I used to come here as a child with my family and have not been here in years. I moved out of state and have not come to this place again in years and recently just came again while visiting family members in the area. I have to say that I missed the sandwiches here. The chicken shawarma is great and the garlic sauce is delicious.. It's not exactly how I remember it as a child, but my memory could be romanticizing what I used to eat as a child more than anything. I will say that the shwarma is better than anything that I have had in Texas especially the garlic sauce. That garlic sauce...its so delicious! I thought that zaatar and cheese bread so nice as well, straight out of the oven. I'm hoping to come again soon!

For many, many years cheese bread from Golden Bakery has been the only reason why I come here. But overtime, their cheese bread's quality has declined. The bread used to be hot, fresh, soft, fluffy, and light. Now the bread feels heavier and the outer half is always tougher and chewier (like I am chewing on old gum). Another thing that I believe Golden Bakery should improve on is their to go boxes used for hot foods. The box is poor quality and quickly creates a storage environment that works against the cheese bread's thot temperature. The box absorbs all the heat, becomes flimsy from all the moisture, and it cools the cheese bread instead of keeping it hot and fresh. Golden Bakery needs to go back to how the cheese bread once was.

    The best cheese bread around!!

Absolutely love Golden. Their food is always fresh, and the quality is top notch. I live pretty far away, but the drive is worth it for their baked goods (especially their cheese bread which I pictured!) Their cheese bread is mouthwatering. Thick layer of melted cheese on a big piece of bread. My favorite treat :) I have tried a few other bakeries around Dearborn, and I have to say Golden remains my favorite. On top of everything, their staff is always friendly and efficient!

Out Supporting that's what I do how about you. Been twice in last month enjoying the great food and reasonable prices. Monday special absolutely Wonderful Deal for 5 bucks gets you a Shawarma Fries n Drink really great deal. Got a couple Mixed Beef n Chicken Shawarma fantastic. First visit a few Flatbread Pizza and Meat with Cheese. Super selection of Desserts a buck each see my photos. The addiction be the large Shawarma plate about 2 pounds of Meat sliced off the spit. Both times got the mixed Beef n Chicken comes with Pickles Beers Onions Toum n Tahini Sauce WOWED. This Meat tray could make 8 plus Shawarma. The package of Bread only a buck fifty each. Spotless clean restrooms and fast friendly service has made us new customers. Place open 31 year's and 2nd location on Fort road in Dearborn heights.

Zaater bread (I don't know if it has a fancier name)

Zaater bread from the brick oven with hummus- my latest obsession. I drive past at least a half dozen Arab bakeries to get to this one. This bread is everything it wants to be! Yummm! Everything I've had tastes better than it looks. The cheesy round breads, the hummus, the stuffed grape leaves. They're all fresh and delicious. Minus one star for the freshness of their salads & gyros. I was there one late night and came back the next midday. The same salad was still there as well as some of the baked goods. The baked goods are acceptable but the gyro meat wasn't moving so it was just sitting there drying out. Ew. This zaater bread keeps me coming back though. They're also open long hours.

I truly love this place! Golden Bakery is the real deal we pulled up 5:30 am just drove up from Chicago, and it's open hell yea! When I tell you right out the oven fresh cheese pie can't get no better then that! The food is delicious! I say real deal because it reminded me of Lebanon when I visited. Had exactly the same flavors and texture it was crazy on point...I will def make a must stop here every time we come to Detroit. Very convenient Wide variety of Middle Eastern food and sweets. Very friendly and quality fresh food. 100% recommend!

Cheese and meat manoosheh and chicken shawarma sandwich. Cheese manoosheh is on such thick bread.

I got into Dearborn and I immediately wanted mnaeesh since it's known for being a Lebanese town. We got to Golden Bakery at 6pm and knew nothing would be fresh since it is usually made in the morning but I didn't care because I was so excited. We ordered a cheese and meat manoosheh and a chicken shawarma sandwich. The cheese was on such a thick bread which I guess is the style here. I prefer my manoosheh on thin bread but their meat one was flavorful and on thin bread so it had a great crunch. The chicken shawarma sandwich was great and had a lot of garlic which of course is delicious. Wish I can come back in the morning though so I can have them make me a fresh and personalized manoosheh

An absolute treat to visit and pick out a great dessert to purchase (or multiple!)…read more After having lunch nearby, we saw many people walking by with boxes from Dearborn Sweets so we decided to stop in after. We were greeted with a large display case of many different options of sweet treats, cakes, pie-like items, and many more things! My friend and I picked 6 things total and it was around $18 only! We were very surprised of how cheap but highly delicious these items were!

While in Dearborn this past weekend, I received a tip from the owner of a local restaurant to try…read more"the best middle eastern bakery in all of Dearborn". That brought me to Dearborn Sweets. I haven't tried any other bakeries in Dearborn, but I can tell you that my experience here was fantastic. Customer service and friendliness were beyond excellent; but be sure to pack your patience at peak times because this spot was slammed. You take a number when you walk in, and then wait, and wait, and wait for it to be your turn. This isn't for lack of staff, because there were at least a dozen people working behind the counter, it's just because they were packed with customers! The selections are overwhelming and since it was my first visit, I needed help. The young lady who helped me was very patient, told me about the differences in their specialized Arabic pastries, showed me her favorites, customer favorites, and descriptions for anything I asked about. I went with a small sampler tray of her favorite specialized pastries and their best sellers. Everything was delicious! Flavors, textures, uniqueness, complexity...all of it. My whole family raved about all the treats, so we ended up going back later in the weekend and purchasing a couple larger trays of our favorites (and some new selections) to take home and share. We all agreed that the Qatayef was easily our favorite; for anyone who doesn't know, it is a small pancake filled with custard, fresh chopped strawberries, chopped pistachios, and drizzled with chocolate...fresh, bright, and mouthwateringly delicious. The only negative I experienced was that when I visited around 10am on Sunday to load up for our trip home, their selections were very limited, and I was told I'd need to come back after 3pm to get some of the things I was looking for. So, I would recommend calling ahead to see if they have a full selection before you go, if you don't live nearby. Ultimately, if you haven't tried Dearborn Sweets, I'd highly recommend giving them a shot. They have tons of middle eastern specialties as well as traditional bakery favorites (such as cannoli, fruit tarts, filled donuts, cakes, etc.).
