    Mushroom toast--would order again.
    Michelle D.

Absolutely loved the food and ambiance. Very vacationy but cool city vibe. Server was good, and the food started out at a good pace, but then my daughter's steak was significantly delayed from the rest of our plates as the kitchen became very busy. Great cocktails. I highly recommend.

Had one of the best meals here. If you're walking up Portobello Road... this is not to be missed! Creative small plates, hats off to the chef who imagined combining so many different ingredients in each dish. Every bite exploded with flavor. Tuna carpaccio - topped with datterini tomatoes, capers, olives, and marjoram - a perfect starter. Salad - with squash, pomegranate, freekeh, red chicory, dandelion, walnuts. Ravioli with Braised beef short rib agnolotti, and porcini butter. This was my favorites it was so light and tender. A very special place and should not be missed.

This place never disappoints. Love that the menu is seasonal. Service is 10/10 and food was superb. We got the fig and cheese toast, cabbage appetizer, shrimps, and orange cake for dessert. Every item was unique and filled with flavor. Will definitely be back!

    The steak (AMAZING!!!)

My family and I wanted to have a nice dinner and we chose right!! This restaurant looks nice from the outside but the food is outstanding!! The ambiance is nice and trendy with plants and modern furniture inside. The steak and chicken were cooked exactly to our liking and were packed with flavor. For our desert we selected the carrot cake which was good but not our favorite. The service is great, the servers are very friendly but at times hard to get their attention. I definitely recommend coming to Gold if you are looking for a nice restaurant in Nottinghill!!!

Beetroot, Feta, winter leaves, pickled shallot dressing ... fabulous !!

Fabulous, Fabulous !! I think our favorite meal & setting during our trip. We literally stumbled upon this oddly tilted outdoor seating with warm, inviting lighting & decided to give a try.. We sat outside with cozy overhead warmers & the warmest server who was just so delightful. The sun was setting & it was pretty packed inside with folks continuously arriving during our time there. Loved the few dishes that we tried, Chargrilled hispi cabbage, bagna cauda, chili, breadcrumbs & Wood roasted whole sea bream, wild oregano, capers (capers the size of M&M's) and our favorite was a salad not on the menu on line that I am referring to now, but it was Beet root, pea shoots, winter leaves feta with a pickled shallot dressing and it was out of this world. Exciting cocktails, mine was House on Fire: mezcal, ancho & chipotle chilli syrup & lime. Lee loved his Blood Orange Negroni. I highly recommend visiting & we look forward to visiting again on our next trip to London. Truly superb.

We were so lucky to get a table by walking in. The garden seating was really cute and it's all in a glass house setting so you will be feeling like you are sitting in the garden but without the cold. I LOVE that. Our server was so nice and attentive. We asked about the menu and recommendation and he explains everything in detail and we ordered the things that he recommended - we are not disappointed. Trout on toast - the pickled cucumber was such a winner in this dish as it brings out all the flavor and balance it so well. Burrata on toast with pear - I'd prefer the pear to be a bit more soft but the sweetness goes so well with the meat. One complaint is that there's too much oil on it. Chicken - forgive my lack of descriptive words, the sauce tastes like Sriracha mayo - rich with a bit of a kick. Exactly how we like it. It become a bit too heavy for me at the end because of the oil from the Burrata but my friend was very happy about it. Wine selection was great too and they even have a glass of red or white for £5.5 - what a pleasant surprise for a nice restaurant like this! Very pleased with our lunch experience here and would definitely come back!

Everything here was soooo good! The place is very cute. Went on a Saturday night with no reservation and got a nice seat at the bar. I would say the mushrooms and potatoes were my favorite dish. Also got an orange almond cake for dessert that I would skip next time.

My husband and I came here the other night. We actually turned up early for our reservation so had a drink at the bar first. The bar was super cute and the very kind bartender was happy to make me a cocktail that wasn't on the menu. My husband had a vodka ginger cocktail of some kind and I had a gin, ginger and lemon cocktails, both of which were delicious. We then went upstairs for dinner. We weren't super hungry so only had a few things. We started with oysters which I enjoyed. Then shared a beat salad which I would recommend and the prochetta dish which I thought was just ok. My husband then had the grilled octopus which he said was nice but not the best he's had. The reason for three stars is while the food was ok it was a little over priced and the service honestly was not great. I doubt I'd return.

One eventually came to our table after sitting awhile. I of course had to try the fish n chips. A couple of veggie burgers were ordered and a regular burger. Surprisingly happy hour was still on at 8 o'clock so drinks were ordered. The food all came at the same time and everything was cool. The fish had a nice flavor from the fried batter. To me it was similar to Long John Silvers as far as the batter is concerned, but slightly better quality overall. The fries were standard. The only thing horrible was the very bland mashed green peas. They should be omitted from every pub across the country, but I think it is a traditional item included with the fish. The cocktails were good as well as the price. The sticky toffee pudding was something else I was advised to try while in London. I must admit it was really delicious. It came with a scoop of ginger ice cream and a warm buttery toffee sauce to pour over. It was delightfully warm and sweet and paired well with the ice cream. The cake itself was moist enough on its own with notes of brown sugar and molasses. I could have had seconds and thirds of this desert. Yum! The majority of my party didn't think the food was fantastic. The burgers happened to be somewhat alright. This was a first for me having pub food and I would have more again as long as I stick to the basics.

Yes, there are many pubs in London, everyone has their favorite, everyone has their local, and my "local" depends on where I am staying. In any case, several of us met here. The place was definitely hopping but one of our group arrived early and grabbed a table. We all ordered drinks, I had beer which was delicious. After perusing the menu, I ordered the standard- Fish & Chips, with Mushy Peas. It came out quickly and was fried to perfection. Everybody else who ordered food seemed happy with their choices. It was a great setting to meet up with friends, and I will happily come back here when in the area. A solid pub in a city of many pubs!

However, on deeper inspection - the Cow is a marvelous dining experience - complete with an extensive wine selection, rotating specials, and a bespoken approach to food preparation. The food? The green bean salad was so unique and popping with flavors, I scribbled the ingredients list in an attempt to reproduce the dish at home. The atmosphere is hopping - it's a small pub ambience and there is not any wasted space. Not to fear, the delightful staff can help find a table for your party. I was a bit intimidated walking in on a Sunday night all by myself. My trepidation quickly went away as the server made it easy to relax and enjoy my evening. As a small aside, I sat next to the small kitchen space on the main floor. To see the amazing plates being prepared one after the other in that tiny kitchen, well . . . that was an amazing experience in and of itself. Chapeau to the chef. Truly a masterpiece to put out such accomplished food from a space no larger than most bathrooms.

We chose the tasting menu since it featured a variety of farm-fresh dishes. My husband added the wine pairing. Dessert was chocolate mousse, but I asked to switch to pie, and they were happy to accommodate. The ambiance felt like a cozy English countryside diner. I loved the details about the farm and the little pamphlet about where the food came from. Every dish was so thoughtful. This place is a hidden gem.
