I went down to the store and asked if i could try it out, since my post op recovery meant 2 months with no weight bearing on my foot. I wanted to use it before surgery so I could be prepared. It was easy to use and i rented it for 3 months. It gave me a safe way to ambulate, go up and down the stairs and that made a big difference in my recovery. When i went to physical therapy, the therapists had never seen this device nor heard of it. The only alternative to this were crutches, which i don't do well with, and i was told i could bump up and down the stairs on my bottom but not to put my affected foot down. That was not an option either. This device is a peg leg, essentially. You can use it alone, but being older and having dogs in the house, I used it with a walker. The staff are very helpful and they take their time with you. I have since returned to acquire more supplies and devices for another upcoming surgery, and they will always be my medical supplier of choice.

They had to shorten the metal rail that the chair runs along in order to install it. They also shortened and reinstalled the hand railing to another edge where it is very useful now. Once all this was done, they found that a chair lift part was malfunctioning. They took it upon themselves to troubleshoot first directly with the manufacturer and then organized a replacement part for us. We were up and running within a week (all this during Covid in April). Rich did some research online and was impressed with Grabwise's outstanding reviews. He called Michael and they agreed as soon as we were settled at home we would contact him. When we did contact him Michael arranged to come out the next day. I thought he would just do a survey but he was equipped with grab bars and everything else he needed. He not only quickly and efficiently started installing bars in the bathrooms, but he also made extremely helpful suggestions like a multi-use shower head and a raised toilet seat. The only other thing he needed to do was measure for stair railings. He came back the next day and installed two railings that fit right in with the existing two, I can't say enough good things about Michael and Grabwise. Ordered a breast pump through insurance when I was pregnant. It did not arrive. Email inquiries…read morewere ignored. Baby arrived. More email follow ups were ignored. Fortunately I had a pump from a different source, but the motors don't last forever. Baby turned three months old. Called and was on hold for a long time only to be told that the breast pump part of the system was down, call back next week. Called back next week and was told pumps were backed up but should be in in two weeks. Baby turned six months old. Breast pump, shockingly, still not here. More time passed. Old pump motor gave out and I ended up buying a new pump out of pocket. Fortunately this was not the end of my breastfeeding journey because I separately already had a backup pump and could cover a new one out of pocket, but the whole point of mandating that people have insurance and that it cover a breast pumps is that you're not supposed to have to already have a pump and be able to afford a new one to be able to breastfeed your baby once your leave runs out.

DRCE provides a comprehensive program to evaluate whether the person is capable of driving, designs a system to get them back on the road and modifies vehicles in their state of the art shop to accommodate special needs. In the past therapists working with the disabled and vehicle modifiers adapting vehicles for the disabled worked in different silos and talked past one another. DRCE integrates the entire process. Not only does DRCE service wounded warriors and other disabled persons wishing to get back on the road, they also provide independent driver evaluations for senior citizens. In my case, my wife and I wanted to provide other family members assurance that a senior family member was still capable of driving locally to familiar locations during the day. DRCE put this senior family member through a series of mental agility, coordination and on the road evaluations then delivered a comprehensive report on this persons ability to drive. The two co-founders, Josh and Tammy, are on site you work with them during the evaluation. Highly recommended for anyone who is disabled and wants to drive again or who wants to evaluate the driving capabilities of a senior family member.
