I'm really sad to write this, I had such high hopes for this salon as they have some great stylist. I even came in for a consultation prior and last minute decided to not get extensions just color. I want to say I originally booked with Peyton. Had she done my hair and not her assistance It probably would have turned out bad. I understate people need to learn but having a new assistant who is a (very kind sweet girl) 3 weeks out of school do the entire thing without you not professional. After 2 1/2 hours just doing gray coverage and tone I left with straight hair looking raggedy and at that point the color was not at all of what we had to discuss discussed, but I needed to go back to work and was just frustrated so said it was fine Peyton did say if I didn't like it, we could try to schedule another time to come back and fix it now mind you I have an event this weekend and my only day again because of work would be Friday which she's not available. It's also a 45 minute drive. I haven't even washed it and now have hot roots under and the toner if color didn't take in certain places. i'm not a challenging client specifically when you're just dying brown hair brown but super bummed about the entire experience. If I book with a certain stylist, I expect it to be the stylist not an assistant mind you she couldn't even wash hair let alone blow dry it so some trainings definitely needed. $180 later and I am making an appointment tomorrow for a local hairstylist to fix it very disappointed in the entire experience I think read more

My stylist was Kelli. I'm not only extremely disappointed with her lack of communication, but also with my extensions as well as the application. This was my first time getting extensions. It took me a very long time to bite the bullet. I explained to Kelli this was my first time. she took me over to the shop and chose the extensions that best fit my color, however she did not do anything to match my roots at all , so it was very mismatched. If the wind blows once it's very obvious that I have extensions in and not done very well at that. She installed the extensions, cut the bottom of the extensions. And that was it. There was no styling involved didn't even show me the back of my hair knowing this was my first time. I was very disappointed. I paid $210 for the Hair and another 75 for the installation and I tipped her 50... I'm still kicking myself for that tip. Two weeks in they are completely falling. I messaged Kelli and sent her a photo. It took her four days to get back to me. She said that she can get me in to fix them, but didn't hear from her for another few days. so unprofessional. I had to take to Facebook to find somebody locally that could help fix them. I then paid another hundred dollars for somebody to fix her poor work. 3 1/2 weeks in the side start coming out and popping through my hair. Not only does the mismatched color make it worse, but the popping out at 3 1/2 weeks ?? That should not be happening. I had to have them removed and when I did, the Lady showed me how I had three bald spots in the area where they were popping off on the right hand side of my head. I'm in shock! So basically, a big waste of money, a big waste of time. Very disappointed with not only her communication but her work. Poor customer service bad hair job. AVOID! read more

Isabell Davis was incredibly unprofessional and borderline abusive during my appointment. I came in with clear reference photos asking for a darker, lived-in blonde and she bleached my hair white instead. When I politely pointed out it wasn't what I asked for, she started calling me 'whining' and 'childish' and told me to stop yelling at her when I was literally just trying to speak over her blow dryer. I felt completely attacked and disrespected as a paying client. This was my second visit in 2 weeks because she left visible missed spots during my previous full highlight that I already paid for. She's now saying she won't charge me like she's doing me a favor, but she should be refunding me for the botched work from last week, not acting like I should be grateful she's fixing her own mistakes. I left feeling humiliated, gaslit, and honestly traumatized by how she spoke to me. No one deserves to be treated this way by someone they trusted with their appearance. It's easier booking a tour at the White House and making an appointment. I've been calling for the past four days, literally to make an appointment with any hairstylist and I guess they have a new rule now because I haven't been here in years. They have a new rule that they can't make an appointment with the stylus for you. You have to contact the stylist directly now I have a flight on Friday and I've been trying to book an appointment for four days every single time I call they give me new phone numbers of hairstylist. I text them and they don't answer. I called again earlier today and I spoke with Gabby. She told me again she's unable to make an appointment for me and I have to reach out to the stylist, I said OK what is her phone number? I've already texted multiple stylist and they never responded. She gives me the phone number and I tell her it's an invalid phone number. She puts me on hold again. She gets back from hold and she says well you have to email her or you have to send her a message on Instagram. I'm sorry I thought I was contacting a well established Salon not a hairstylist that just got out of beauty school. I tell Gabby you're not able to make me an appointment. I'm not able to make an appointment. I'm not able to text the stylist or call the stylist and I even ask Gabby if she can go up to the stylist directly and she said she's unable to do that so I'm not able to call. I'm not able to text. She's not able to ask the stylist and she's not able to make the appointment for me. I don't understand where their organization comes from, but it definitely needs to change. I literally just told her I just won't be coming to the salon or trying to make an appointment again. Thanks to her, I constantly get compliments on my hair- like daily- and all I do is wake up and brush it, so I know it's not anything I'm doing! This salon is great! I called on a whim, I went to Kaylyn to get my short black bob turned into long, flowing locks. I text her and she responded immediately, which is good, because I needed this installation done in a hurry for a film we're shooting this weekend. I decided to get sew-ins. She was amazing! Very attentive, and if any of the beads were too tight, she would immediately fix them. I felt very comfortable with her and had a great time. The actual installation only took about 2 hours. If you're not sure about extensions, I would go to the salon because they do specialize in that service. As you can see, my real hair blends magically into the extensions. Pretty cool. A really cool feature is the hair store built into the building that you can just walk to and buy the hair from. I got the genius wefts, and this particular type of hair (Kovi) does not get wavy when wet. It's straight and matches my real hair, which is what I was looking for. The women stylists who work here are dedicated and know what they're doing. 10/10 would recommend! read more

Just got my hair done at this salon recently and it is absolutely gorgeous! My stylist was extremely informative throughout my entire appointment. We did highlights and two rows of extensions. They have an entire hair extension store inside the salon! We walked right over and matched colors and bought the hair to install that day. My hair has never looked better! I am so happy with it. When I did arrive maps took me to a different building so I added the photo of the red circle where it actually is, but the stylist helped me find it over the phone no problem. (I've cut my own bangs, had my husband give me a "trim", given myself a "trim" - I don't advise anyone do any of that) & When I think I can go to another stylist for a quick fix - I'm wrong & of course I did it, clearly she should be paid more just for putting up with my crap! I travel from Manhattan to get my hair done at Tease Salon every six weeks. That should tell you everything you need to know. I was an extension newbie before Vanessa and was super nervous about the process. I was imagining all of the worst things - hair falling out, fake looking hair, poor blending, etc. Vanessa was so amazing and talked me through the entire process to make me feel at ease (with the aid of a couple glasses of wine). It did take me a total of two weeks to get over my shock and get used to the long locks but four months in and I am still loving my two rows of hand tied wefts. To address the extremely entertaining but negative reviews here, I have had no issues with beads falling out, no hair loss, no split ends, and no matting or tangling. I only use the products recommended (Caviar, Unite, Wetbrush) and wash my hair once a week (twice if there's a special occasion). Regarding pricing, I find them extremely reasonable. I was getting my hair done at Bumble & Bumble in Manhattan for $500 for cut and color, no extensions. Even if they were expensive I'd be willing to pay as they are specialists in extensions. Why would you go anywhere else? Alight fine if you're looking for something negative, the only constructive feedback I would give is that it would have been nice to have been notified that the nail tech Zaza left the salon. I received no warning (probably because Zaza did her own booking, I think?) and only found out because I texted Zaza looking to reschedule. Luckily, there are about a million nail techs in NYC so I'm not even mildly upset. I love Tease Salon and I would recommend this place to anyone looking for quality and professional services. I'll be a Tease customer for as long as they are in business. read more
