I live in Orange and go here specifically for Lindsey Min. I definitely fell in the category of cheap $25 hair cuts in Garden Grove, never trying out anything different, or deviating from anything other than a side swept bang, straight cut or slight layered look, until I was recommended Shear Bliss. Getting all my new hair experiences here has made me continuously ask for Lindsey. She makes it easy by answering anything from what products she used during the hair appointment, what condition my hair seems to be, how to care for it based on my needs/ what I'm asking, and when to return again based on what I'm describing to her (cut, coloring, upkeep..) FOR COLORING: I literally had what was called "virgin hair" and recently pulled the trigger and asked what Lindsey recommended. She did not pressure me at all those few months back and said if end of the day I wanted to experience a hair makeover, she would recommend I look into Balayage considering my skin tone, current hair color (jet black), and the current trends of hair/ easiness of upkeep based on hair growing out. The process took 4-5 hours and she was extremely meticulous with every step while also explaining to me what she was doing. It felt very pampering to have her continually check in on my neck (my goodness, no idea the head starts feeling heavy), and the best part was the washing out phase/ head massage she gives. End of the day. You can beat the price and quality for an OC cut, or coloring, from Lindsey at Shear Bliss. And if you were wondering about my new hair, it is the Ash Balayage and I'm coming back in 8-12 weeks for touch up/ toner to maintain the color. Glen at Shear Bliss is absolutely amazing. She completely transformed my hair after I box-dyed it black multiple times (which I assure you is not an easy feat). I always feel slightly uncomfortable going to hair salons because I can be introverted, but Glen makes it feel like I'm visiting a friend. Hair: Glen is a genius at doing balayage hairstyles. My biggest concern is the blend/transition on balayage/ombré hair. I see this style done badly quite often; the hair would abruptly go from dark to light and you can see where it was messily bleached. Hair stylists will curl your hair to hide the poor transition. Not with Glen. The transition from light to dark is so seamless, even when your hair is straight! But she always curls your hair at the end too so you feel extra fancy. She also takes her time to make sure that your hair is nicely toned and never rushes the appointment. If she thinks it looks less than perfect as she dries your hair, she never hesitates to fix it. Decoration: You can tell the love and effort that Glen has put into her store from the adorable Shear Bliss signage to the fiddle leaf fig trees in every room. It's adorable and welcoming. Pricing: The price here is very reasonable, especially for the quality work you receive. I live in LA and I was quoted at double the rate of Shear Bliss (and less quality) so I don't mind making the trek to OC to see Glen. Parking: There is a lot at the back that you can conveniently park in. I've never had a problem finding a spot. I can't say it enough... thank you Glen!! read more

I just got my hair cut and dyed less than 2 weeks ago somewhere else and it was not good. I figured it might take a few days for it to grow o me but no. They ended up frying part of my hair due to the hair dye and the hair cut gave my hair no life. It was flat (I don't mean straight, it was lifeless). For a person who's willing to travel about 40 miles and take the bus back home for two hours sitting next an old man with serious b.o., there's a reason why I first found Lindsey on Instagram and took a chance to see her a few months ago for a Brazilian blowout. I struggled with extremely damaged and frizzy hair since middle school. That was about a decade ago hahaha. If it ever rained or became humid, my hair would poof twice it's size okay I'm exaggerating but it was pretty bad LOL The blowout took approximately two hours, give or take, and the results were AMAZING I could finally tie my hair without worrying about the crease or bend afterwards! It lasted for about three months and it made me want MORE Yesterday I went back to Lindsey, however, this time to fix my horrible roots (no one told me how atrocious they were before I found out ). I asked for a light pink balayage with slight trim. I also thought about getting a blowout on the same day after the dye job, but Lindsey told me I could always wait till August before school to serve my fresh looks aha okay just kidding but she wanted to save a girl some money The hair came out looking a beautiful rose gold and blended nicely from root to tip. I went to my workplace back home and my co-workers immediately complimented my hair on first sight! Afterwards, I went to the boba shop next door to visit my bf working; Once she saw my hair, she mouthed OH MY GOSH! and gave me the nod of approval LMAO From my last visit to this most recent one, Lindsey's done a wonderful job working with my hair. I love coming to Shear Bliss to see Katie. She is the sweetest, and does a great job coloring my hair every time. And she is so fun to chat with while your hair is processing. Admittedly, I don't always get to come here, since it's a little far from my work and I like to get my hair done on my lunch breaks, but I've never left disappointed. She has a great eye for color, and listens to what you want, but will be honest with her professional opinion too. Just be realistic with what can be done with your hair! The other stylists seem to work magic too, judging from other clients I've seen leaving the salon. (I was actually recommended to Glen, but she wasn't accepting new clients at the time I needed an appointment.) The salon returns calls quickly, and will try and work with your schedule. My original review of this salon was not going to be the best however an interaction with one of the stylist saved the review. Here's the backstory. I booked my appointment over a month in advance. I was really looking forward to the appointment because I was getting my hair done for my baby shower. Due to unforseen circumstances, the stylist called me the day before to reschedule with another stylist. I was disappointed but understood. On the day of my appointment, the stylist reached out to unfortunately reschedule due a scheduling conflict. I wanted to cry and shout at the same time. I was so upset. What turned things around was the stylist, Lindsey, who went above and beyond to rectify the situation.
