This is my favorite place to eat downtown. Perfect if you're hungry and wanting to sink your teeth into some curry. I love the owners, I feel like they always remember me when I stop by. Haven't been disappointed, and I've been coming here frequently since 2018.

Devine. Vegan-Friendly. Flavorful. Surprisingly Simple. Wow. What a place. I cannot believe it's taken me so long to try Gogi's Cafe. As a vegan, I have dined in Chico at many a places. Even Indian places. Never have my culinary socks been blown off like they were here. The place is set up cafeteria style. Some people seem to look down on that in previously seen Yelp reviews, but I think it made this place non-pretentious. Gogi's isn't trying to be upscale. It's not trying to be fine dining. The premise here is good food, served fast, cafeteria style, located right at the edge of Chico State University. There were plenty of vegan options here to enjoy, something I was glad to see. I dined on a lunch plate with a vegan tofu curry, a vegan chicken dish, rice and a side of Vegan Garlic Naan. The vegan tofu curry, as others have described on Yelp, had the taste of macaroni and cheese to some extent. Don't don't be fooled...I'm not knock it. It was INCREDIBLE. By far the best vegan Indian dish I've ever had. The vegan chicken dish was great, too, although not quite as memorable as the tofu curry. The Vegan Naan bread was insane. It was SO GOOD. I literally could dip this in anything and be satisfied. It was both crispy and soft (right?), flavorful and simple. It was, in a word, unforgettable. In closing, yes, if you're reading this review, you need to eat here. This is my new favorite Vegan Indian restaurant in NorCal!

First visit to Gogi's, Covid has made dining a very different experience, and car dining really stinks! However, Gogi's provided a wonderful meal with fabulous flavor, and friendly personal service! I enjoyed the two dish vegetarian plate with a aloo gobhi, chana masala, with a side plain naan, and a side of samosas that also included a small serving of chana masala and sweet chutney, and of course, a mango lassi. I am a business traveler and have an opportunity to sample all kinds of food from all around the country, Gogi's is definitely top shelf! I will come back here next time I am in Chico.

14.95 all of this food is vegan and is delicious. Well worth the money.

Found another great spot on Yelp…read more This place is a kind of simple, no frills place that has GREAT food. You can see their high quality meats they display in the cold case kind of like a deli (in fact I wouldn't be surprised if this was formerly a deli). You pick chicken, beef or lamb and how you like it (shawarma / wrap, on a plate) and minutes later you are served some absolute deliciousness. If you like Mediterranean food, you will love this place. I say this as someone from SF who enjoys some of the best you can get anywhere. This place is on point and I am contemplating ordering some for delivery on day 2 of my visit!

That lamb and beef? Thin-sliced, perfectly seasoned, with just enough crispy on the edge to make every bite count. Laid over a bed of fluffy golden rice, it was practically begging for that cool, creamy tzatziki and trust me, they didn't hold back. The hummus was rich and smooth, and the fresh chopped salad balanced out the plate like a well-packed saddlebag. But what really sealed the deal? The stellar service fast, friendly, and full of good vibes. They treat you like a regular even if it's your first time. And at just $13.99, this kind of quality and portion size feels like robbery... the good kind. So if you're wandering inland and your boots need a break, make your way to Ali Baba. Take it from the unofficial Cowboy Duke of Almost Everything on the Mendo Coast this place is the real deal. #CoastalCowboyEats #AliBabaChico #GyroGoals #MendoToChico #FlavorsWorthTheDrive #TzatzikiAndRespect #CowboyDukeApproved #LunchLikeARoyal

The outaide is not much to look at but the inside of Chicago's Pizza with-a-twist is pretty and clean. I liked the monitor and boothes. Service: 5 stars. Matt was excellent. He was good with his recommendations when I asked him. He's joyfulness made my experience enjoyable. Value: 5 stars. I opted for the $7.99 special in the window. One large pepperoni pizza that look like it was more than I could eat. The good news, cold pizza is good the next day. This price is competitive with Domino's and Pizza Hut in their carry out specials. However, feel the quality and quantity is better here. Chicago's also has a pizza and salad buffet between 11 and 2 PM for $7.99. Given this variety option and that they also sell pizza by the slice. They have a great value. Quality: I got a large pepperoni and my friend got a medium combination. The crust is soft, I prefer crunchy but that doesn't make the pizza bad. Like so many other pies the center is cheese rich and the space before the crust is sauce rich. The crust has something like cornmeal which give the pizza a distinctive texture. While the sauce is a gentle sweet. Overall their standard pepperoni pizza was a little bland. Now when I tried a slice of my friend's combo I discovered the flavor. The toppings lead flavor on their pizzas! I'm used to eating cheese or pepperoni but their pizza rise in quality with the toppings you decide upon. So I would recommend something like a meat lovers or veggie. They have a variety of signature pizza that you can buy by the slice ot try them all during their buffet hours. Also they have a thin and thick crust option for people like me. Gluten free too, if you are so inclined. So basically, try the buffet to see if they make a pie they way you like it.

Ordered online and got what I thought was a deal, two large 3 toppings for $25.99. I ordered extra pepperoni on the gf as one of the toppings. Plus tad and the extra $ for the gf it was just over $30. When I got there the cashier handed me the boxes, they were different sizes. I told her I'd ordered two larges. She said the gf only comes in medium. Hmmm, okay, but online it let me order two larges and I would not have used that special if I'd known I wasn't getting two large pizzas. Not her fault, but still not okay. Got home, opened the medium gf, and again, hmmm. Definitely not extra pepperoni that I paid for. You know how when you pick up a pizza and it smells so good in the car on the way home? Not the case here. It didn't even smell good. Tasted the other pizza and sadly, I could have gotten Little Caesars and it would have been just as good for about a third of the price. My son liked the gf crust. But that's the only positive thing I can say about this experience. I won't be going back.

We were pleasantly surprised to find a Restaurant that served true Pakistani Food that is Halal…read more There actually is a difference between Pakistani and Indian dishes. While we do enjoy Indian food, it was nice to find Pakistani food. The atmosphere was clean and inviting. We ordered the food to go but shared a Falooda and also drank Chai while waiting for the food to be prepared. The Falooda was rich and creamy with just the right amount of Rosewater. The Chai and Falooda were obviously freshly made. I ordered Saag and Fish Pakora. They were both very tasty. I can only handle mild spicy and Azeem was happy to accomodate my requests. Azeem provided great service and he made a point to cook the food himself and he did a wonderful job. My husband is very picky and I was pleased to see that he thoroughly enjoyed his very spicy dishes. The Tandoori Chicken Legs were juicy, tender and well done. The Goat Karahi was also tender and cooked to perfection. The spices were perfectly used for this dish. The Naan and Rotis were fresh, soft and very tasty. Finally, we would highly recommend this restaurant especially for someone who is looking for authentic Pakistani food which is difficult to find in Yuba City.

A wonderful hidden gem for authentic Pakistani and Middle Eastern flavors…read more This restaurant serves everything from gyros and kebabs to shawarma, Chapli kebab, Shami kebab, aloo tikki, and a wide range of rich, traditional dishes. The food is flavorful, plentiful, and truly mouth-watering -- with options to spice it up if you like that extra kick. The atmosphere is quiet yet warm and welcoming, perfect for large groups, families, or even couples who want a more private dining experience. There's plenty of seating, great service, and generous combo meals that make it worth every visit. Bring your family and friends -- or just come treat yourself. There's room for everyone, and I highly recommend making this your next stop for a delicious meal.
