Looks like it has been a while sonce there has been a review of this place, a whole year it seems. Well as I have seen from the past reviews it looks like this Gold Star Chili has improved greatly. While it is clean, tidy, has a nice old school fast food restaurant retro feel, it is filled with wonderful staff and great food. I had my first three-way here, I am originally from Cincinnati, Ohio and I must say out of all the chili I have had this really settles with my soul. It's cooked with love, all the meals are prepared with effort towards BOTH quality and quantity. The staff are relaxed, they know the ropes, and are quick to please you and give off a vibe that makes you want to come back again. Cooks do their work with smiles and surprising finesse. I'm proud to say that I have found my favorite place to eat in my hometown where I am now settling back into after over a decade of being gone from. Consider this review and please remember that the negative ones were from a year ago, improvement can be done in the blink of an eye and they have done so tenfold! read more

Yes, their coneys are good but for me it's Hamburger Heaven! I guess Goldstar original started as a burger joint and I'm not sure if they tapped into their ancestors for the burger recipe but it's very good. Wonderfully seasoned beef, fresh topping's , a warm soft bun and delicious cheese. It's a shockingly good burger. It really is. read more

I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. No customer service when I walked in. My food was cold. The bowl I got with my crackers had ketchup in it. The forks were extremely dirty. Which is disgusting !!!! The bathroom smelled like weed. There was multiple staff people outside smoking at once. Also as I went to the bathroom there was vape stuff sitting on a counter by the bathrooms. Inappropriate language. The Music was disturbing. We decided to go through the drive thru today and we are glad we did! Haven't had Gold Star in years, and this was fresh and delicious! They also offered our dog in the backseat a hot dog and cut it up into little pieces in a cup. We will definitely be back! read more

I was super hungry haven't had it in awhile I decided to stop by. Food was great and prepared excellent but the server Courtney was very unprofessional. She wasn't very friendly, Cussing out loud a ton, talking very I inappropriately, and didn't have the best attitude. It definitely made me not want to come back again. I love this location. I'm here at least once a week for lunch or after work and the service is always excellent. The food is even better. I've only had one mistake in the years I've been going to this location but the manager (who might I add was very pleasant to look at and talk to) corrected it very fast and had me leaving smiling. There are Gold Stars all over the tri-state but this one is the best. read more

Gold Star - Dinner "rush" - Fast Food Near Me - Cincinnati, Ohio

It had been a while since we are here (No particular reason), so we thought we would try it again. The restaurant was clean and we were promptly greeted by our waitress. We got our food and drinks quickly. I wanted to try something different and tried the Octoberfest Cheese Coney and a phony coney. The Octoberfest coney had potential except there was barely any sauerkraut, the bratwurst was tiny and the chili was "warm." Definitely not worth $2.19. The rest of my family got either a cheese coney or phony coney, kids meal and we split an order of fries. We noticed immediately that the serving size of the cheese and onions on the conies were very skimpy. Fries used to come with the kids meals previously but now are $.99 extra. I am assuming the lack of cheese is a cost cutting measure? I did not see where a combo meal was an option anymore. For $30 including tip there are too many other options to eat out at. The small portions and the over priced hot dogs will definitely make us twice before coming back again. This restaurant is not on our "banned" list but there are simply too many other options to eat at than to pay $30 to eat hot dogs and fries. read more

The store is nice-looking, and the servers are usually good, had one or two here and there, but most are worth having. Simple establishment, casual. My wife and I have this little Gold Star in our rotation for "day out dining" and we always have a pleasant experience. We get the 3-way chili, and my wife especially likes the chili cheese fries. One time, she got a burrito bowl and said it was nice. I sometimes get the 4-way or 5-way, and they offer vegetarian options now on chili which we appreciate. Sodapop is good, and the milkshakes are delightful. Pricing is not too bad (usually $18-$25) and I tip well. I also enjoy the TV they have, which you can watch during meal. read more

It's beyond me why anyone prefers overpriced watered down chili(Skyline) when there is better quality and value down the street. I have eaten at this restaurant for YEARS, and absolutely love it! Jennifer at the drive-through window is the best! She is always kind and personable and patient. Today I was waiting in line for the drive-through. The way the drive-through is set up, my car had to cross over the incoming traffic lane. As I was sitting there waiting a lady came from the opposite lane and started to turn to go through the drive-through. I honked my horn at her to let her know that I was next and she needed to go to the end of the line behind me. There were at least two cars behind me waiting. She ignored me and pulled in right after the car had given their order in front of me. The lady Behind me got mad pulled out and blocked the lane behind the other lady so that she was next so that I would not be able to get in at all. Jennifer saw what was going on came out the back door and told both of those ladies to back up I was next. She gave them what for and telling them it was ridiculous to act that way. They all knew that I was next. When I put my order in I told her she deserved a raise. When I got to the window I talked to the manager and told her what a great employee she was and how she looks out for the customers. read more
