    Chicken Pie

Excellent service from all of the staff. Our server, Yamir, was fantastic with all of the outstanding recommendations and very friendly. The decor is high end with lots of beautiful wood and lighting. Our beef and chicken pies came within 15 minutes and tasted delicious. The chicken especially had a unique flavour. Mashed potatoes were creamy with some nice beef gravy. What a great experience. Don't miss this place the next time you're in town!

Memorable place though bit pricy and bit unwelcoming service I had a hand raised pork pie - it was flavorful and juicy. Was a great dish to try but definitely not a place as "go to" as it was quite expensive (27GBP) They also offer baking class - if you are interested in making own pie with friends/family, it seems quite nice to try out :)

My bottom is line is "one and done" which equals = enjoyed, but would not return/recommend. Not sorry I came, but my hunt for the best British pie continues. Problems: - The Beef Pie was not available. Unacceptable for a 7:30p table. - Service was kind and started great. I was soon forgotten and a substitute server stepped in to save the day. - Beautiful dining room, but the crowd/ambience didn't fit. Think airport crowd/guests, but dining in a museum/palace. Highlights: - Scotch egg was great! - Bread was super stellar! - The Chicken pie was very good, but a little small and polluted with dark meat. At these prices, that's greedy. Unlike my experience at Quo Vadis in soho, the pastry here was great. If I could take the all white meat juicy chicken from Quo Vadis and marry it with the sauce and pastry of Holborn Dining room, that would be epic/legendary/award wining.

Great service!! Highly recommend: - the butter - celeriac and pear soup - the romesco sauce under the broccoli - the game pie (we had the game, pork and beef, game was by far the best) - w/e was in my birthday cake

Go on a Wednesday or don't go at all. The labor intensive, served only on Wednesday, beef Wellington is the only way to go. The inside is gorgeous and attended by seasoned and talented front of house team that knows how to please and cater to guests. The chicken pie was good but got embarrassingly upstaged by the elegant beef Wellington.

We saw this Pie Room at Holborn on a show, and as we were in London for a visit, we made it a point to stop in. I love a good pie, and this did not disappoint. The pies were the best I've had! I ordered the Beef Cheek Pie which was amazing. The beef melted it was so tender, the flavor was throughout the whole pie. Amazing. My wife got the chicken and mushroom pie. We both agreed that it wasn't as good as the beef Cheek, but was still a very good pie. We also both had a Scotch Egg. Again, this was amazing. It was my wife's first time having one, and she was utterly impressed. If you've never had one, you owe it to yourself. The food didn't look like a lot, but we both left stuffed, and in a food coma! The whole family crashed in our beds as soon as we got back to the hotel. I cannot recommend The Pie Shop at Holborn highly enough. Treat yourself and your loved ones and get an amazing, delicious, and filling pie. Don't forget the Scotch eggs too!

Charcuterie plate, curried mutton pie, and lobster tart

Before an upcoming London trip, I'd wanted to try classic British cuisine in an upmarket setting. I found Holborn Dining room from a google search, and immediately decided to come here. I met a couple of friends here, we'd made a reservation here before coming. The dining room is classic and elegant, and the service was efficient and polite. We ordered a few things to share between us, the charcuterie plate, fries, and two pies, one of which was the curried mutton. I was glad to tick off mutton from the list of things I hadn't eaten, but the mutton pie was served in mango chutney sauce, and it had a strange taste with the meat, but overall it was still good. Would highly recommend.

    Two pies for £44. Seriously.

This is the definition of "splashing out." In no other world would you pay £22 for a steak and kidney pie...or any pie. Having sampled said steak and kidney pie, I can confirm that it's good--but would you be orbiting the globe after tasting it? No. And you can get takeaway pie from their window onto the street for less than £10, 10-4pm or until they run out. We enjoyed our meal (my partner raved about the pate en croute, his starter), but when the tab for 2 starters, 2 mains, and 2 glasses of wine hist £100, we'll have to find our pie elsewhere. If you DO go, you'll marvel at the great service...and at that price, it's expected.

I ate here with my husband soon after landing from NYC. We were staying at the connected hotel and everyone said we had to try the pies here. The pies didn't disappoint and the restaurant itself was nice. Good service, pretty decor, centrally located and near the tube station.

Wow! Best avocado toast and soft poached eggs. The avo was so creamy fresh yummy. Nicely woven in with tomato The eggs perfect. The full English breakfast, sourdough toast, poached eggs, black bean cake (black pudding ) was awesome. Interesting mushroom accompanied the plate. Lovely pressed coffee and the latte was hot and smooth. Very attentive service.

Best meal I had in London - the 'Chicken, chestnut mushroom & tarragon pie' was easily the most delicious meat pie I've ever tasted in my life. It was served piping hot on a bed of mashed peas and topped off with a savory gravy table side. Ambiance is top-notch. I'll fly 7,000 across the US and Atlantic just to eat here again.

The Bill Marrow was also good. It was very rich. There were two kinds of Sunday roast a sirloin and a rump. Three of us had the rump roast dinner and three had the sirloin roast dinner. It was hard to tell the difference. All the dinners came with roasted potatoes greens and of course, Yorkshire pudding. It was all delicious. I have to say my favorite part is always the Yorkshire pudding. I also have a green salad, which is basically just lettuce with a light dressing. It was very fresh. We were too full for dessert. The service was excellent. We were seated right away and given water. In the UK, you can order sparkling, still or tap. Sparkling and still come with a charge. Tap is usually free. Our server was attentive without hovering. It's a good idea to make reservations at Hawksmoor especially for the Sunday roast. We got there at three by the time we left around 4:30 some of the roasts were already sold out. Just a note: Sunday roost is usually a late lunch not a dinner. It's good to go between two and four especially if you don't have a reservation.

Minced Beef & Onion: The most popular, apparently. Smooth and moist inside with a buttery flaky outside. Chicken & Mushroom: A nice variation from beef, but by no means lesser. With it's large chunks and umami gravy, this was like a quick hit fix for when craving a proper chicken pot pie. Mash & Gravy: The mash was smooth and buttery. The gravy was more than plentiful. Kinda lives under the shadow of the delicious pies though. Sticky Toffee Pudding: Good, but not great. The toffee sauce felt a bit too thick and wasn't as warmed as I like it. The sponge cake was alright, but kinda dry, like they just plopped into the toffee sauce puddle.
