Soooo bad. Worst blowout I've EVER had. I asked for 'big, bouncy bombshell blowout hair' for my baby shower event that day. I wrote that in the appointment notes, and even reiterated it when I spoke to my stylist in person. Taylor was 30 minutes late, which put me quite behind schedule for the things I needed to do that day for my event. While shampooing, I heard her telling another hairstylist she was out so late the night before and how it sucked she HAD to come in early for work. I mean, she clearly didn't want to be there to do the service on me...I felt awkward after that. We spoke about how I wanted my hair done, which as I said already, bouncy bombshell curl hair. Also, note, my sister, who was seated at the salon's extension across the staircase, said the SAME thing to her hairstylist, so I expected our hair to come out somewhat similar, right? Wrong. My stylist didn't style my hair bouncy bombshell at all...not a single soft curl or anything. It was flat as hell and STRAIGHT. I've had my hair done multitudes of times at other salons and asked for exactly this, and every time it came out how you'd expect--bouncy, voluminous like a Victoria's Secret angel. This was a complete joke. The picture here is me in the car as I left--not even 10 min after appt ended. I didn't have time to argue or sit in the chair longer, given that we started quite late due to her sleeping in lol. I also was just SO bothered, I didn't want to talk to her anymore or have a confrontation, I just wanted to get out of there. I'm pregnant so maybe my angry hormones are higher, but I just wanted to protect my peace that morning for my event. I tried to tell myself it was OK, I'll try to find time before my event to fix it at home...But I am mad at myself for thinking that. I paid HER to do my hair. I shouldn't have to fix it. My fault for not saying something, although she knew EXACLTY what i wanted prior to starting? I shouldn't HAVE to say something when she KNEW what I wanted. I'm very mad I tipped her--force of habit. My flat, straight hair really did ruin my day. I went over to see my sister when I was done, and sure enough, she had the hair I wanted. Bouncy soft curls, BOMBSHELL hair. I've been to this salon quite a few times now in the past year or so and it is such a relaxing atmosphere. They have 2 units right across from each other upstairs in the Paseo 17 plaza. When you walk in, there's always a receptionist there to greet you and check you in quickly. I only started going to this salon because of Elaine! I initially started getting my hair cut with her back in 2022 when she was at a different salon but I love her work so much that I followed her once she moved salons. She is so attentive and detail oriented which is much appreciated especially when you want to voice any tweaks you want made to suit what you're looking for in a haircut. Ever since I've been getting my cuts with her, she's had two different assistants (Colby and Mikayla) and both are so sweet. Colby is now taking clients of his own too which is so exciting! I really wanted to love this salon- but I won't be coming back. It had been a few years since getting my hair colored so I was super excited to add a little dimension and tip out the ends. It was a brief consultation- so I don't think what I wanted was fully understood, nor was I aware of additional costs from what was stated online. From my experience toner was included, so I was a tad confused when I checked out. I was bummed that the foils were all painted to the root, I wanted a more natural look. It was giving 90s highlight vibes. That was unfortunate, however the reason I'm writing this review is because when I got home I realized most of my hair had been fried during processing:( I wish that would have been acknowledged at some point so I could have asked for product recommendations to strengthen and repair, instead- being told to just moisturize since it's a full highlight. My hair is so damaged I had to book an appointment for this weekend to chop off the ends so my hair can sit correctly. Overall just not what I was hoping to walk away with :( read more

I have been trying to find a place that understood blondes for quite some time and was looking forward to this place based on reviews! Mikayla listened to me and was so patient as I explained what I wanted, and talked over how other stylists had handled my hair in the past and I always left feeling like it wasn't quite right. I was so happy she understood exactly what I asked for! She spent over 3 hours with me and my hair turned out amazing! The babylights were spot on, her attention to detail was so appreciated, she gave the best hair wash ever!... the cut, the blow out!... it was all perfect. Mikayla was so gentle on my ends, from brushing it out after the wash to the blow out. The salon is beautiful and Mikayla was awesome! The products are top quality. The price is high (but I know it costs a lot to be blonde!) I have paid the same at other places and had to return a day or two later for the stylist to fix things, so I consider this money well spent. Couldn't thank her enough! I have (had) very long, thick curly hair. I used to get it trimmed every six months or so, but the weight really got to me in this summer heat, and I was very ready to hack it all off. I scheduled a consultation with Amy at SAGE on seventeenth. I explained to her that I had been recovering from a hair disaster from another salon two years ago, with only one cut and color in-between, so I was a huge challenge. Gray in the front / brown on the crown and back / and blonde ends that were now almost down to my waist. I asked for her suggestions, and she walked me through what her plan would be to bring my hair back to life. I liked everything about the consultation, and immediately booked an appointment with her for service. Upon arrival, I was excited / and concerned, at the same time (once you've had a bad salon treatment, the fear lingers). When I arrived, she put me totally at ease. We went over the plan again. I asked for suggestions. She explained everything in detail, throughout the process. I could tell she was extremely knowledgeable, and I was in good hands (trust me, I can recognize a good stylist (I've been everywhere from Beverly Hills to Newport Beach salons over my 56 years of hair treatments). We both agreed that the priority was to get my hair back to its prior healthy, shiny condition. I loved her recommendations. I was so impressed with the amount of detail she took making sure every segment of the process was perfect. When the color was completed, shampooed, and dry ... I was so ecstatic seeing the final results! Absolutely amazed! Amy is a true color artist! The blending of color in what should have been a huge challenge was perfection! And then, to step it up even more, I had decided to do a big cut, and she was ever so careful in every step of the cut, making sure it turned out exactly as I had wanted it to...Asking questions, making sure it was the right length. She would ask questions - I would ask for her recommendation, and together we would decide mutually on what turned out to be on e of the best cuts I've ever had. I've searched high and low to find a replacement for my prior stylist, who had moved out of state two years ago. I am SO excited to have found Amy!
