Surprisingly, I didn't get an answering machine, I got a live person that was attentive and very professional. I got Calvin and I was sold. We made the appointment for the same day and lets just say that he has "earned" a lifelong customer. In fact, this review is the pre-cursor to the verbal and written notice of severance of service that I am going to give to my (soon to be previous) pest control company. Now, let me tell you about my service experience. At the appointed time, Calvin and his crew arrived and they are a handsome bunch so I now had excellent service and eye candy to add to the collection of professional experiences. Moving on, Calvin's team blew and inspected my garage so it was sparkling clean AND treated for pests. They used sustainable bug repellent outside my home, which smelled really good in the autumn wind. Ok, so if the presentation, professionalism wasn't enough... Lets move on to the educational experience and what exactly cemented my understanding that I can never have another exterminator take care of my place. Calvin illuminated areas that existed that I was not aware of. He pulled out my stove, my refrigerator, and shined the cool light that he had light attached to his forehead so that I could see what was really going on behind my appliances. He cleaned and sealed the holes and this was more than any other exterminator had ever done. When he wrote the bill up (which I was glad to pay), he educated me on exactly they types of chemicals used and the amounts of concentrations of the active ingredients. I started using VHP's pest control services a little over six months ago. I wanted to make sure…read morethat the initial results weren't a fluke and the pests were really gone. My previous servicer performed well initially, but six years of quarterly services later, they could never get a good handle on the pest problem. (See my review of my old Servicer and how I think they contributed to the problem.) VHP's pricing was very reasonable and after speaking with the owner, I was hopeful. Well they identified the problem area after the first visit!! For years, I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong because I was consistent with my pest services and obsessive about cleaning. Did you know that bugs can enter through your attic?! I didn't, but thank goodness that VHP did. After the follow up visit, I no longer had to worry about I'd see when I turned on the lights in the middle of the night. Those of you reading this, and have pest issues, understand the overwhelming sense of peace that comes with no longer worrying about randomly seeing a bug scurrying across the wall or floor. The five stars should tell you that this service works! After a snake found its way into my home, I also used VP to clean my gutters and identify areas that needed blocking to prevent additional 'guests' from entering my home. Now, the open areas around pipes and the gutters are closed and (hopefully) no entry points remain. This is a long post to say USE THIS PROVIDER!!! They have NEVER looked this good. Will went above and beyond cutting back trees that were in the gutters. He even rimmed one in the front that looked bad on G.P. and he also installed downspouts.
