Received services on a Cal. King and a Queen bed we were able to be seen within three days from initial contact. Customer service was immaculate we had an awesome technician who educated us on the process of cleaning the mattress. From start to finish he was here about 1 hr and 45 minutes. We had only scheduled for the Cal King bed to be washed but were so impressed with the results we asked if he could also clean our smaller bed. Just had Adam from Gold Star Cleaning come to my apartment to treat a gray fabric couch. I bought it second hand with a few spots and discoloration on the seat cushions. However, after Adam was able to work his magic, the cushions were like brand new. I was stoked to have something that I bought at a great value to come back to life as if I walked into the furniture store and bought it straight off the sales floor. Adam was also very courteous and respectful. He made sure to prep the area to ensure any mess was contained. He actually left it the space cleaner than before he started. Started okay, but started unraveling quite a bit in cleaning (and attitude) that Myra (main boss?) had initially explained nice and friendly at the beginning. So far the cleaner has come really late. One hour late the last time. I tried making it easier by substituting a smaller room cleaned even without a bed in it. Lot less work I thought. Only swiffer. But Myra accused me of changing the job on them. She made it sound like it was I violated the contract, making it sound like I was making it difficult for them. Seemed friendly at first but then seems to throw the book citing hardship if varied. Almost seemed like she tried to play hardball with inconsistent explanations. Saying that a worker told her that I "forced" them to clean a different room. Is it "forced" if I asked if it would be okay, and she herself seemed to have liked the idea, since it was easier, and smiled and said okay, yeah, no problem? A smaller room with without the bed, I even helped to bring the cleaning time by a swiffer to ONLY 5 minutes! She didn't even do the largest room of all, the living room. Good deal for her. I was told initially at the start that their $103 minimum for was 2 people Tina and Miana to work 2- 2 1/2 hrs. I was told that they're doing me a favor by dropping it from $168 initial cleaning. Okay, great foot in the door. But the next time they sent only Miana who worked only 1 hr 15 minutes before they tried to pick her up. At least I got 15 minutes more cleaning, but then Adam, Myra's husband came back 1.5 hrs after that. That's 1.5 hrs that Miana was waiting around waiting for her pickup. That kind of put my day in reverse. Miana is an okay worker, but communication is super awkward. She even told her boss that I had a wife in my bedroom who was sick. That was totally untrue. When I explained to Myra the communication problem, she said I was the only person in 3 years to say anything about it. As if Miana the cleaner had perfect communication skills aI was the one who was lying. It seems they have too many overhead people overseeing too few workers. So far I've talked to 3 bosses and only 2 workers with only one showing up the last time ! And I still had to pay $115 for less than 1.5 hrs of cleaning. That came out to $76: hr for one cleaner. Seems rather high. The 2-2 1/2 hr one-person Myra quoted was rescinded to say "we don't go by the hour, we go by the job." That means if one person works for an hour, I would end up paying $100 an hour. Seems a little expensive for me. read more

They were late. Not satisfied. I feel like I paid more than I got. I like the fact they don't talk and just work. Worse seems unhappy.

By far Gold Star Cleaning is the best. I recently had my carpet cleaned by another company and was a little disappointed when I saw the end result. Stains were still there so afterwards I called Gold Star Cleaning, they came in and... what a difference. Stains were lifted & the carpet looks brighter and vibrant again. They are EXTREMELY difficult to get in touch with. Phone calls ring to voicemail most of the time. Text messages are rarely answered. Very frustrating when we're trying to leave the island and left hanging. Our horror story follows. My wife and I have used Gold Star Cleaning for a monthly, light cleaning for several years without issue, but choosing them for our deep "move out special" cleaning was a big mistake. First, we had a girl named Rosie come to do our cleaning most months - she was thorough and did a great job. A few months ago, however, we were told that Rosie had quit and got a different cleaner, who did an OK job (but not as good as Rosie!) When they came to do the "deep clean", we had to instruct them several times about things that were missed as they cleaned our condo. Even after telling them 3-4 times about things that were missed, they still didn't get cleaned. Cabinet interiors were coated in dirt/dust, we found cockroach bodies in one of them, the stainless steel appliances were untouched and very dirty, there were dust bunnies in corners and under the sink area, they didn't move the mat under the sink in the kitchen (leaving the floor dirty), there was cleaning residue left on the faucets and backsplashes, the track lighting wasn't touched, the tile floor still had very visible smudges (even after "steam" cleaning)... I could go on and on. We called them back and complained, and they sent one cleaner back the next day (we had to reschedule our photographer because they hadn't finished), but after 40 mins of slow, "going through the motions" cleaning, she up and left saying that her supervisor was coming to finish. The stainless steel appliances were still untouched, she lied to us about wiping down the cleaning residue on the sinks, she lied to us about steaming all of the floors upstairs (she did one room but left the others) . We asked her several times "did you get X done"? And her answer was always "yes", regardless of if she actually did it. We called the company after a few hours of nobody showing up and they were clueless... so she lied about someone coming too. My wife ended up doing all of the cleaning they did not, spending several hours doing it. On top of all of this, one of their cleaners threw away or took the detergent dispenser in our front-loading washing machine. We had pulled it out and left it in the shower to dry after cleaning mildew off, and after they left it was nowhere to be found. That'll be another $181 for the parts and shipping. Wonderful people at gold star cleaning. Their service was timely and very thorough. My carpet has seen several Decades of traffic and after Adam was done it appears virtually new! I was not expecting much since I've attempted cleaning them with rental gear and have had carpet cleaners in the past. My expectations were far exceeded thanks to Adams quality service. Not often you'll have prompt, good priced effective service in Hawaii. Adam took the time to address my questions and concerns-- great guy, cares a lot. I'll be using them again.
