I was pretty wary when Andrew and Caine knocked on my door shortly after a hailstorm and asked if I would let them take a look at my roof. I'm certainly not the type of person who responds kindly to many solicitors at my door. However, I knew I had a fairly old roof and I had nothing to do so figured I'd let them take a look. They let me know my roof definitely needed to be replaced and went about filing a claim with my insurance company. Within a few weeks my claim had been approved, and Gold Star was at my house to replace my roof. They recommended a roof color (that I was nervous about but turned out great) and walked me through the process. They did an excellent job and were done in less than two days. There were a couple of things I wanted them to come back and touch-up, and they did so with no complaints. When finished, Caine came and met at my house and took care of the paperwork for them to get paid by way of the checks the insurance company sent me. Gold Star never asked for any payment until the job was completely finished and I was satisfied. No money ever came out of my pocket as the only money I paid Gold Star was from the checks the insurance company sent me. All I was left with was a completely free, brand-new, impact resistant roof worth around 15k. We discovered our roof was leaking during a 3-day stormy period this fall. Our roof had been damaged by the hail storm in May but we didn't realize it. We called several roofers asking for emergency help. Most responded that they couldn't get to us for a week or two- which was no help at all for a roof that was currently leaking and causing interior water damage. Getting a new roof was much easier than I expected. After having my insurance company come to look at my roof, the comments the insurance person made sounded like there was no way that they would pay for my new roof as the damages were just regular wear and tear.
