I work in the beauty industry for a living for over 4 years now, for EVERY new client or new appointment you should ALWAYS perform a consultation. The lamination burnt me which i would assume its normal but I noticed an open wound on my arch after the service which is not normal. Sam also did not consult with me what color I wanted or what shape I wanted, when i asked what she was applying or what shape we were creating she told me a certain brown and kept telling me not to worry about it. Kept dismissing me. As the service comes to an end, my brows are so black, and my lamination is so uneven. I came here to relax after a hard day but this ended up being the cherry on top of it. I honestly should've left, I didnt want to pay, i was so devastated with how terrible my brows looked. After I came home i was crying. I called after asking for my brows to be fixed by a different person, they refused saying it would only damage more of my hairs, understandable. When I asked for a refund at least they told me no. And said they would give my information to the owner. Now Im personally representing Nike on my face and i dont know how long i will have to look like this for. The morning of, I called to pay in advance and was told to either pay at the front desk or send payment immediately through Venmo. The owner texted me her Venmo, so I sent $180 using Venmo Purchase Protection. After payment, I was told it was "on hold" and that they hadn't received it, even though the money had already left my bank. I sent proof of the transaction. Shortly after, my appointment was canceled. I was told I would be refunded, but I never received the money. My calls and texts were ignored until I called from another number, at which point I was told to "talk to Venmo" instead. I had to open a dispute through Venmo Purchase Protection and was eventually refunded through Venmo, not the business. This was handled very unprofessionally from start to finish. I recommend reading the other 1-star reviews as well, because they show a pattern in how the owner handles situations and treats customers. ---- UPDATE in response to the owner's reply (Google review): Their response leaves out key context. My concern is not the Venmo processing delay itself, but how the situation was handled afterward. I did not repeatedly request anything. I have proof of that as well. I followed up twice, and requested on Venmo like they had told me to. The issue remains the lack of communication, lack of basic professionalism, failure to issue the promised refund, and how the situation was handled once the payment issue arose. No business should ignore a customer and leave them with no explanation.
