I went in on Thursday for a wash, cut and style at 12. Dania was lovely and I'm rating one star because she gave me tips on how to do a blowout at home. The blowout looked so cute BUT my layered haircut is not what I wanted. I washed my hair Friday night and let it dry only to see the layers were SO off and chunky. There was even a strand that was missed. I'm really sad because I tipped and thought the blowout looked great only to realize the cut itself was messy. I do not recommend for a haircut. What I love about this place is that you can make an appt and get seen the next day which is nice, I've usually never had a problem with this! It is also very clean and in a great location! Recently, I scheduled an appt next day for 10 and the stylist didn't show up until 10:28! He texted me at 9:54 saying he was running late, and didn't arrive until almost 10:30. At one point I almost got up and left because I wasn't even sure if the stylist was going to show up. When I arrived, the salon was full of other stylists already working on other customers and I didn't get a single greeting or was acknowledged by anyone. I awkwardly just sat down on a chair and never once did anyone ask if I needed help. Lastly, my two font short layers ended up being uneven. I pointed this out to the stylist towards the end and he said they were fine. See attached picture. I've been going to this salon for the last 3-4 years or so and I've never had a bad experience, however after this time I am not sure if I will return :( I paid almost $100 for the cut alone and I still tipped 20%. read more

I came here the day of a wedding that I needed to go to and wanted to get my hair done. I definitely recommend coming in wearing whatever you plan to wear to the event, just to make sure that the hair style matches the outfit. There is a ruffle on one side of my dress, so I had thought about mirroring that with some curls and lift on one part of my hair. Audrey was my stylist and she was awesome! I have really high expectations and she met them. For me, it's really hard to justify the price of a blowout and curls, and she was super reasonable and helpful. She added a little lift, and then just ended up curling my hair so that it would be more cost-effective. I really appreciate this about her and not to mention, she did a fantastic job! I also showed her a picture of my daughter's hair since she has wavy/curly hair, and I never know what to do with it. Review for Dre.. from 6th of October, had bad haircut and sad service experience. First grievance.. I wasn't even greeted by her until 6 mins after my appointment time only to be told she was running behind so she sat me at a different station to wait. I wish she would have texted me she was behind, she gave me a brief consultation and said she would wrap the haircut up in 10 mins for her last client. I'm pretty understanding so I waited.. well 10-15 mins go by and she's still cutting hair and chatting. I'm at 25 mins past at this point kind of unacceptable but I felt obligated to stay.. that's my fault I should have left and refused service. At that point I said I was going to go to do a return at a store in the same lot.. because she had me sitting there twiddling my thumbs like an idiot..I came back at 12:39 ( appointment at 12) and she had just then finished. She sees me and quickly washes my hair and says she won't rush my appointment so no worries. I tried my best to believe her but the whole experience felt insanely rushed, she even had another stylist step in to blow dry my hair and was full on burning my scalp while speed styling my hair. Now for the cut.. I came in with long hair that needed a trim and was slightly uneven. Somehow the shorter side of my hair became the longer side.. still uneven and too much was taken off even though I confirmed the length twice. I asked for curtain bangs and to maintain my length and density at ends. The hair is more heavily layered on the ride side of my face and the bangs are pretty decent BUT the left side has almost no layering and the bangs are chopped straight across and so much shorter than the other side. There are hairs that are bang length where they shouldn't be and they are just too bulky.. she cut too much of my hair into bangs which if you know is the worst to grow out and deal with :( I have wavy hair and I communicated that as well as the fact that I do not want hair that needs to he styled. Well even when I blow out my bangs they look funky and i'm having to constantly hide them or fiddle with them. I asked her to fix them and she basically denied they were uneven and blamed my wave pattern after I had spent days comparing them.. the fix made it worse. I finally reached out to the salon owner a couple of weeks ago who was very nice and said she'd pass the message along.. I never heard from Dre once offering any solution or apology which doesn't surprise me because I didn't receive one for waiting or getting the fastest least precise haircut I have ever received. My guess is she was behind that day and prioritized her return clients over me but i'm appalled at her service as a first time client. My haircut took less than 10 mins and my hair felt yanked on and sore after styling. A month later and my bangs still look a complete mess.. not at all what I asked for. I would have fully respected her telling me she was behind and if we could reschedule or at least copping to the fact that she rushed my appointment but no accountability unfortunately. I was treated with zero care of consideration and you expect more from a luxury salon.. bummer. read more

I had an appt for 10am today and was headed to the salon. I live forty minutes out without traffic so I left at 9am. I got a text as I was already on the freeway telling me the had cancelled my appt and to call to reschedule. I called right then and left a message telling them I was already on my way and asking that they schedule me with someone/anyone for my cut. Alkali got back to me pretty quick and said they'd fit me in at 10:15-10:30. Although they offered to put me with someone I declined because, in my mind, "fit you in" means whenever we can get to you. Very inconsiderate and no apology for wasting my time. I don't always review every bad experience but I was quick with this one because they definitely deserve it and others need to know that Alkali is not respectful of client time read more

Leah is amazing! I've been burned a handful of times with haircuts because I went to cheaper places.
