Classic London pub experience. Came on a Saturday while touring Notting hill. Loved the atmosphere even though the restaurant was a tad dirty (bathrooms were filthy). Fish and chips were great but there was a delay and we had to wait a long time. They did give us free beer for the wait.

My friends and I checked this place out after dinner on a Tuesday night. I loved the ambiance of it all and the bartender was super attentive and friendly. We were just there for drinks (beer, wine, rosè), and the crowd was pretty chill. There is a garden outside, and we wanted to go but it was too cold. The garden does close earlier than the bar. I especially love the neon sign that they have on the wall "I'm just a girl standing in front of a boy." I will definitely be back to check this place out. My friend only had great things to say about this place, and I'm glad I had the chance to check it out.

Good size spot in a great location. Watched final World Cup France vs Croatia but too stuffy bc they don't open windows or doors and not enough seating. Fair prices for good variety of beers on tap though.

Having lived in london over two and a half years now and with Notting Hill being one of my favourite areas of London, I have often wondered past The Prince Albert and thought to myself hmmm 'I wonder what it's like in there'. Well tonight I finally got that chance. It's actually quite a nice pub with a huge outdoor area and plenty of seating for all who enter. Tonight was a particularly busy with evening with England playing but we were still able to grab a couple of stools at the bar and grab a bite even at 9pm. I originally opted for the rainbow salad but they didn't have it. I then opted for the steam buns with a side of corn on the cob - they didn't have the corn either. Rather disappointing so my trying to be reasonably healthy turned into the complete opposite. In the end we ordered nachos with pulled pork, chips cheese and gravy, corn frittas, steamed buns AND Mac and cheese - yes way to much for two people but what a tasting platter and all for a reasonable price. The food came altogether and at a good pace. The stand outs by far were the chips cheese and gravy (I mean you can't really go wrong as this is one of mans greatest creations) and the bacon steamed buns (the bacon steak was in a sticky and delicious sauce, tops with cut up cucumber and chilli - delicious! And to say it was a traditional viet meal option a pub actually did it well!) Overall a good experience and I would definitely come back to check out that beer garden properly! :)

Being threatened by facial recognition cameras outside the pub by the bouncer was a pretty sour end to an evening...

Good mix of twenty-thirty somethings, and not particularly touristy, despite being virtually opposite the tube station.

We specifically came to try fish and chips, so we were lucky that The Mall Tavern was nearby. Each of us ordered fish and chips, and all of our plates were left nearly empty. My goodness, I have never had better fish and chips than here at The Mall Tavern. The fish was crispy, and the chips were perfectly salted to taste. I appreciate that chips in England are more like potato wedges than classic American french fries. Way less fried and way less salty, so you can enjoy the actual taste of the potatoes! I also ordered a side of Mac and cheese that we all shared. I don't know what kind of cheese(s) was used, but it was the perfect starter to our meal. For dessert, we had the sticky toffee pudding for the first time. It was hard not to order another one!! We came in for late lunch, so the restaurant was empty. I assume they are much busier at lunch and dinner time. I also enjoyed the selection of beer while we waited for our food to come out. Next time I'm in London, I'm returning here immediately.

One eventually came to our table after sitting awhile. I of course had to try the fish n chips. A couple of veggie burgers were ordered and a regular burger. Surprisingly happy hour was still on at 8 o'clock so drinks were ordered. The food all came at the same time and everything was cool. The fish had a nice flavor from the fried batter. To me it was similar to Long John Silvers as far as the batter is concerned, but slightly better quality overall. The fries were standard. The only thing horrible was the very bland mashed green peas. They should be omitted from every pub across the country, but I think it is a traditional item included with the fish. The cocktails were good as well as the price. The sticky toffee pudding was something else I was advised to try while in London. I must admit it was really delicious. It came with a scoop of ginger ice cream and a warm buttery toffee sauce to pour over. It was delightfully warm and sweet and paired well with the ice cream. The cake itself was moist enough on its own with notes of brown sugar and molasses. I could have had seconds and thirds of this desert. Yum! The majority of my party didn't think the food was fantastic. The burgers happened to be somewhat alright. This was a first for me having pub food and I would have more again as long as I stick to the basics.

Yes, there are many pubs in London, everyone has their favorite, everyone has their local, and my "local" depends on where I am staying. In any case, several of us met here. The place was definitely hopping but one of our group arrived early and grabbed a table. We all ordered drinks, I had beer which was delicious. After perusing the menu, I ordered the standard- Fish & Chips, with Mushy Peas. It came out quickly and was fried to perfection. Everybody else who ordered food seemed happy with their choices. It was a great setting to meet up with friends, and I will happily come back here when in the area. A solid pub in a city of many pubs!
