I tried to make reservations here and was unable to but tried to do a walk in around 5:30 on a Saturday. Was happy to find out I could be seated but had to give up the table by 7:30. The restaurant was very busy. We were seated far in the back. It's very dark and moody inside with lots of tropical plants. Grilled polenta with whipped salted cod and anchovy - was my least favorite dish. I wanted to love this, but it was missing something - maybe needed something with a little crunch? Wood roasted rainbow carrots - the sauce was delicious and carrots were nicely charred! Chargrilled hispi cabbage - our favorite dish! Sounds so simple but the flavor was so good!!! Ambiance is beautiful and food is really good. Service sadly missed the mark. We went on a Tuesday night and it was slammed. The server was not professional and didn't seem that attentive to us and had us order dishes one at a time that didn't make sense coming out alone. She would wipe the counter in front of us since we sat at bar with food falling on our laps and the food took forever to come out. The chef Fabio and his staff who is amazing noticed how hungry we were and long we waited made us special dishes because of the wait. Fabio saved the day to make up for lackluster service. Had one of the best meals here. If you're walking up Portobello Road... this is not to be missed! Creative small plates, hats off to the chef who imagined combining so many different ingredients in each dish. Every bite exploded with flavor. Tuna carpaccio - topped with datterini tomatoes, capers, olives, and marjoram - a perfect starter. Salad - with squash, pomegranate, freekeh, red chicory, dandelion, walnuts. My family and I wanted to have a nice dinner and we chose right!! This restaurant looks nice from the outside but the food is outstanding!! The ambiance is nice and trendy with plants and modern furniture inside. The steak and chicken were cooked exactly to our liking and were packed with flavor. For our desert we selected the carrot cake which was good but not our favorite. The service is great, the servers are very friendly but at times hard to get their attention. Fabulous, Fabulous !! I think our favorite meal & setting during our trip. We literally stumbled upon this oddly tilted outdoor seating with warm, inviting lighting & decided to give a try.. We sat outside with cozy overhead warmers & the warmest server who was just so delightful. The sun was setting & it was pretty packed inside with folks continuously arriving during our time there. Loved the few dishes that we tried, Chargrilled hispi cabbage, bagna cauda, chili, breadcrumbs & Wood roasted whole sea bream, wild oregano, capers (capers the size of M&M's) and our favorite was a salad not on the menu on line that I am referring to now, but it was Beet root, pea shoots, winter leaves feta with a pickled shallot dressing and it was out of this world. Exciting cocktails, mine was House on Fire: mezcal, ancho & chipotle chilli syrup & lime. Lee loved his Blood Orange Negroni. We were so lucky to get a table by walking in. The garden seating was really cute and it's all in a glass house setting so you will be feeling like you are sitting in the garden but without the cold. I LOVE that. Our server was so nice and attentive. We asked about the menu and recommendation and he explains everything in detail and we ordered the things that he recommended - we are not disappointed. Trout on toast - the pickled cucumber was such a winner in this dish as it brings out all the flavor and balance it so well. Burrata on toast with pear - I'd prefer the pear to be a bit more soft but the sweetness goes so well with the meat. One complaint is that there's too much oil on it. Chicken - forgive my lack of descriptive words, the sauce tastes like Sriracha mayo - rich with a bit of a kick. Exactly how we like it. It become a bit too heavy for me at the end because of the oil from the Burrata but my friend was very happy about it. Wine selection was great too and they even have a glass of red or white for £5.5 - what a pleasant surprise for a nice restaurant like this! Very pleased with our lunch experience here and would definitely come back! read more

My husband and I came here the other night. We actually turned up early for our reservation so had a drink at the bar first. The bar was super cute and the very kind bartender was happy to make me a cocktail that wasn't on the menu. My husband had a vodka ginger cocktail of some kind and I had a gin, ginger and lemon cocktails, both of which were delicious. We then went upstairs for dinner. We weren't super hungry so only had a few things. We started with oysters which I enjoyed. Then shared a beat salad which I would recommend and the prochetta dish which I thought was just ok. My husband then had the grilled octopus which he said was nice but not the best he's had. The reason for three stars is while the food was ok it was a little over priced and the service honestly was not great. I doubt I'd return. read more

Unexpected Experience! We were initially disappointed they didn't have a table outside & we could only sit at the bar. Well, turned out to be the best seat in the house! We watched all the cooking & prep in the open kitchen. Only issue is that everything looked so delicious & made it extra difficult to decide what to order. The place was packed as we wrapped up a visit to the Portobello Road Market. We had to sit in the bar. And it was worth it. The food was simply outstanding. Cauliflower and horseradish, sweet potatoes with a nice pesto, and the grilled sea bream. All wonderful. Would go back in a moment. read more

The restaurant is in a great location in Notting Hill. Quite expensive. Service was tight, but the food was meh. The meatballs were overdone. The lamb leg steak butchery was terrible. All bone, no meat. I rarely to it, but I sent it back as this was not an inexpensive entree. Overall, disappointing for such a great city. read more

The receptionist gave us a lovely table for two, in the restaurant garden area. The waiter service was friendly, courteous and thoughtful. Great spot in Notting Hill for dinner. Great service from our wait staff. Extremely attentive. Drinks were expensive and too much ice and not enough alcohol. Food was incredible. It is more like tapas servings but enough to share each dish for 2. The short rib ravioli was my favorite dish in all of London. The free range chicken was also a great dish.
