I asked a question about my original cartilage piercing and I was told that the piercer used a barbell that was too short and there was no way for the piercing to swell and heal properly. My earring was changed but I was charged for a new earring, even though they used the wrong one in the first place. A few weeks later I was cleaning the conch piercing and the earring fell out, and because it was a small earring that screwed into the back, it was not easy to put back in myself or with my husband's help. I called Embassy Tattoo to ask if they could put my earring back in for me, and they said they weren't taking jewelry changes that day because they were running a special for only new piercings. When I said it wasn't a new piercing, it was a 3 week old piercing that fell out, they told me it didn't matter and to stop by the next day. I definitely wasn't waiting a day to put a new piercing back into my ear when it was throbbing, swelling, and would definitely close by then. I went to another tattoo shop nearby who, after saying a new piercing should not have been a screw-in earring, changed the earring for one that snapped in. They also took a look at the new piercing and the original cartilage I got at Embassy Tattoo and said both were pierced on an angle which makes it harder to heal (as I've been experiencing over these last few months). While the staff at Embassy Tattoo are great, I don't see myself going back to after this.

I think the price for the service is very reasonable, but the jewelry price is on the more expensive side. I thought about getting multiple piercings, but chose to just get one based on the price of the jewelry alone. I could see myself coming back in the future because the experience was so enjoyable. Definitely better than any experience I have had in a tattoo shop! They also give you quality aftercare instructions and spray.

I believe that $160 is the minimum price for any tattoo here. Tripp provided me with a quote in advance, per my request, and was very prompt and direct about the pricing as soon as I provided him with an example of what I wanted, which I really appreciated. I initially felt like this price was a bit high, however I called several highly rated tattoo parlors in the area, and this was the lowest price for my simple tattoo. So comparatively, this place checks out, price-wise! I am glad I paid to have it done at Wasteland, as the experience was incredible. I asked a lot of beginner, kinda silly questions, but never felt belittled, and felt like I was being taken seriously and really cared for just in the way that my questions were addressed. The care process was honestly very easy, and within a couple of days, I felt that it was pretty much healed up! A super easy and fun process :) Cons: Truly ZERO from me! Since I've started going to them, I have not looked to anyone else to take care of my piercings or tattoos. EB is super helpful and thoughtful and has a great eye for piercing anatomy, and EB also takes the time out of super busy days to reply to messages and follow up with aftercare advice. EB from the beginning has been so accommodating with each visit and truly cares about the healing progress of finished work. Tim is such a hard worker and diligent artist and always takes time before/during/afterwards to make sure his projects are top notch. You can schedule everything completely online (at least for piercings) and I was very pleased not having to go through some convoluted process to get an appointment. Because I technically had 2 appointments back to back, I had a longer time slot reserved. Despite this, I was grateful the initial booking down payment wasn't any more expensive. Nice. The place is chill and fairly lowkey despite being in the middle of downtown silver spring and Dennis, the piercer, did a good job swapping out my nose screw for a labret and piercing my rook. It was fairly painless and easy. So far both are healing nicely. The only (somewhat) negative is the pricing is really high (I paid around $170 for both combined) but I understand the economy is shit rn so, whatever, I have the money. In the long run it's not a big deal when you are going to the best in the Montgomery county area.

For my other piercing, the piercer only had one piece of jewelry, and it's usually big because you need to give room for the swelling. So this tiny ass jewelry is now in my skin, and I don't have my 154.54. So yipeeeee. Just save your time and money and go to a good place, brh.
