Jack was a tremendous instructor -- incredibly knowledgeable and guides you through the basics all the way to standing up and riding the waves. I spoke with SlyDog the next morning, and throughout the rest of the week they really took his time with him. He ended up loving everything about the experience once he felt safe. There are a decent number of instructors in the water watching and guiding, and they do an outstanding job with the kids, he was surfing by the end of the second day, and had an absolute blast. We would call it one of the best sights in the world. Justin gave us exceptional information on the history of Laguna Beach and of the sea creatures we could see and not see. I stopped filming halfway through Day 2 because they had already caught so many waves. If you have had any experience with pro athletes (Eli is a pro surfer), you might have experienced where the pro can't explain how they do what they do. They can ride smooth, run fast, jump high, and so on, and it comes easily. Great for them, but not great when it comes to instructing others. Eli knows both how to do it and how to teach those skills to novices and on up. Our teens said Eli was cool and easy to work with. That's the right vibe for learning a new skill.
