This is a new location. Honestly, I've never ate at any locations. Some co-workers and I got lunch from here. I got friend wing and leg with fries. It was a nice change from my usual spots. Someone did get the grilled chicken and thoroughly enjoyed it. She said it was seasoned throughout. read more

I found out about this place on social media, and it was worth it. This restaurant has the best fried chicken sandwich on the market, hands down! The flavor and juiciness put it well below the more established fast food chains. The plantains are also great. read more

100%recommend this place, I had the best service here. All employees were so nice & sweet to me. Even though I order a take out they were so helpful in everything. And obviously food is amazing! read more

The inside is clean and inviting, and the staff are friendly, so the service is good. The food is just okay at best though. I got the fried nuggets which were juicy, but the crunch was meh. The grilled chicken was also pretty juicy, but seasoning wasn't that impressive and the skin didn't have much crisp, felt a little stale. This might be a decent place for a stop on a long road trip at a rest area, but there's too many better options around to come back here. read more

Terrible time at this location .We recently returned from Guatemala and I was excited to see a Pollo Campero here in the DFW area. Our chicken sandwich and Camperitos were cold and tasted old. The flavor was nothing like the restaurant in Guatemala that I was expecting. My bun in my sandwich was burnt. How they burnt the bun but the chicken was cold I didn't understand. Service was fast but they just kept telling us they were out of everything we tried to order. So that's why we settled for the sandwich and some nuggets. I did ask when they would have the items back and was informed "Oh we have them now but we don't want to cook any." It was about 5:15 pm so dinner time. I don't recommend going here. read more

tried buying for delivery and my order never arrived. Waited more than 2 hours and they finally marked it as delivered but i never got it

They NEVER have the grilled chicken. I've been told the machine isn't working. I've been told they are out. I have literally stopped 5x on Sundays over the last 6mo and they NEVER have it!! Sooo annoying. One Sunday we drove to the one in Irving just to get the grilled chicken! I even called corporate on them! They were like... that's weird?! They should have it... sigh... Major false advertising. read more

This place was awesome quick and super friendly Lucia bravo was so nice make sure you guys come check them out food was delicious

I hate there have been a lot of negative reviews here! This is one of the most consistent fast food spots in the area. I'm back on my health kick and the fact they have a decent selection to keep this waist right is a huge plus in my book! My usual order: Grilled chicken- side salad and corn salad. Beans or rice when I can bulk up on the calories. The corn salad can be a hit or miss. Salad is fresh EACH and every time which is very rare for fast food spots. I've had causal restaurants who didn't deliver with salad freshness. Major kudos to this location. The beans are flavorful and the rice is your typical rice. Now onto the citrus grilled chicken! The birds are seasoned quite well and if you're looking for the juicier picks....select the dark meat (duh!) I love how it has an authentic on the grill taste. Grilled chicken, healthy sides, and a good price point in THIS economy is a place that's alright with me. read more

Being lazy yesterday I ventured to this fine establishment for grilled chicken. Here's what happened... Hit the drive thru peeped out the menu... Nothing fancy a few sapphire menu items that peaked my interest. I ordered the half chicken grilled with Plantains and Campero rice, tortillas and a horchata. $13 bucks later... Ummm well I received fried instead of grilled... no sour cream with my Plantains ( as advertised and I requested salsa for the chicken I received ketchup. Listening skills: F Quality of food: A... but I bet that grilled chicken tasted better. The chicken has great flavor though. Pricing: OVER PRICED... period. It was good, but their lack of listening put a damper on my experience. read more

Great service. Chicken tasted fresh. I'm not normally a fan of spicy so I just got the regular nuggets but they still had a little kick to them which was perfect. Fries were skinny which is what I prefer so I thought they were great too. Roll very fresh. Mac n cheese was good. Would go back again. Service was quick and friendly in the drive thru. read more

My first visit and I was not impressed. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich with fries. The bun was smashed and soggy. I think it was supposed to be buttered and toasted but they forgot to toast it. You have to add the condiments yourself from little packets. The chicken patty was dry but at least it was crispy. The fries were plentiful but limp. The meals looked better so if I go back, it will be a two piece for me. read more

Got excited to see pollo asado place fast food style. The grilled chicken has great taste. However, definitely overpriced for the amount of food they give. Tortillas were cracked and the meal was really missing a salsa. Staff was very kind and prompt. read more

No camperitos!! No chicken breasts!! No sandwiches!! Half the employees are in the lobby eating when nothing is available?? That's Terrible management! It's 630pm on a Saturday and this place has nothing available! They aren't even that busy! What a huge disappointment!! Why even be open if you don't have over half your menu available??? Sad....we would have spent so much more money here! read more

I always like to try new fast food places out that we don't have in Austin, and I happened upon this place near out hotel. Pollo Campero serves up some tasty fried chicken (that's their specialty not grilled). I have no idea what they use to marinate the bird, but it sure is good stuff, maybe citrus? It's extra crispy style, chicken was moist, high quality. Street corn side was excellent. Overall, if you're in the mood for fried, I recommend checking this place out, at least this location. read more

Quick and dirty, 'cuz you're probably on the outskirts of Dallas at that I-30 intersection and you're trying to decide between the Chili's, Del Taco, Taco Bell....and hello, who are you, Pollo Campero? Pollo Campero is a "Mexican" fast food chicken place. The batter has chili powder in it, and they have a salsa bar(!). You can choose between a dinner roll and tortillas, and a variety of sides uncommon to it's competitors ie., plantains; yucca fries...neither of which I tried, since I did not notice in a timely manner. I also failed to realize that they served horchata(!!) here too before I placed my order of chicken strips, fries, and corn tortillas. Service was good for a fast food place; someone checked on us a couple times. Costs about the same as Chicken E, but this place has tacos 'n burritos 'n sh**. Perfect place to stop after driving through that Netherworld between Arlington and Dallas. read more

Nice selection between fried or broiled chicken. I chose 2pc (leg and thigh) dark broiled, with a side of beans, and 2 tortillas. Beans and tortillas were delicious. I liked the flavor of the chicken, but it was a scrawny chicken with little meat to be had. This combo came with a drink. I don't do high fructose corn syrup so my only option was the machine dispensed "Gold Peak" unsweetened tea. It was gross- I dumped the whole thing in the trash. Small salsa bar but good salsa. In summation, they need to seriously up their game. Pollo Reggio has much larger chicken pieces- as does about anyone else. Get some real brewed iced tea in there. A few more options on the salsa bar (see Taco Cabana). As it was, I went across the street to get more chicken at KFC. read more

A fast food restaurant getting a five star rating no I'm not grading anybody easily. I typically would go here once a month to have a little taste of South America not Mexican food but truly, a menu from the south. They've added to their menu a baked chicken three pieces of white meat for $7.99 down to a two piece in the five dollars range. This new chicken is spicy moist delicious. The spices are not overpowering but that rich flavor profile that you can only find in refined foods, typically found at that $13-$15 range. And don't forget the fried bananas which if you haven't had him before are a sweet gooey yummy Nes typically found at that $13-$15 range. The service is always very swift, friendly, and they double check each other to ensure that when you use the drive-through you leave with what you're supposed to. When you go in the restaurant it is clean smells fresh and people clearly maintain after the customers. When using the drive-through you don't have to ask for extra napkins they actually ensure that you have everything you need to enjoy your meal. I almost forgot the wonderful jicama fries. Great chicken always and I got a side salad the last time I ordered. As funny as it sounds to review a fast food restaurant's salad, it was so good that I am taking the time to actually write a review about it! Delicious!! Pollo Campero uses field greens, pepitas, ripe cherry tomatoes and crumbled feta and I'm declaring it the best salad at any fast food restaurant I have ever eaten at. Probably not the most helpful review for some, but if you need something keto or just something a little healthier than burgers or chicken fingers, get yourself some chicken and a salad from Pollo Campero. You won't regret it. read more

This is were I go for my Latin Caribbean quick foodie fix. The Black Beans and Campero Rice combined have become a comforting homefood dish for me. You can't find either in Belize (red beans and white rice), but they still taste like home. My daughter (the carnivore :-) very much likes the chicken; both fried (light, crisp coating) and grilled. The cole slaw has too much mayo for her and me, but the fried ripe plantains are great. The fried yucca is excellent, always piping hot; perfect from crunchy outside to soft center! I've only used the drive-thru service so I can't review counter service or interior experience; but, the drive-thru is always fast with friendly servers. read more

Delicious fast food chicken. I tried their fried and baked one and enjoyed them both. They were falling off the bone while still really moist. Their mashed potatoes weren't that good. I wouldn't go for them again. They give you corn tortilla which i didn't care for. The chicken is where it's at though! read more

The staff was friendly, attentive and nice. The manager came out to greet me. It appeared they were closing down for the night but there were still customers in the store, the menu is a bit pricey but the food looks well prepared. They have a mini salad bar. Well, salsa bar I meant. The ladies restroom wasn't clean. Not good. I ordered a Horchata drink. It was very flavorful. The main dish of this restaurant is fried chicken. They had tons of it already prepared. The chicken was wonderfully prepared and very good. Although a tad bit salty. But it was quite delicious. read more

Pollo Campero - Chicken shit - Fast Food Near Me - Dallas, Texas

this place has always been a hit or miss for me. the first time i ordered pollo asado con puré de papa y frijoles and it was perfect. then the other times i ordered, it the chicken either came undercooked or the wrong type of chicken. there was one time where i ordered and forgot to tell what type of chicken i wanted and when i saw it was fried, i went back to ask if i could change it out and the worker said i ordered it fried when in reality i never said what type i wanted. which is a miscommunication on my end. when i got the correct order back, they gave me the 2 smallest pieces of chicken which is kinda crazy but like i wasnt even mad initially it was a small mistake but the way it was responded to threw me back a little cuz i was just asking if they could switch it. besides that this place is still good. pollo campero is the only fast food place i actually like so i'll put up with anything from them idc it still hits read more

Went through the drive-thru on my lunch break so I was pressed for time. I got to the window to order grilled chicken but their was broken so they only had fried Chicken . There was no sign on the order menu indicating that there was no grilled chicken. Great fast food. Especially like the grilled chicken sandwich. Better than Chick fil a (tho fried chicken sandwich still rules at CFA). My mom and I went there tonight to eat inside and they use real plates instead of paper and clean up after you. Pretty fancy for fast food! read more

I'm a carnivore, and as such I devour all meat. ALL MEAT--be it red, white or gray (don't laugh, we've all had the gray). But, I do usually prefer the reds. NOT ANYMORE--Pollo Campero has made me a believer in the deliciousness of the white meat. I had the fried breast and it was so freaking good that I'm thinking about having it again tonight. It made original recipe and extra crispy CRY in shame. I'm not sure it's just chili powder in the batter, but whatever it is they can keep it coming because it is delicious. The black beans and rice were also a nice change along with the soft moist corn tortillas. And for dessert, because there has to be dessert, I had the plantains. They taste very grilled. There were a lot of things on the menu I wished to eat, but my tummy is only so big. I will go back for empanadas, tacos and the chicken chipolte tortilla soup. AND, the service was great. Super friendly drive thru. read more

I always pass by the Pollo Campero billboards on my way to school and end up swerving a bit on I-30 because I'm squinting my eyes to see the tasty ad. I couldn't take anymore teasing yesterday and decided to fulfill my needs so instead of heading towards class I exited and pulled up to their drive thru. The chicken on their menu looks REALLY good but I didn't want to roll up to class full and fall asleep (not to mention late) so I opted for one chicken crisp (they looked like little egg rolls for $.99), a grilled chicken wrap ($1.99), and a regular sized horchata ($1.69). I had to wait for a good 5 minutes for my food but I didn't mind because I was hoping everything was prepared fresh. Everything came out correctly and wow did this end up being a lot of food! My wrap was huge (about 2x the size of McDonald's' wraps) and stuffed with rice, pico di gallo and marinated grilled chicken with a hint of extra lime sprinkled over. It was yummy in my tummy kind of goodness. My chicken crisper was FREAKIN huge, I wanted to take a picture of me holding it against my face so you guys can see the comparison but I had to drive (boo). It had semi-spicy marinated chicken and different types of melted cheese in this fried tortilla and came with a side of cilantro ranch. This was definitely lacking some chicken but for only 99 cents I wasn't going to complain! I washed everything down with my cold and sweet horchata. I may have been late to class but my tummy and I were as happy as can be (I did end up falling asleep in my second class though!). Cheers to my food adventures being on top of my education on the priority ladder! read more

Food is pretty decent. My only complaint is make sure they hear you clearly on specifications regarding your order. For example, I asked for no cheese and corn tortillas on my chicken tacos. I get flour tortillas with cheese on my chicken tacos. After checking my food while in the drive thru, I told the cashier to correct it and she told me to pull around front. It took about 12 minutes to get through drive through and wait for my corrected food. I would have enjoyed the chicken tacos more if they had got it right. Even after they corrected my tacos, I got chicken tacos, no cheese in flour tortillas but I was in a rush and too tired for the back and forth/waiting game with the cashier lady who brought my food out to me. Plus, she had rushed off by the time I popped open the container to see if they got my order right. The empanadas were interesting, not in a good way. They didn't taste terrible but I wasn't ready for the "mushy/creamy" texture of the chicken empanada. Taste-wise it was good but first bite, the creaminess threw me off. I used the check-in offer which is 1 free chicken thigh. It was good until I got past the skin. The chicken by itself was rather bland but tasted better with the sweet chipotle dipping sauce. I literally used the sweet chipotle dipping sauce on everything I ordered: the chicken tacos, the Campero rice side, the empanada and my chicken. The sprite tasted more like a flat 7-Up. If I am ever in the Cockrell Hill Road/IH-30 area, I will stick to KFC right across the street. I won't say I will never come back but this definitely won't make a blip on my fast food radar. read more

First tasted the chicken here at the Yelp Holiday Affair event and it was so delicious. Came around 2 pm which appeared to be prime lunch time. We waited around 15 min for our food. I got two pieces of breast and a side of rice. My friend got 4 pieces, beans and rice. He rated his meal a 3.5/5. The outside of the chicken was so flavorful but I just wasn't as impressed with the chicken at the restaurant as I was at the Yelp event. read more

This is a different swing on fried chicken. As the names says it is a Mexican swing. The menus are in English but the rest of the place is Mexican. The chicken is good not very crispy but that is ok. And they serve you bowl a of beans and torts with the order. You can get fries. I like the change it was fun. read more

The food is great, BUT the service may be EVEN BETTER. EXAMPLE: Two of us ordered food and sat down. My friend's food came out first and he began eating. The gentleman who seems to manage or own this location noticed this and brought me two complimentary chicken legs and said "Your food will be out shortly, but I wanted you to be able to eat with your friend." That was an awesome and unnecessary gesture. I wasn't frustrated at all, nor did my food take long to come out. He just seems to really focus on taking care of his customers and goes the extra mile. read more

Pollo Campero is a chain restaurant from Guatemala in Central America. The recipe is a family secret, which makes the fried chicken so so so good! I have actually tried one of everything on the menu. Great fast food place for something different. It's Latin-themed chicken and sides for the most part, mostly from Guatemala. Most of their menu is centered around fried chicken which is lightly breaded and seasoned. It actually left me wanting more flavor. Next time I'll try their grilled chicken or their assortment of various tacos because the salsa bar looks great. I had the campera beans and they have black beans and rice and many other sides to choose from such as fried plantain and yucca. read more
