Classic London pub experience. Came on a Saturday while touring Notting hill. Loved the atmosphere even though the restaurant was a tad dirty (bathrooms were filthy). Fish and chips were great but there was a delay and we had to wait a long time. They did give us free beer for the wait. read more

Tonight Mixed Mike was refused service for apparently "making people feel uncomfortable". Even though all night he talked to me as can be seen on the CCTV as I was seated in front of it. There was a similar incident with a gentleman on the news recently with a Restaurant refusing service to a gentleman with facial disfigurement caused by cancer called Oliver Bromley being refused service at a restaurant for "making customer feel uncomfortable". It was only one staff that asserted this, and another backed him due to pressure I'm guessing as she is a lovely lady. Perhaps the CCTV footage should be reviewed and a fair conclusion reached. Peace but it's in the spirit of fairness !!! read more

The pub is quite pleasant and the beer garden adds to its charm. On our visit we opted for chips and soft drinks, but they were very expensive. In addition, one member of our party ordered the Yorkshire dish, expecting it to be filled mainly with roast potatoes, but to her dismay it was mostly other vegetables, with only about three-quarters of the potatoes she expected. My friends and I checked this place out after dinner on a Tuesday night. I loved the ambiance of it all and the bartender was super attentive and friendly. We were just there for drinks (beer, wine, rosè), and the crowd was pretty chill. There is a garden outside, and we wanted to go but it was too cold. The garden does close earlier than the bar. I especially love the neon sign that they have on the wall "I'm just a girl standing in front of a boy." I will definitely be back to check this place out. My friend only had great things to say about this place, and I'm glad I had the chance to check it out. read more

Standard British pub. Standard beer selection. Adequate service, the level of which dropped significantly when they heard my American accent. No matter; I'm not tipping like a tourist anyway. Decent burger. All in all, a non-descript, interchangeable London pub. Anywhere else the prices would be outrageous - a burger and a couple of pints will go almost 30 pounds, but it's Notting Hill, so whatever. read more

Having lived in london over two and a half years now and with Notting Hill being one of my favourite areas of London, I have often wondered past The Prince Albert and thought to myself hmmm 'I wonder what it's like in there'. Well tonight I finally got that chance. It's actually quite a nice pub with a huge outdoor area and plenty of seating for all who enter. Tonight was a particularly busy with evening with England playing but we were still able to grab a couple of stools at the bar and grab a bite even at 9pm. I originally opted for the rainbow salad but they didn't have it. I then opted for the steam buns with a side of corn on the cob - they didn't have the corn either. Rather disappointing so my trying to be reasonably healthy turned into the complete opposite. In the end we ordered nachos with pulled pork, chips cheese and gravy, corn frittas, steamed buns AND Mac and cheese - yes way to much for two people but what a tasting platter and all for a reasonable price. The food came altogether and at a good pace. The stand outs by far were the chips cheese and gravy (I mean you can't really go wrong as this is one of mans greatest creations) and the bacon steamed buns (the bacon steak was in a sticky and delicious sauce, tops with cut up cucumber and chilli - delicious! And to say it was a traditional viet meal option a pub actually did it well!) Overall a good experience and I would definitely come back to check out that beer garden properly! :) read more

We popped here after doing an event nearby and were just lucky (or unlucky enough) to catch one of England's second half Euro 2016 performances (so unlucky then...) - the place was heaving but we managed to get a prime spot in front of the main TV's and settled in for a couple of pints and some much needed fodder. At 9pm most of the healthy food 'salads, avocado of any sort etc' had run out which left us just looking at random fast foody bites on the menu. We ordered a few bits (see my snaps) but overall it was all a bit 'meh' - amazingly the chips and gravy were probably the best. Not a bad little boozer in terms of beer selection but probably not somewhere I'd go loads unless there was a match on. read more

Had lunch on a Sunday at the PA. It's in a great location, close to the NH tube stop. Inside it's clean, friendly, and on a Sunday afternoon, had a mix of families, foreigners, and Arsenal fans. We found a good selection of beer and wine, easily ordered on their handy App. I had an Estrella beer, and the fish and chips, which were very good. The fish tasted fresh, not frozen, and the breading was. Risky and tasty, without that "been too long since we changed the fry oil" aftertaste. My wife had a nice rioja and a vegetable bowl, which was full of grains, veggies and soybeans, and seasoned with a Siracha Mayo. We split a sticky toffee, which was fluffy, not drenched with syrup. The service was speedy and the servers were pleasant. There were 2 televisions showing the football match, and rugby was showing in the patio area. I would definitely go back to the PA! read more

Came here for pre cinema drinks today. It was pretty cool- good beer selection, some sort of £10 a bottle wine deal on Tuesday (couldn't see very well, it was kinda hidden) and ample seating- lots of cozy sofas including sofas in the beer garden! Score! unfortunately we had to move in because the twits sitting on the sofa next to us were complaining loudly and incessantly about how terrible they felt after taking all that drugs over the weekend- Get over it, or stop doing it. Also, the sofas outside smelt strongly of cigarettes (even though it was a no smoking beer garden (which i gave another secret punch in the air to) and or puke (not sure which) so we had to move. Then we sat inside and two dudes decided to sit right next to us and talk so loudly, we couldn't hear our own conversation. CORRECTION- they decided to sit at the only table in a 1/2 empty pub at with plenty of seats where I had to stand up every time they wanted to get another pint, which was every freaking 15 minutes. This pub has so much potential, that's why I am giving it 3 stars, despite us leaving 40 minutes early for the cinema which was a whole 1 minute away- they have a bbq set up, decent menu (v. similar to the phoenix in town, might be owned by the same people?), good drink choices and honestly, there isn't like there is a pub within 5 minutes of the place... Clean up the puke-y smells and may be bring in a clientel with some sense of personal space and i might just come back and give it 5*. read more

Good pub near the Notting Hill underground. Stopped here for lunch. Service was good. My mom ordered the wings, which were delicious. The fish and chips were perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Beer selection was good. The interior was unremarkable, but we loved the flower boxes! read more

Recently had an equally awesome and random experience here last Sunday, which included the following: -Bloody Mary (one of the best in London) -A table of hot Swedish girls (my lovely ladies) -A Latvian millionaire who generously offered us a bottle of champagne ...Make that two ...Make that three and a round of Jagerbombs -Pictures with sunglasses and mayo bottles -A swedish bartender who wanted to be spanked (in Swedish) I'm not sure I remember the rest although I wouldn't mind visiting here again. Loved this place for several reasons. First, it was Christmas Day, and almost nothing was open. We would have been happy with anything. The first waiter gave us no hope, but my wife scouted while I blabbed, and grabbed a table being abandoned by the window. Secondly, some of the Brits wore their Christmas crowns and everyone was in a festive mood. The Day's menu was limited, but the regular menu showed this to be a very versatile table. The food was agreeable (fish and chips-- best I'd eaten in London, and roasted chicken with winter vegetables.) Couldn't tell whether Malcolm was the owner or a very efficient manager. We will come back next time in the area. Notting Hill and Kensington have many fine eating places. read more

Stopped by on the way to the Portobello Road Market on a recent trip to London. Grabbed the 5 pound english breakfast right when it opened at 11AM. It was about what I expected it would be. Tasty and filling. There were a couple things that were a little off about the place though: 1) It was freezing inside the pub. Sure, it just opened and no one wants to waste energy heating an empty building, but it was really cold inside here. 2) There was no coffee. Yeah, it's a pub. But still, it would have been nice to have a hot cup of coffee with my breakfast. Especially given that it was so cold in the place. read more

It's nice enough, it's clean enough, it's got decent pints enough. But then it's crowded enough, it's got people who look at you funny enough, and it's got the splashiest men's toilets in London. It kind of fulfils the whole "you have to be at least 200m and around a corner from a Tube station to break three stars" feeling. Came here for a pretty relaxed weekday dinner with a girlfriend. Had a beef tongue+red wine+something pie thingie, which was a bit thin and gruely, but nonetheless cozy-acceptable. The side of kale wasn't great (and I love kale!), but the mashed potatoes were splendid. Wine was OK. Prince Albert is a good pub if you're looking for a watering hole in Notting Hill. They have a solid selection of beers and ciders on tap. I would recommend those over any wines (red or white) simply because their selection is generic. There's a wonderful back garden that gets packed pretty early on the weekends, so I'd recommend snagging some patio seats in the early evening! read more

A lovely pub in Notting Hill with a gorgeous fairy-lit, heated garden. Lots of character, good and reasonably priced food menu, cool clientele - but not too cool. They have Fruli on tap, which is good if you like an occassional frivolous fruit beer. Can get a bit too busy in the evenings, but this is a super place to come for afternoon drinking. read more

Any pub that serves Frulli gets my vote. I do love the Prince Albert, although due its location it does get rather rammed. Great atmosphere, good food (average wannabe gastro style), cute garden with fairy lights. The worst thing about this pub is the service. It has always been too slow and sometimes rather moody. Why do moody people always get jobs in pubs I wonder? Because place like the PA keep employing them. However, this has not stopped me from returning. So it can't be that badit isn't, but it's annoying when you can feel yourself sobering up in between drinks as you are waiting by the bar for service. Its festival queuing syndrome, where people start bulk buying. Wait Wait Wait. ANYWAYalways a good mix of people and lots of place to sit. Tuesday from 5pm is £10 a bottle on all wine. Which is good if you only want to out for a quick drink on a Tuesday and before you know it you are saying hello to bottle number 3! read more

The Prince Albert is one of my favourite pubs in London (that I know of anyway!) Its décor is really welcoming- it has a oblong bar in the centre of the venue and a mixture of low tables with chairs and sofas and high tables with stools all around the bar and off the centre in some side rooms. There is a gorgeous outside area with a lot of seating and they have heaters there in the winter so it does get warm enough to sit out there! It's about a 30 second walk from Notting Hill tube and a 2 minute walk to Portobello, so ideal if you are on your way to/from the market and want to rest your feet whilst sipping a cold pint! read more

I hadn't been to the Prince Albert for a couple of years, but was pleased to find on my return that the atmosphere was still the same- relaxed and lively. Good mix of twenty-thirty somethings, and not particularly touristy, despite being virtually opposite the tube station. Food was good. In fairness I only had a plate of nachos but the portion was good value for money with generous helpings of 'guac' et al, left no room for complaint. Also by eyeing up the food at the table next to me- the burgers looked pretty darn good too. Selection of beers was good, if small, and I recommend the house Pinot Grigio. Good sized outdoor terrace/smoking area. Would recommend dropping by for a few beers after hitting the shops on a saturday afternoon. read more

A very good, relaxed pub. I've always enjoyed their chips and the atmosphere. Last time i was there I had a great experience. We ordered from their specials menu and it was heaven! Amazing warm goat cheese salad and the chicken with beans was as delight. Even though English people have invented Worcestershire sauce I am always amazed about how poor Bloody Mary's are in London, this pub's BM were fantastic. The waitress even thanked us for the tip. Looked up a good place to stop for a bite to eat and drink before going to the Museum of Brands. The reviews for this place seemed great, but overall I was rather disappointed. The service (well, for Britain's idea of service) was rather poor where the bartender decided to serve her friends before getting to my friend and I who were waiting for over 5 minutes with only one other couple ahead of us. The food was ok - I've definitely had better fish and chips at other places in London and not a huge fan of the mint in the mushy peas. Really wish I had the bloody mary, seemed like a house specialty. Expect to pay more than the quality deserves. Even the atmosphere was disappointing. read more

I haven't visited this pub since the summer because I found this to be one of the worst pubs in the Notting Hill area. Not because of the pub itself as I think it's quite nice and large and do like the beer garden at the back especially in the summer. But because of the poor bar staff they seemed to have. Frequently I had to wait for a while as it was clear the bar staff were not serving people in turn and had no idea what was going on. Its disappointing as the pub is in a good location and very close to Notting Hill tube station. Instead of going here I would advise people to visit the Churchill Arms which is about 5 minutes away and has a much better atmosphere with staff who know what they are doing. read more
