Stevi is absolutely amazing at doing hair, and my hair has never been healthier. I started going gray around 18, and now at 38, I have a lot of gray. Stevi helped transition me from my natural brunette to blonde, and the color is so beautiful while still keeping my hair healthy. She is incredibly talented, thoughtful, and truly knows what she's doing. I love the salon and always have the best experience there. So Alec, the owner, has called me out for not updating my review, so here it goes. I came here to get all over hair color in 1N Black, and my normal cost that I use to pay was $70 with my old stylist but since COVID shut them down, she quit. Anyways, the new stylist charged me $140, when I previously had gotten quoted for $70. Because of the extra $70 charge, I left a negative review and Alec had me come in for a redo on the house. I went in and saw Atlantis, who is very good. No complaints. So I schedule my next appointment with Michelle because she's also good and I get the $70 quote for all over hair color, but given that the last time I had her there was a surprise extra $70 charge, I reached out to her IG to confirm... and it was indeed a $140 charge. Upon learning this, I cancelled. This is a good salon with talented stylists but the price for all over hair color being at $140 is a tad high. I'll still come in for cuts, tints and updos. read more

I went to get my hair done and the trusted stylist Stevie was not available.. sat with a recommendation and worst mistake ever....I told her no bleach yet she did... I was busy on phone from work.., she dyed my hair way darker... when I asked what and why she got frustrated. Flash forward to the shampoo bowl she had to do a toner... well ok then a second toner .... U could see she made a mistake... when I questioned it she got very frustrated and said I could leave. Hello I have chemicals in my hair..... the second toner burned so bad.... When she rinsed it it was with scalding hot water. I was severely burned. It took over a year to recover. The owner acted like he cared but nope.. I lost my job... I could not sleep or work due to the pain. I asked if we could contact insurance that a salon must have and then silence. I really tried to be nice.... Numerous doctors appointments later I was treated poorly by Alec. I am not one to sue or cause problems but I feel letting you know what happened and how I was treated. Before and after .... She is unstable . This was so painful I could not work I could not sleep. This is why u have insurance. Accidents happen... Okay. I have been a blonde my entire life and I thought it was time to change up my style so I came in here and was recommended Kelsey by a friend, who literally made all my dreams come true. She was attentive to my needs, walked me through the whole thing and every process she was doing and my hair turned from bleach blonde to a deep dark brown and I will never go back to blonde, or to another stylist ever again. Going brunette from blonde requires red dye in order to even out the color and that would have made me panic on a normal occasion, but Kelsey told me what she was doing and why, and it made me feel confident about the process. She was super fun to talk to, gave me the "in" on all the products she uses that made my hair smell and feel good and we were laughing the whole time. She really made a difference for me. So because I dont want to be too negative, I WILL say that the decor is eclectic and interesting. TL;DR - They do not respect you or your time. Don't expect appointments to be honored. Your wait time may be over an hour with zero communication about it. Originally, I had called a week in advance to get my hair done for the holiday weekend. I was scheduled for 1:45 and looked forward to a little self care. I was called the day before my appointment to see if I could come in at 2:15 instead---to which I agreed. I was reeeeally looking forward to my hair. On the day of, I arrived and was checked in (I assume). I waited in the lobby to be called. About 30 minutes goes by and another customer walked in, was checked in, and was taken in a matter of minutes. Now, I dont know what THEIR schedule had been so I let it go. Another 30 minutes+ goes by and during my hour+ wait time, I was never checked on. Not even once. I work in customer service and so I know things happen from time to time that is just out of your control---I understand that but there was absolutely zero communication with me. It didnt help that one of the stylists was having a conversation with their client about how slow it was today. Eventually I gave up and asked someone passing by what was going on. She commented about how I had been waiting a bit and so went to check on who I was supposed to see...she needed ANOTHER 20 minutes. At that point, I was fed up. Had any of this been communicated with me, I would have been fine and stayed regardless of the wait time. Again, I really wanted my hair done for a little me time. I could tell that the person who went to check on my appointed stylist felt bad and so I heard her asking some other girl if she could do something for me but they didnt seem very keen to accommodate. That was my last straw and I ended up leaving with nothing done and an anticipated celebratory weekend down the drain. I dont think I'll ever come back despite how much I wanted to come here. They just dont seem to care about schedules, appointments, or people. read more

Had my hair cut and styled by Sarah Rose from God's & Heros. And I'm. in. LOVE. Before our appointment my hair was long and had no movement. Sarah cut at least 6 inches; gave me layers, gave me bangs and gave me new life! And she styled it so beautifully. I'm telling you she's got magic hands when you equip her with a brush and hair dryer. I felt extra sassy that day and I still have yet to master styling my bangs how she did (TEACH ME YOUR WAYS). It was my first time at God's & Heros, so the first thing I noticed was their venue has a really cool, modern edgy aesthetic. So fun! And the rest of the staff are so sweet too! My husband was with me during my appointment and sat comfortably reading a book as my hair was tended to. I had been struggling to find a good hair dresser around the area since I moved here two years ago, and I just have to say my experience with Selina was top notch. I've been wanting to go to this salon for years, and finally made an appointment to get a cut and color correction. I had no idea who to see, so the receptionist set me up with Desdrith (D for short), and I have found my stylist soul mate. D is seriously awesome! My first appointment was on a Thursday morning to get a cut and consultation for the color. My hair was a hot mess; I had been cutting it myself because I was scared of salons, and I had a year of root growth, with a ton of purple and fuchsia dye over both bleached and virgin hair. I wanted to go light blonde with coral. D was very honest with me about my expectations, and let me know all of the risks involved with stripping out such dark colors to go super light. I agreed to the risk, and she made another appointment for the next morning so she had time to get a color lifter and the dye. We started at 9am, and by 1:30pm, my hair was completely transformed without a single hitch, fully in tact and without feeling fried by the color lifter and bleach. 8 out of 5 stars. I have very curly hair and hadn't had anyone cut it since COVID started - almost a year! It was looking really shaggy, but I was nervous since it is difficult to cut curly hair. I finally made my first appointment with Terra to keep the length, but shape it. The minute I met her, I knew she would do a good job - she has really curly hair, styled very cute. I was completely amazed at that cut. It has NEVER looked this good. She cut long layers so the length is still there, but much more bounce. And, she even had great suggestions for color and roots. My experience and impression in short: Great location (not in a crowded plaza with no parking), takes card, breath taking interior, cool hairdressers, completely fair pricing, and an absolute treat. Little did I know a place like this existed in OC. Coco (@seriouslynicolehair) was so dope. She knew exactly what I meant when I asked for 1) more body in my hair and layers 2) a sunkissed hair color that was only a few shades lighter than my natural color 3) blended balayage for a natural finish. She completely understands hair and what it takes to add dimension and texture (so you avoid looking like you drenched yourself in bleach). And she's just a pleasure to watch work, you can tell she loves it and gets excited about it. She worked with me on my hair type (dry, thin, grown out box dye) and did what was best for me. I found Gods & Heros on Yelp because I'm having a falling apart w my stylist when she recklessly took thinning shears to my hair during my last cut. That thoroughly annoyed me so I was looking for a new go-to spot to commit to, but sadly this wasn't it. I actually like the salon itself. Nice receptionist and it was easy to make an appointment. They had a private lot in the back. The ambiance was very trendy. You can tell the owner has an artistic eye. I came 10 minutes early and I was offered a beverage. I had positive vibes about this place. My hair stylist, Selina Valdez, came up to me around 3:55pm, 5 minutes before our appointment saying she will make a quick 5 minute run to the nearby gas station for a drink. That's fine - no big deal. She took about 15 minutes though... she didn't get back until 4:10pm. Not a fan of people wasting my time on a Friday evening. But whatever... So we discussed my hair and mutually agreed that my last stylist had cruelly messed up my beautiful long hair and my bangs. All I wanted was a quick trim to clean it up -- fix the damage. And for the record I don't think my hair is even that bad, but she was complaining about it the whoooooole time! Jeez I get it!! She is so pushy with her own opinions she kept making her suggestions over and over and over... because she wanted to FIX me. It got really annoying. She kept saying I look like A BEETLE?? WTF?? I swear she said it at least 10 times... that I look like a beetle... I paid $60 + tip for an easy 1.5 inch trim for her to call me a beetle... She kept dissing on my hair about how it can't be fixed any time soon. It got a bit ridiculous when she started to make remarks about my glasses. In a critical tone, she asked if I had contacts. Yes - I have contact, I just got lazy and decided to wear glasses that day. Overall she just seemed like a really judgmental person. She even called me a player!! Like WTF?!?! We just met, we aren't BFFs or anything. I am your client, not your buddy. There is no way I would come back to dread another session with her. My hair cut isn't bad, but it definitely wasn't the greatest cut I've received either. She also struggled to blow dry my bangs to swoop over with finesse. I would have really liked to frequent Gods & Heros since they are only a quick 10minute drive from work, but not after my experience there. I wasn't really mad, just irritated and somewhat amused. Huge, huge, huge fan of this place! Especially of Bill!!!! I came here on a whim and he does not disappoint! I was in search since my last stylist decided to be a nurse, which I am happy for him but he left me without another him lol. I went to a few places, one really pricey, the girl does hair for the real housewives of OC...which should have been my first clue...anyways crappy haircut and $200 later I was unhappy and decided to just grow my hair out because she jacked my sh!t up! Fast foward, after having some really nice email conversation back and forth with Bill, I decided to bite the bullet and do a hair consultation...I've never done one of those before but I figured what do I have to lose. He explained in his email he does do a lot of work on short hair which was what I was looking for A-line but below my cheeks, barely touching my shoulders and short in the back. He went on to tell me what he specializes in and gave me a link to look at and after that I booked my appt. We met, I was greeted by a very nice assistant who really is just the friendliest person you'll meet in the OC other then Bill of course. I was seated and given my consultation. Now let me be honest with you, when you walk in, its kind of hip and trendy. When I was given the tour I was a little skeptical but excited to meet this Bill. She brought be back to him and he was not at all what I was expecting. But let me tell you, HE IS A FREAKN HAIR GURU and hes all that and more! I've never been happier, the guy is as thorough as a breast exam lol...not sure if that's appropriate or not but I'm serious. You can tell he just really cared and he wanted to let you know how important your hair meant not only to him, but to you as well. I learned things I never knew as well. He finished off his consultation with letting me know he didn't know my budget and he priced slightly higher and that they have a really well staffed place of like 30 stylist and if I didn't want to go through him he wouldn't be offended. Let me tell you something. If you're lucky enough to meet this guy and have him do your hair...DO IT. Because I feel just as lucky to have him doing my hair. I have since went back to have my hair colored and I am getting so many compliments for not just my color but they way he cut my hair. Be sure to get comfortable and trust him he knows what he is doing. Just be ready to answer a lot of questions because they all come into play when doing your hair. I go see Victoria for a year now and she's been hands down excellent with cut and color!! I'm picky w my hair, like trying out everything but am not fond of long appointments, long waits, if the color doesn't turn out well or passés are not done well. Every time Victoria does a great job, I never have lines in my hair when doing roots, she's absolutely great with color and highlights and other techniques. Just today I had a terrific haircut again.
