My mom and I both got full‑face threading, but the girls who worked on us clearly didn't know what they were doing. I even told her that I didn't feel the hairs being pulled out while she was threading, but she ignored my concerns, same with my mom. When we got home, the hair on my face was still there. It honestly feels like I paid for nothing. They finished a full face in less than 10 minutes, which has never happened at any other threading place I've been to. My daughter also got her eyebrows done, and they gave her a horrible shape. I would never come back and would not recommend this place to anyone. I have paid a total of $102 for the worst service ever. This place has changed ownership, and the girls who used to work here are no longer there, and it really shows.

The morning of, I called to pay in advance and was told to either pay at the front desk or send payment immediately through Venmo. The owner texted me her Venmo, so I sent $180 using Venmo Purchase Protection. After payment, I was told it was "on hold" and that they hadn't received it, even though the money had already left my bank. I sent proof of the transaction. Shortly after, my appointment was canceled. I was told I would be refunded, but I never received the money. My calls and texts were ignored until I called from another number, at which point I was told to "talk to Venmo" instead. I had to open a dispute through Venmo Purchase Protection and was eventually refunded through Venmo, not the business. This was handled very unprofessionally from start to finish. I recommend reading the other 1-star reviews as well, because they show a pattern in how the owner handles situations and treats customers. ---- UPDATE in response to the owner's reply (Google review): Their response leaves out key context. My concern is not the Venmo processing delay itself, but how the situation was handled afterward. I did not repeatedly request anything. I have proof of that as well. I followed up twice, and requested on Venmo like they had told me to. The issue remains the lack of communication, lack of basic professionalism, failure to issue the promised refund, and how the situation was handled once the payment issue arose. No business should ignore a customer and leave them with no explanation.

I've been coming to Ryane before she was here at Salon Soca. Ryane is professional, knowledgeable and takes pride in her gift. I came to her after a previous hairdresser over process my hair. It was falling out and just a mess. Together Ryane and I came up with a plan that worked incredible for my hair and my wallet. She's conscientious about making sure you do not leave until SHE IS satisfied. The shop itself is energetic and fun and there are customers all of ages that come here and everyone regardless of the service is treated with dignity and respect. Great experience when I get my hair done. Never mind being here or having to go here. Ryane and Vanessa(her assistant for now she rocks and has her own chair and clients) are a dynamic duo in the hair world. Thanks ladies for always making the experience enjoyable. My tummy always hurts from laughing. read more

I discovered Salon Soca through a Groupon deal and was able to schedule an appointment with Vanessa for the next day. Vanessa worked her hair magic and truly brought my hair back to life. Not only did she give me a fantastic haircut, but she also provided a relaxing neck massage during the hair wash. I will definitely be returning to Vanessa for all my future hair needs. I don't color my hair ever & I tend to go in between hair cuts like...6 months. I know I know. I stumbled across this salon on both Yelp & Google reviews, both consistent with customer feedback being incredibly positive. I get it. I had my hair cut on Saturday by Nora, it was just us two that day. I'm so appreciative of her kindness because I got super lost trying to find the salon, my gps took me on a wild detour. This salon is very close to John Wayne airport & is located in a plaza with a bunch of suites with multiple other small businesses so it can get a little confusing finding your way around. I would say give yourself an extra 10 minutes to get here if it's your 1st time. As for Nora, she was super sweet, totally listened to what I wanted. She made sure prior to cutting that I was comfortable with the length & helped clear any hesitations I had. I felt comfortable trusting her professionalism, craft & recommendations. Her excitement & passion made me excited, I loved her energy. She was so fast & not in a way that felt rushed, but because she's just that talented. My hair cut came out to about $75 not including tip. I was able to use Zelle & tipped in cash. Normally there's an extra charge for a blow out, but I was ok without. She did a light drying of my hair so I didn't walk out with completely wet hair, which I appreciated, allowing my hair to show its natural texture with the haircut.
