fast food place, and theirs is solid. It's not cheap, but they don't make it till you get there, so be prepared to wait a few. My kid says the chicken strips are good, and the French fries are super awesome! I wish they would give me the recipe. This store must treat their employees well, because they are always friendly and helpful. When I say always, I mean always. I have never had a bad experience here. Twice in the same week, the Golden Chick on Camp Wisdom at Westmoreland has disappointed me. Four days ago I ordered delivery and received only half of the chicken I ordered & paid for. Yesterday, In the drive-thru I ordered a family meal of mixed chicken, paid at the first window, and at the second window I was told to pull ahead because the roasted chicken had eight (8) more minutes to cook. Twenty (20) minutes later the employee brought the meal to my car and said that they were out of breasts and substituted the wings with thighs and legs. I sent it back and asked for a refund, nearly 6 minutes later I had the return receipt in hand. With driving time, time in the drive-thru, time waiting for the food, and the refund, I wasted about one (1) hour of my time and left with nothing. read more

The initial visits in the drive through resulted in a long wait, several times being asked to pull around and wait for my order, however I really didn't mind as the fish was worth the wait. M My recent visit on 11/14 greatly changed my mind. I ordered 2 entrees: 3 pc fish w/fries AND 2 pc chicken only (WING and leg). And of course, I had to try the funnel cake everyone is raving about. My drive home usually takes 10-12 minutes. I generally enjoy the drive while munching on the tasty HOT fries. Upon arriving home, I put the entire bag in the trash!!!! I am not sure what went wrong! The fish was not fresh and the fries were cold from the beginning! The chicken (THIGH and leg) was OLD and discolored! I debated on calling, then determined it would be a waste of time, as you never know who you are speaking with, nor if the feedback is even received. I do "thank" Golden Chick for this experience, as it just reiterated what I already know. Fast food is NOT good for us at all, but I considered it to be my once a month cheat food! Not any more! The place just opened up and I'm probably their first customer how is it possible for someone to be this rude already ??? This is the first Golden Chick I ever went to and I loved it! We did run into a few sketchy people outside of their restaurant but other than that, the inside of the restaurant is much better.
